ahhh yes! and your link says that the 85th st. courts are open year round as well! the plot thickens! looks like the area is also called The Great Lawn Playground. 4 half basketball courts and two volleyball courts (what we were obviously seeing from Google Maps.) the area is just to the NE of The Great Lawn and is circled by a 1/8 mi jogging track. looks to be a big area to search, but one would guess the basketball courts would be likely the focus.

Sorry I missed this discussion. I could have saved you guys some time. My understanding is that someone from the forums will be at the location at the correct time. As long as we've got this covered, I'm going to just go to Central Park to see the fireworks. I'm still walking with this cane and I need to be off my foot as much as possible.

Still, if someone is needed to go, I will hobble over there. But, as I said, I think someone up thread said they would be there. And I think there are other players here in NYC as well.

Good luck and Happy New Year.

ok so just double checking - do we know anything's happening tonight? As far as I know, the countdown was to midngiht UTC, and that's when the new map overlay piece showed up... any other indication there's actually a meet up or drop at midnight in central park?

thebruce: I just assumed it was tonight, or at least it might be worth checking tonight.

Doesn't the ":00" seem to indicate a time? Maybe the object is not there yet, or there is an event planned at a certain date and time.

This is my theory as well, tbh. I think the goal of the game is to slowly build up this overlay.

Here's how I see the game's sequence now:

Puzzle 1: analyze information leading us to find the weird video with the code letters splashed up at the end, then to find the scrap of paper in the Rose Reading Room, then to leave our fax numbers at the "rebel" answering machine, which led to us getting the fax - overlay piece #1.

Puzzle 2: analyze Chuck's tweets to figure out that we had to go to that strange SF restaurant and retrieve a scrap of paper from under a table - overlay piece #2.

Puzzle 3: analyze chart #2 in the Reasonable Haven booklet leading us to find the 20138 page of the main TIMM site, leading us to the time code, leading us to check the site again on New Year's Day and get an image file - overlay piece #3.

I don't think we are supposed to act on any information we may or may not get from the overlays quite yet...I think the next puzzle will lead us to yet another layer to combine with the images we already have. It was also wholly unimportant to have someone in Central Park at the time indicated on the 20138 page, as that time code was just there to tell us when that site would activate the image link.

just to clarify: was thinking of this last night while working on the new discovery. the fax can no longer be considered a "rebel" correspondence imho. this latest and most helpful piece of the map is a direct result of the MTC brochure, M: ARH (specifically, the table on pg. 27.) this has been discussed with Russo numerous times by different players. the page where the code was found is hosted on the MTC website, etc. unless one wants to believe a very long string of events is somehow inter-connected, (Russo being a rebel, Lewis being a rebel, Jagoda being a rebel, someone hacking the MTC website to "plant" the link which coincides with a table "planted" in the official MTC tourism brochure, etc.) these clues are all from the MTC, not rebels.

unless everyone we have been dealing with so far is somehow connected to the rebels? seems unlikely, but definitely an interesting twist to the events as they unfolded last night.

peace...

Interesting coincidence - if you type "Central Park" into Google maps, the Google map marker arrow (presumably) marking the centre of the park is pretty close to the cross.

We know that for sure? Was someone in Central Park at the time indicated?

Seeing as how the website gave us the actual Central Park location, I think it's very unlikely someone was supposed to be there at that time.

So perhaps I'm missing the point of the Central Park location. I thought the purpose of the location was for someone to go there to possibly find something?

Oh yeah, definitely. But we just got the location yesterday (with the third piece of the map), and we don't have a time or date yet.
