Yeah. I was wearing a black sweatshirt and carrying the lock with me. I still hve it actually.

So did the combination just open the whole lock then?

The lock was just sitting on the fence unlocked. The password opened the chamber inside the lock where the money was.

That doesnt make much sense to me either, I walked the length of the fence and didnt see you standing there. In fact there was no one standing near the fence in front of the chruch.

I walked the length of the fence and no lock and no you. I only saw you passing me coming from that direction but didnt see you or the lock on the fence prior to that.

On top of that, the promotions companies were watching the pick ups and claiming the locks as they were required to bring them back, are you suggesting that no one chased you down for the lock?

I got the lock off the fence and got out of there. It was only when I could not open the lock (due to its crappiness) that I came back to check if perhaps 1876 was a clue to something involving trinity church. ( Which was founded in 1846) So I may have been wandering about when you saw me.

As I said, I saw you walk past and that was after I had already looked that length of the fence as well as anyone milling around in front of it, you werent at that section of the fence nor was the lock but a few minutes later you passed me from that direction.

And the promotions companies were claiming the locks, no one chased you down to get the lock?

Why do I get the feeling that something's not right here?

Why does it matter? Plenty of people walked off with locks. Why would they send a teenager to put it in place anyway? I think we just need to move along here.

Finally found the drop in Denver. Was there 10 minutes after it went live. Spent 1/2 hour looking for it but it was nowhere to be found. Drove 20 minutes back to my office and checked online just to discover that they had moved the location of the box. Drove back downtown and still couldn't find it. It was freezing! Started to leave and looked in the opposite direction and found it. Northeast NOT Northwest!!!

Contents of the box (#37):
20 USD
20 CAD (=$16.48 USD)
100 THB (=$2.86 USD)
1000 THB (=$28.66 USD)
50 SEK (=$6.21 USD)
50 GBP (=$71.20 USD)

Aww, I'm sorry Robbie. I actually did plan on sending you a bill for cool swag since you were helping everyone, but I only ended up with one. *huggles* Brownie

Aww, you're a sweetheart! Thanks, I appreciate the thought. I'm good though, I helped my sis get a drop and she's sending me a bill.

Obviously you haven't read all 36 pages of this thread and seen the first wave of pick-ups.

[EDIT] The ticker on the map page is incorrect about the amount for the L.A. drop. That's odd.

Aw. Good for you. Even though you're stuck at work you still get a sweet lock.

Hubby showed up 15 minutes after the Austin drop went live and said there was a group at the lock already, so he snuck off and let them do their thing. Congrats to them! How much did y'all get?

Given the new time for the L.A. drop, is anyone going to be able to go get it today? Or am I going to have to dail in a favor from my workplace and go hunting again? I was planning to sit this round out but if no one is going, I'll do it. Otherwise, I plan to be online to help out however I can. Shad0 had mentioned going, but that was when we were under the impression that the drop was tomorrow and not today.

@fsurobbie - I tried like hell to get that lock off of the fence. I wanted it too. The person watching the lock must have thought I was crazy.

I think you should go back through and read the thread.

I would definitely go for it though because there is cash and a cool lock to be had.

For the record, you get to keep the loot... but the lock doesn't come off Smile The code given opens a panel in the SIDE of the lock, not the lock itself.

I did have to give back the lock because the people who handed it to me said they had to send it back. (Though they weren't entirely sure - they seemed quite confused about the whole thing.) Wish I had seen the note about the numbers on the back before I left! Whoops.

No one on this thread has been able to keep the lock, the locks are realtors locks meant only to have the panel open, not meant to be kept. I just went through all of the posts since the drops started. So perhaps you should go back and read the threads?

Hmmm, a few posts up and it looks like someone is getting a lock after all. So I most humbly beg all of you, can we all agree that some folk are managing to get the locks and others are not and just leave it at that? No sense arguing about the past, especially when it has nothing to do with the game.
