Thanks… nothing anymore, really. I got into this kind of thing with Perplexcity (maybe a bit too obsessed?), but since that ended I haven't really done much. What about you?

New blog is up #5 - and the good thing about the storyline so far, is there is a lot of foreshadowing Laughing . If you guessed Jonathan met up with Smiling Jack - you win the prize!

Honestly, your comments are getting old. If you've got something helpful to contribute, please do - otherwise go find a board with people that want to argue.

==EDIT==
I just went back through this thread, but must've missed it. I haven't seen any mention of

What account on Flickr? I wasn't able to find anything that looked like an account for the yochanan we've been talking to on the blog or a Jonathan Swift. Can you repost the info?

Now, kids, let's not get ugly. Y'all be sweet to each other. Catfight! Brownie

I believe JonahFalcon is quoting a post from the first game's thread, which is why you won't see it in this one. The Flickr is just the same one we got the trailhead on (see first post of this thread - too lazy to link, I'm having an epic fail kind of day) so it did have a lot of clues... for the first game, not this one.

Ok - that makes more sense. Thanks for clearing it up. Also in regards to yochanan - he asked what board we were on - and I really couldn't think of a less obvious way to do it - so i simply posted the link. We'll see if he joins us.

I am, in fact, a player.. Petunia got it right - I'm an ARG dabbler, I guess. Perplexcity was my first ARG, and nothing has really grabbed me since then. I found out about the first smithy game towards the middle-end of it, and got the email about this one because of that. So far, this one has been fun.

Yochanan is just my hebrew name, named for an uncle - no mysteries to uncover Smile Anyway, nice to meet you all.

Glad you made it over, and welcome to the forums. Forgive the couple of posts questioning your .. appearance - but such is the life of an ARG'er .. you begin to see clues where there are none. You've done a great job so far on several of the clues so I for one, am happy to have you aboard.

If you want to catch up - the easiest way would be to start at the first page of the blog. The blog was discovered by a Flikr post that gave a tinyurl.

After most of the blog postings - there are comments by us or WHO? or the Others(?).

You can catch the blog here.

Thanks, and no problem - I thought it was pretty funny when I read through the postings. I'd never heard of Yochanan being translated as Jonathan - in Hebrew, it is usually pronounced "Yonatan". But that is an interesting coincidence anyway.

The plot thickens. Blog 6 is up. It just makes the rabbit hole a bit deeper - but no new clues yet. If things follow according to "history" - we should be seeing another numbered update pretty soon here.

Here is some info on Gehenna in the context of White Wolf, which seems to be where the game finds a good amount of inspiration.

Good find. I read the explanation from this page. Gehenna in VTM is where the "ancients" or original vampires (3rd generation actually) - come out of hiding and do a thinning of the ranks, so to speak.

So with that explanation, it gave me a few ideas. In blog 4 - Jon received that anonymous email with the numbers - the one that ended up spelling out Gehenna.
(1) WHO? are obviously a part of one clan or another
(2) The Other - is either a proponent of the Antideluvians (3rd generation vampires) or the Antideluvians themselves. Another possibility to this one, is that it is someone that is aware that Gehenna is coming and wants Jon's help (since we were recently told how powerful he is).
(3) With Smiling Jack, we learned that Jon used to be Jonah, that he's been a vampire most likely for a long time (I think he might have been cured and then re-turned because we know he had a day job). With him being a 5th generation, it's possible he was around for the last Gehenna and has information that might be helpful/harmful to others.

All that being said, it leaves a couple of questions. What actually happened to Jon/Jonah to make him lose consciousness? What exactly does Jon remember prior to losing consciousness? Could this in some way relate to the "first Chapter"?

I'm sure that several other people tried to get into Jon/Jonah's account when we learned his true name - but I still haven't even been able to figure out his email address - let alone any username's he might have. Did anyone else have luck with this?

I wonder if we can find a way to get in touch with Smiling Jack..?

==EDIT==
You might want to read the page I linked above, otherwise a lot of this probably won't make sense.. Laughing

==EDIT2==
As a side note - I tried to see what I could find on Smiling Jack, but there was precious little:
Quote:
Smiling Jack
A Brujah brawler, possible ex-pirate and notable Anarch from the nights of the Anarch Free State; considered a legend among young vampires and his clan.

Quote:
Mr. Jonathan Cross and his wife Alexandra appear tonight on LA television channels pleading for the return of their daughter Jenna, said to have been abducted by one of the many blood cults now making the news. They describe her abductor as a bearded New Age guru calling himself "Smiling Jack.

===EDIT3===
New blog post - a .. and lots of little hints - most of which seems to point at the extermination of all "rats"...

what I found interesting was

We can speak again. Just understand the prime factors of the situation to come. Keep your eyes open, friends.

(i bolded) so we might be looking for use of ways to use factorization, or primes maybe within the logs themselves.

:edit: that was there I just thought the blog wrapped *duh*
