Can someone double check this for me? I just plugged in the GPS numbers and got a location in Baltimore, Maryland. Did the website just make a massive error, or did I plug in the numbers wrong?

edit - I should clarify, I was using the numbers form the NY drop and got a Baltimore location. I don't want to be in L.A. later and find out I am due in Salt Lake City within three hours. I am just not that awesome.

I'm a n00b with gps stuff, so I've been putting the numbers into google maps and getting locations in Antarctica - any help? Wanna make sure I'm up to speed for the London drops.

Switch your numbers, you have the latitude and longitude backwards.

Aha! Thanks, now I'm getting the Baltimore location too. How'd do you know to input the numbers like that? Is the number with the minus sign always second?

Ok, it's something with Google. I did a Google search of the NY Stock Exchange and pulled it up. Then, by clicking the Link this button, I pulled the Lat/Lon from the web address:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=new+york+stock+exchange&sll=-76.380825,39.666604&sspn=0.00958,0.050468&g=-76.380825,+39.666604&ie=UTF8&z=17&iwloc=A

The part by the "ll" is the Lat/Lon. It matches the numbers given on the site perfectly. Hopefully it was just a hick-up on Google's part...

I see that, and you're right, but how would you get that to come up using just the numbers?

We will have to wait until more coords go live to test it with. It might just be that Google had a problem with those coords for some reason as they were correct and should have worked fine. I don't think the problem was on The International's part...

As far as finding the address, just plug the numbers as is into Google maps. Ordinarily it will pull up the location on the first try...

The co-ordinates changed: 40.707618, -74.011990

EDIT: plugging those co-ordinates as is into google maps points to a square in front of Trinity Church - is that Times Square?

Those work perfectly. Just copy and paste them into Google maps and you get:

40.707618, -74.011990

According to the Mapquest lat/lon finder, its on the corner of Rector St. and Broadway. I hope our drop later is less glitchy. I can't wait to find out what all is in the packages.

I think I saw someone earlier saying they were down for the Boston drop, but is anyone going to the Philly drop? Both take place in about 15 minutes
