I think it belongs in the Can You Help Me trailhead.

I've heard of Eu before in taht topic.
I'll alert the others to it. Perhaps they got similar emails.

After some research, I have deduced that that email is definitely part of the "Can You Help Me" Trailhead. I have quoted your post for everyone to see, and also that it came from here.

Thanks for posting this.

Apparently this is an older email, or something. It was already posted on Page 8 of that thread.

Thank you anyway though.

Not only spam but also a scam.

If you reply he will tell you that he would like to transfer this money to the states and he needs a bank account to do that so if he can use yours he can cut you in the deal. After cleaning out your account all you are left with is a GMail address.

There is a site that exploits those worms.

hi, im new here, but I think i found an arg site for fear2
http://www.armacham.com/index.html
If you go to the bottom of the site
http://www.armacham.com/armacham.html
Atleast, it looks random, but wait for about 10-30 seconds.
The scene will begin changing to something else and becomes a completely new scene. I did a search on fear 2
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Origin
it is coming out in 2009
so can anyone give me a hand and help me out to see if this is a trail?
Thanks in advance
Tast

there's a link on the myspace to E.Y.E. which is a youtube account - http://ca.youtube.com/user/EYE04012009 with one video uploaded 2 days ago.

with 'coming soon' and 04012009, looks like whatever it is will start April 1.

Junker

I received an email today from The Junker Corporation. It has a MessageError225.jpg attachment. There is an image of half an eagle and this message:
Quote:
Information of the product that you enquired is not longer available.
However, I had never heard of the Junker Corp. nor had I ever knowingly made any attempt to contact them. I came to the forum and discovered The Conspiracy 08, so I thought I'd ask you all about my email. Any ideas? Thank you.

Got a facebook message from "George Armstrong", containing only a link to http://holmes.synthasite.com

George @ facebook: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1250983149

I've added as a friend, so we'll see what happens...

perhaps this isn't a question of spam or not, so much as finding out if anyone else has received this.

eta: the (free) site contains a slideshow, and one reference in the images of Sherlock Holmes to "Bill Rezke"
eta2: the song is Lookin' For A Good Time, and the link goes to the myspace for Lady Antebellum
eta3: (<3 google-fu) the drawings are signed "SP", classics drawn by Sidney Paget

eta4: George has confirmed me on Facebook. email: hombre2SPLATlive.com
don't know what to think yet...

May as well throw this in here...

After having this tweet thrown at me, I got followed by this guy. Now he makes it no secret that there's a link to Cryptonomicon there... but there's an interesting retweet here leading to this guy.

For those who haven't read Cryptonomicon or the Baroque Cycle, Enoch Root (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enoch_Root) is possibly the most mysterious character in the series, and belongs to a secret society named the Societas Eruditorum. And this account's website is listed as http://societas-eruditorum.org/

Anyone think there's anything to this, or just a guy who's set up a "mysterious website"?

(for the record, a whois gives the domain having been registered in October 08... providing that whoever registered it back in 05 let it expire, and it was bought by someone else, which is possible)

EDIT: stupid URL tags

Would be nice if there's something to it. Of course DMShaftoe is Doug McArthur Shaftoe. Ordo is the Public Key encryption that Epiphyte(2) uses. Sort of a super PGP. Both the Waterhouse and Shaftoe clans appear in the Baroque Cycle.

I'm guessing it's fanboy stuff just because 1.

and 2. Stephenson's latest just got remaindered at B&N ($7 hardcover. GLOM!) so I don't see a tie in anywhere.

But wouldn't it be nice if I were wrong about this, like I am about so many things?

Hey all. I've only been posting in the TIMM forum, so I'm relatively new to ARGs, but I got a Twitter follow request today that I think looks like an ARG (or at least something promotional), and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. A quick internet search came up with nothing.

The friend request is from Jimmy Olsen (as in Superman's Jimmy Olsen), who links to http://www.jimmystruth2power.com/ as his website. There's a video there about Lex Luthor redesigning some Man of Steel roller coasters, and other links to some Six Flags stuff.

Anyone know what this is?
