Piano

Sorry, me again.
Those black and white boxes remind me of piano keys.
Three white, 5 black vertical, 1 single, 3 lots of two black keys together.

The text says 'mechanically inclined'

Wonder if that's a mechanical piano?

Method

All I did was put the entry in a grid and connect the matching letters (B to B, F to F, ect.) in the same row or column.

The piano thing would definitely fit with her Facebook interests.

But it looks like this.

Really, this diary entry takes place before the solved morse one. It relates to some story event taking place before the 'must do something', and I'd guess it will not be that important, some thing like

CHAIRED A MEETING BETWEEN TERRY NANNY AND KING KONG MORE LATER

followed by the important thing that was overheard, which sets up the sides of a conflict.

OK, while I still think it's a pause for funding level 2, at least for the moment this game is dead. They know we're stuck and they won't help, possibly because it's not needed. The game will restart once they have generated another video and that takes time. We need to drop it.

I fully believe that the lull during the holidays was more than enough time for the PMs to create "phase 2". Due to the intricacy and high quality of the puzzles so far, I believe they probably had it finished before the game even started.

I don't think there is any way they would go to the trouble of leaking a map over the course of weeks indicating a personal meeting where ingame characters got to interface with us, have the worker confrontation, drop the $ clue and pass off the MM diary without having a next step planned, or completely finished.

Given some of the previous puzzles, I think what we need is in front of our face, we just have to figure out how to decipher it.

There were dozens of posts daily during Nov and Dec regarding all things TIMM, so the brainpower was much higher and the puzzles were solved quicker. There is only a trickle of posts now, meaning the player base is not as high, so those of us still following have to try harder.

TIMM, if we are missing something to figure this out, please leak it to us. The game is not going to go viral. The original video, while very well done, campy and off-color, is too long to entice a 3 second attention span generation. Please allow those of us wondering what the hell is going to happen some closure Razz

I really want some info on all those job applications. That was before the holidays. Sad

The pdf about the Blackstar job opportunities is being hosted at the wiki. I have to agree with taylor. There no way they planned out all of these elaborate things without having something else planned. The key to the rest of the game must lie in the unsolved diary entry. If we figure out what the diary entry says, we open the gates to the next stage of the game. Maybe it doesn't even say anything of value. Could just be like the other two, but the perceived difficulty tells me that it is worth solving.

I was researching various basic ciphers the other night, but none seem to be indicative of the kind of code we have been presented with. The high frequency of F's and high rates of repetition should be a sign of how to decode it, but I am not seeing anything. I still hold that it must be related to the second grid in A Reasonable Haven based on the underscores, unfortunately it appears to be more complicated than the other grid was. I tried adding up the numbers in each column to fill the underscore spots. This ended up with all values under 26, so I used the numbers as an alphabetical index. This ended up with gibberish, so I tried various values of rotational decryption on the letters(Caesar cipher style) and one value produced only letters from A to G inclusive. This prompted me to pull out my guitar and play these chords, but it didn't really sound like anything I had heard before. Perhaps this is somehow related to the music theory presented earlier.

I dunno, I'm obviously pulling for straws here, but hey, at least I'm trying.

Can you show us what you came up with? Though music notes only run A to G, there are mutiple places on the Grand Staff that can be "A," it might be interesting to plot the notes visually. I'd love to see your work!

If they really are just taking a break to gain some funding then they aren't going about it right at all. Even during the holiday lull we were still gettting twitters from Chuck and the occasional call to Joey. None of the numbers work anymore and there's complete silence from the PM's (except the twitter from Chuck about the song, but thats not progressing the game). I'm seriously hoping that they just aren't gonna give up on this and if they're not then they need to do something fast before they lose all the players interest. After we finished up with Jan 17th meetup I left it stoked that the game wasn't over because I thought that would be the end. That was weeks ago and its been almost completely quite since. The PM's need to get out the paddles and bring some life back into this game before its too late

I'm afraid I agree regarding the radio silence we're receiving. Seriously, PMs, if you're out there and looking, we need some more consistent communication from you in one way or another. ;__;
