Hey BB4,

While useful, this isn't the scribble from the middle of the first page of the TFFIBH. puzzle we're working on or is it?

.edit. whoops, just saw someone else raised the same question.

Has anyone looked for steganography in any of the pictures (like the postcard) or the video? Just a thought. I'd do it myself but I won't be around the boards much in the near future as I'll be spending all my time at the hospital. I'll try to check back as I can and I wish everyone good luck figuring out the mystery that is TIMM.

I think it's very likely that the scribbled out word is "Found" ... as in "Found a job in communications at Blackstar!".

Compare the "Found" at the top of the page with the scribble. I think it's a close match.

In other words, I think the PM writing the diary was copying the words off of another sheet of paper and accidentally began copying the same paragraph twice.

That's my two cents.

Unrelated: A coworker of mine has the exact same brand of red diary and uses it for notes in meetings! It freaked me out when I saw it today!

Edit: Now I'm sure, because it also explains the rather large dot (a lower-case "A" scribbled out).

Thanks much. Looks like an underscore to me and its these underscores that keep making me thing the 'simple and direct' grid may be involved in the solve.

ASCII Codes possibly?

Hey - I'm just a lurker who's been following along, but I thought I'd suggest that maybe this has something to do with the numeric ASCII codes for these symbols. I have two reasons for thinking this: 1) the forte symbol hasn't appeared elsewhere that I can find and it's unusual, and 2) the MTC guys like to use ASCII art - perhaps a hint?

Otherwise it seems like the frequency of some letters are too high to make an intelligible message.

No, everything else is spread out enough so you can tell what the characters are.

True, but if you look at the way it's written it's completely different from the other B

More like: http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/03d0/index.htm

As someone with sloppy handwriting, I can confirm that this is fairly normal. Besides, the same stroke pattern was used in both letters.

Ok....what is going on? We obviously don't have what we need to solve this puzzle and all contact with anyone from Milwaukee has stopped. All of these breaks are making me antsy....GIVE ME SOMETHING MTC!!!!

edit: Also I've received a few PM's about the invisible ink idea and I've tried taking a lighter to a few of the pages (to test the lemon juice theory) and nothings shown up. There's no pressure marks and I'm almost positive there's nothing unless I have to get the paper really hot. I'm open to try anything because frankly I'm still hoping there's something there

there is nothing there, imho. that is why the pages were removed (for what it is worth). i agree that this is a frustrating time with the PMs (AGAIN). it looks as though this is NOT VIRAL, and will never be. the PM's appear to be amateurish, and any further effort will be a waste of time.

sorry, but "Bonus" and the lack of direction from the long awaited "map" are a huge let-down. this thing appears dead.

currently planning summer activities. taking a trip to California (SF). this ARG is quickly becoming an afterthought...

that's rather harsh. how can it be "dead" if we're in phase two? No, this is far from dead. If you don't want to stay with it, fine. But don't ruin things for the rest of us who actually want to play it.

Wow. Well, I'm sorry you feel this way! I for one disagree, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. If the Central Park Meet-up didn't get you excited, I'm not sure what could! And personally, I'm way, way more intrigued by this NOT being some ad campaign. I mean, from the way it sounds to me, you're just disappointed that they aren't trying to sell you something, or if they are, they're taking too long to do it! I apologize if that's not what you mean, that's just how I interpreted it.

This thing is so off-kilter, so ramshackle yet obviously orchestrated still. I don't see why anyone wouldn't be anxiously awaiting what happens next!
