But now to the M post - we really need to get that solved, but I haven't had any luck with it. I have seriously been through about 90 different password ideas to decrypt it - but no luck. I can post them all if you like.

Hello all,

I feel like I should post regarding this. I am sorry if I am breaking any rules but other moderators are also saying that I should just probably mention something here and see where it goes.

My name is Nicko. Some of you know me from ARGNet from some time ago. Some of you might know me from my involvement with other ARG's, either as a player or as a PM/actor. This game caught my attention because I have been involved with White Wolf, creators of both the old and the new World of Darkness where Vampire: the Masquerade (old) and Vampire: Requiem (new) are based on. I came on board with them when we were writting the stories about the Gehenna storyline that would effectively put an end to the old World of Darkness and serve as leadway into Requiem and the other new stories we had. Personally, I am a huge fan of the old world but the majority of WW felt that they had to move away from the Judeo-Christian theme of V:tM and onto something new. Anyways...

Over the years we told many awesome stories. We even told some bad ones. But regardless, for personal reasons I left the WW gang and the Camarilla (their fan club) back in August.

The reason this project caught my attention now should be obvious. It was clearly based on our world yet there was nowhere either a credit to the creators as White Wolf or any mention of sponsorship. And due to my personal involvement I also wanted to make sure that the story was told right.

Thus I posted a while back about having the PM's contact me. No further explanation due to the fact that I really didn't want to interrupt the experience for the players. While I didn't hear back from the PM's some of the players did in fact contact me and one thing was pointed out to me: the player by the name of JonahFalcon did indeed seem to know more that he should. If JonahFalcon is a PM for this game then his involvement as a player is a clear violation of the ToS of this forum.

Having players go "behind the curtain" would certainly not be new. But it is certainly unusal and when it happens there is a certain amount of CYA that needs to happen from the PM's and the player to ensure that rest of the group that's participating will not suspect either that the PM was playing games at their expense or even worse, that their game is being hijacked. Being a lurker here and following the events it is still I think too early to determine what is going on. I do however want to see this project flourish and avoid any obsticles which I currently see as two:

1. I would kindly request that the PM's give credit where credit is due. Per White Wolf's legal all you have to do is create an OOG site that features the recognition to their intellectual property. As PM's you certainly know how hard it is to come up with a good story. Just give your respects, that's all.

2. If the JonahFalcon situation was simply a progress of the storyline then by all means, play on. If JonahFalcon is one of the PM's that's a no-no. If he is hijacking the game then the PM's need to take control again. There are many seasoned PM's here that would love to assist you guys.

In the end, I loved the stories we told over at White Wolf. So I don't wish ill of the project since based on something that is my baby and very dear to me. I do hope all this clears up soon and we can continue enjoying your stories based on the World of Darkness.

You know it's funny: the Nos in the old World were completely secretive and would never ever take anyone in their confidence, except once and you have to read the old novels to find out who. Wink

Disinformation was usualy something we did to a town that was in danger of infiltrated by the Sabbat. Who knows if this is what's going on here.
