ARGs and Politics?

You could relate tons of works of fiction to political issues, because (like FLmutant said) political topics are essentially human issues. To avoid a work of fiction solely because it tackles important issues is a bit silly. For example, I don't know anyone who didn't watch WallE just because it (arguably) had some leftist undercurrents. [Ok, maybe I can find one.]

Would I play an ARG created specifically to promote Barack Obama, though? Probably not. Separating the real from the fictional in politics is difficult enough before you throw an alternate reality into the mix. Now, if it were a game just sponsored by a political candidate (like faeryqueen21 suggested) but had little to do with the candidate him/herself, it might be different. I wouldn't mind playing a game that had a leftist tilt and was subtly sponsored by a political candidate.

In other words, I would not play the Obama ARG, but I would play the WallE ARG sponsored by Obama.

[Side-note: this is my first post in two months. I misssssed you guys!]
