@ ifihadahifi I am making a real pinwheel and am planning on taking a photo of it and putting that online somewhere. Then, I'll send DDO and all of you the URL. I chose to make a RL pinwheel b/c I am not that great at Photoshop and don't have time to learn. I went to an arts & crafts store Saturday, and I've been having a blast making my pinwheel and decorating it! I am contemplating setting up a blog and posting my photo there since it'll be free. I thought about the fan page, but I don't want to risk upsetting DDO by letting Creepy see the pinwheel. Oh! Or my Flickr account (duh!). If anyone has a better idea, pls. let me know.

I think I'm using GIMP to make a pattern with instructions.. I'll put up a photo of the completed pinwheel, too.

I haven't figured out the 'how will people find it' and 'where it'll be' thing yet. I was thinking of setting up a site (where it'll be) but the how people will find it is confusing things. I'm considering putting up a coded message on the fan page or something, if DDO will let that fly.

Well as Tiffany said, a Flickr account or a photobucket account will work. You can just post a link for people to access. If you're worried that your idea may not please DDO, just ask him about it. He may let you know if your idea will work or not. I sent an email off earlier asking about how we should submit, so if I do hear anything I will let you know ASAP.

So far I have a front and back image with facts, but if I actually need to assemble it, it's going to take me a day or so to make that happen.

ETA - I got this from DDO just now:

Quote:

Friend,

The pinwheel must be printed and used by others we can trust.

I trust you.

I trust your judgement in making the pinwheels.

They are something I look forward to now.

Thank you for your help.

DDO

So I would say a printable version or template is needed. Making them available here on UF might be good too. I will be making a physical copy of mine to see how it looks. If I can get that done tonight or tomorrow I will take a picture or two.

My son did that... He was really excited about the whole arg game stuff and wanted to try to get involved too. I think he was only trying to personalize his profile page thing... I don't think he realized that it might be seen as spam type of stuff. He's only 14 and he meant no harm.
I think they deleted him.... Sad I don't see him listed as a member anymore.
He just wanted to play too, and was really excited about trying to be a part of it.

Sorry about that...

Ah, no biggie then, and sorry if that came across a bit harsh. His images just sorta took over the public slideshow on the main page looked rather spammish. If they did delete him, you could likely use one of the feedback mechanisms to see about getting it reinstated. If he still wants to join in, another easy place to start is voting for his choice via Twitter (if you let him use Twitter).

Earl put up a blog post explaining why he was deleted and inviting him back, so I'm sure he could reinstate the account or make a new one.

Episode Four is up! It's great. Smile And jeez, DDO sounds like a creep.

Pinwheel Up!

I have finished my pinwheel, and I have placed it here:
http://picasaweb.google.com/turner.tiffany/Pinwheels?feat=directlink

I hope DDO is happy with it.

Nice Pinwheel!

Hey is it just me, or did there seem to be something more to DDO's commercial this time? The random mentioning of Zebras and Xylophones seemed odd. Anyone think there might be something to it?

Congrats to Trillian as well for her fan script. Pretty sweet getting your name dropped during the show. Well done!

All of his communication seems oddly code-like to me, especially due to repetitions. I had started collecting his statements earlier to examine but abandoned that after a short while.

Thanks, ifihadahifi. I actually spilled my coffee when I heard the screams from the jungle and realized what was going on. That was totally awesome. So thanks to the PMs for making my day! Smile

@amandel I think the coding-idea's great. My feeling is that Creepy won't transcribe and encode the whole book, but maybe I can persuade her to encode one page, for example the one still lying in Earl's kitchen, once she gets it? I'll try and work on it. However, my guess is that, since you have to closest contact to Creepy, you're the one she'll trust most. Did you hear something about the book cover, yet?

Or maybe we can convince Earl to copy the page for us, then Luny would never know just like the doc wants.

@Trillian--Sweet Yams! You must be on top of the world and well done. Creepy tweeted that she hadn't forgotten and would give the book back cover info soon.

Also finding Snorkle's idea cluey and was planning to grill Doc a bit on his wacko radio spots when I mail him with the book info. Have asked him a number of questions which he Nevah answers. Rolling Eyes

Super pinwheel pic (Tiffany) and super MOTS epi. Finding this all epic fun.

Yes, congrats. Trillian! I, too, just about lost it when I realized it was your story.

TY to all w/ pinwheel compliments.

I am also contemplating DDO's communication and found the zebra and xylophone reference strange. At first, I just figured he got the zebra from the story, but that doesn't make sense since he would have had to make the commercial before the taping of the show (at least that's how it normally happens, right?). I'm clueless about the xylophone. Here's hoping he doesn't ask us to make one of those next... Laughing
