 		The key was an audio file, there is a copy of it on page 2 of this thread. It's a touch tone phone dialing. Unfortunately I can't use a phone right now to figure it out. At work.

You are correct.
The e-mail that had the coded name of the blogspot account was a simple substitution where L=A, K=B, J=C etc.
Those strings (eg. "LKJHG") are found in order on a keyboard, but that appears to be irrelevant. I didn't actually use that key to crack the coded message, but that does appears to be the key they used to encode it.

Each word is either a homophone or rhymes with a number.

 		@kosmopol. That's what I heard, too, and I took a bit to listen to it. Best I can come up with is VIMJ? Does that make any sense?

EDIT: Shallow's makes more sense
