18 months? Jeesh, time sure does fly (wasn't just like a few months ago he was born)? Wow! Lovely tree and so much sentiment.

Hugs to all of you from both of us.

There's so much more depth of beauty and meaning in that decorated tree than I think anyone could hope for. I don't think I've ever seen a tree decorated by so many hands out of pure generosity.

Wow.

Just wow.

Bad news

This is a hard message to write.

Dave has experienced a relapse and is back in the hospital for treatment. Along with the heavy doses of medicine he's getting, he could also use some heavy doses of well wishes and cheer. If you're the sort to talk to the man (or woman) upstairs, this would be an excellent time to do it; otherwise, gather up some positive vibes and beam them towards PA.

Another thing to think about, as Dave mentioned a little while ago, is to join the National Marrow Donor Program. Testing takes less than a minute and consists of a cheek swab.

More news as it's available...

Re: Bad news

I'm so sorry to hear about Dave. I'm sending nothing but good vibes his direction, as well as keeping him in my prayers. Get well soon.

I registered as a donor last year after Dave fell ill. As Addie said, the testing is painless and quick.

By the way, Dave does have his computer with him, so if you want to send him a message, email him at daveSPLATdaveszulborski.com. I'm sure he would love to hear from you all. Smile

Some people have asked how to send Dave cards in the hospital. You can mail them to:

Dave Szulborski
c/o St. Luke's Hospital
801 Ostrum St.
Bethlehem, PA 18015

You can also send him a "cheer card" online through the hospital's website here:
http://www.mystlukesonline.org/patients-visitors/cheercards/index.aspx

Choose the Bethlehem campus from the drop-down menu. If you have a minute, let him know you're thinking of him.

Thanks for the tweet alerts about this. I sent him a cheer card and included a little puzzle in there for him in remembrance of great puzzles from the past.

This is very sad news. It met him at ARGFest last year and he was very kind to me. I've sent him a Cheer Card as well.

Thanks for the information addlepated

He'll get through this too. He's tough as hell, and has a lot to fight for.

We just have to keep up the well wishing and vibes and hope.

Thanks for your updates and also for posting the link to the cheer cards addlepated. I'm definitely keeping Dave in my daily prayers and hope he'll soon be through this challenging time.

I'll be busily folding cranes for him. I've never met him, but I know of his little legacy here at uF. He's in my thoughts.

A little update -

Dave had some great news on his test results after a grueling round of treatment, and they're talking about sending him home as soon as tomorrow. If you're still thinking about signing up as a marrow donor, this would be an excellent time to do it. Very Happy
