I failed in NY, I found it almost ludicrous that I did. I work in union square and got down there by 12:20, however the "railing" in front of the church is 3 blocks long.

google maps

I looked for about 5 minutes, called my boyfriend, looked for about 2 more then he said it popped up retrieved on the screen.

I never even saw the lock attached to the railing. However, while on the phone with BF I saw the kid from the promotions company leaving with the lock, he looked like he was 16 and on the phone.

I suspect someone working in the wall street area picked it up because I got down there darn quick.

Actually, I was that 16 (17 if you want to be precise) year old kid. And I was not with the promotions company, I won the money. It went as follows:

300 USD
10 Euro
40 British Pounds
1000 Yen

Altogether, about $381.60. I got to Trinity Church from 42nd st. in about 15 min, so I got there at about 12:15. I picked up the money but then walked around for a bit because the lock would not open properly. After a few minutes, I got it to open and retrieved the money.

What I wonder though, is: Why would you think I worked for the promotions company?

So did the combination just open the whole lock then?

See to me this sounds really suspicious. First what is a 17 year old doing so close to wall street to begin with. Then the combination is only supposed to open the panel of the lock holding the money, the lock itself remains in place.

The only explanation I can think of for you having the lock would be you being given the lock by the promotions company.

The lock was just sitting on the fence unlocked. The password opened the chamber inside the lock where the money was.

But perhaps it's just for the car you have to be 18. Wink

That doesnt make much sense to me either, I walked the length of the fence and didnt see you standing there. In fact there was no one standing near the fence in front of the chruch.

I walked the length of the fence and no lock and no you. I only saw you passing me coming from that direction but didnt see you or the lock on the fence prior to that.

On top of that, the promotions companies were watching the pick ups and claiming the locks as they were required to bring them back, are you suggesting that no one chased you down for the lock?

I got the lock off the fence and got out of there. It was only when I could not open the lock (due to its crappiness) that I came back to check if perhaps 1876 was a clue to something involving trinity church. ( Which was founded in 1846) So I may have been wandering about when you saw me.

As I said, I saw you walk past and that was after I had already looked that length of the fence as well as anyone milling around in front of it, you werent at that section of the fence nor was the lock but a few minutes later you passed me from that direction.

And the promotions companies were claiming the locks, no one chased you down to get the lock?

Why do I get the feeling that something's not right here?

NY was the only one that got the lock. Even the one where the kid from the promo company was late he handed them the lock and then made them give the lock back saying they needed it.
