Portland is down despite what the site says. My friend got to the Portland drop 5 minutes after it posted but it wasn't there. He walked around for 20 minutes looking in the vicinity then, walking back where we started, found the lock (sans money) attached to a bench he had previously checked.

Seems the PM's showed up late and my buddy missed out even though he got there ridiculously fast. He was literally 1 mile away when it posted...

Confused

Durham is also down for what it's worth. For some reason it shows as still being live but my friend got it over an hour ago.

Also, congrats to AL for tying NY for the loser slot. Here's looking at you Ashville!

ATL 2

I got the second Atlanta drop today. I took a chance and started close to where the first drop was, and got lucky as the second drop was only a mile away. I waited around about 10 minutes and took some pictures, but no one else showed, so I had to get back to work. No luck for me on the lock, it was secured. The brand on it is Shurlok if you want to look at buying one. The number 27 was on the back. Thanks again to the PMs on a fun game. I'm also happily surprised to see that there are a number of Atlanta players around. It would be great to see us get some of the same love that NY and LA do on the live ARG stuff.
The money:
50 Euro
50 British Pounds
100 New Zealand
20 Australian
10000 Yen
About $320 US total

The Austin drop is still showing as active, even though it's been gone for almost two hours now. Mr. Pated and I wondered if maybe the group he saw at the coffee house was part of the drop team, so he went back to see if there was something there - no lock, no nothing.

We can add College Station to that list as well. Apparently it is now officially our third "fail". (insert sad trombone sound here)

Guess someone really wanted to get in on the bronze action. College Station, shame on you.

Actually, Ashville Alabama isn't quite right either...

My buddy was camped out in Ashville today waiting for the co-ords to drop. Ashville is a small town in Alabama... four stoplights and a courthouse. He said he was obviously the only one there looking for treasure.
When the co-ords went live, we realized that the cache was located in Asheville NORTH CAROLINA. They mis-spelled the name and mis-located the pointer on the website. Someone goofed.

I used to work right down the street from where the cache was located in Asheville. It would have been an easy find if someone had been prepared to go find it.

Atlanta

Congrats to gdesignr for his quickness in ATL today. The cache was gone and the lock removed within minutes of the co-ordinates being dropped. A strong contingent of Atlanta folks failed to keep up with gdesignr's masterful hunting skills...
