 Bolaris, a 3D-sliding puzzle
Bolaris, a 3D-sliding puzzle

I think advertising is not allowed here but I have an announcement to make:
Hello!
I´m a industrial designer from Finland.
I´ve invented this new 3D-sliding puzzle (intl.pat.pend.PCT, design reg. pend., reg.trade mark.) Bolaris. I have it in my own production here, in my own "little toy factory" in southern Finland, in Fiskars village (http://www.fiskarsvillage.fi).
Four models are in production; all have different designs, different levels of difficulty and that perfectly working one finger -mechanism! (That´s the design-aspect here; easy-to-operate -mechanism; works even one-handedly!)
The mechanism is familiar from 2D-sliding puzzles as 15 puzzle, there´s a empty slot, or a missing piece, and rect.parts are moved around one at a time.
The models are: Harmaa/Grey (arrange tones of grey by darkness), Vastaväri / Complementary Colour (a colour wheel in 3D), Domino (create a continuous chain of Domino squares (with matching point values) over and around the ball) and Maailma / World ( with a printed image of the Earth seen from space, partially covered with clouds, also some underwater and sub-continental landscapes are revealed when moving those rectangular parts..)
They have been on sale since december -07 in Finland, and some 4900 units have been sold (for example in the finnish science center Heureka) so far.
Outside Finland, they are on sale (approx. 15 eur) currently only in Puzzle-Shop.de, in Germany, at De Kubuswinkel in the Netherlands, Science Gallery in Ireland, Universeum in Sweden and at Mallorca-Puzzles in Mallorca, Spain. No dealer in the UK, yet. The website http://www.bolaris.fi is in finnish, sorry, but a english section has been added, and more info is coming soon.
