I think I was first introduced to ARGs by Microsoft's crap-o-riffic ARG used to promote Halo 3, Project Iris. I remember loving the entire concept of ARGs and being very immersed in Iris because of this, despite the obvious laziness of the Puppetmasters.

My first REAL ARG was Conspiracy 08. In my opinion, best ARG I've ever played. XIII was really able to create a convincing world, convincing characters, etc. etc. I remember during the grand finale, the bad guys put up a big doomsday timer on their site, and me and my friends would often shout "[X] hours, [Y] minutes, and [Z] seconds until Junker KILLS US ALL! " across the classroom at school that day, much to the confusion of my classmates.

BUT I DIGRESS.

I really think ARGs are one hell of a storytelling platform. Other platforms, like books, video games, etc. can be rather immersive, but they do have their technical limits. ARGs don't have that (Or significantly less of, at least). I mean, what better way to pull someone into a story than actually making them a part of it? What better way than to actually tell the story through the world around them, instead of on a page or a computer screen?

I think ARGs have a lot of potential to be the next big thing. I can't wait to see it happen someday.
