it's hard for me to take 4chan seriously, but i couldn't help but notice, has anyone tried anything with the letters that are somewhat red?

i picked out multiple instances of N, M, Y, V, and W, but i honestly can't figure out any purpose for them.

First thing I tried, both all caps and not. At this stage, my inexperienced behind is inclined to think this a false lead. Unless someone has a breakthrough, that is.

I rather not join this one since 4chan is a sick site and it's risky going around the site looking for clues. One time they put up actual child pornography.

Maybe try thinking about it this way. When you're on 4chan, what is all around you?

Some possibilities:

*Posts
*copypasta
*cats
*/b/
*/b/tards
*porn
*The Internet

This is necromancy of the worst sort, so I'll start by apologizing. This thread is, however, one of the first results that comes up when you search for the text. It popped up again today, which was my first time to see it. I've been doing a lot of statistical image analysis recently, so this one piqued my interest.

First, interesting features. There's a white (255,255,255) border on the left, bottom, and right. It contains no information. Outside of the border, there's a uniform column of completely black (0,0,0) pixels on the left side. Since the image is asymmetrical this way, it's interesting but contains no information. The key, which is all around you, does not appear to be the border.

The background inside is not black - it's (1,1,17). Once you're a pixel or two away from the body of a letter, it returns immediately to that color. There's nothing hidden there. The constant background means to me that there's no steganography by bit substitution, unfortunately. As you approach the border on the right or bottom, but not left, it becomes (1,1,14) then (0,0,9). When it approaches the bottom right corner, (1,1,11) as usual, but (0,0,7) from the left and (0,0,8) from the bottom. There's no apparent reason for those numbers to be different. We're out in the middle of nowhere and the flanking values are all the same.

There are three color layers in the image and as some have pointed out, the image isn't just black and white. Is every letter the same as every other instance of the letter? As far as I can tell, no. For instance, if you shift the image to the left 18 pixels then subtract, the consecutive Ls and Es almost vanish. What's left over is nearly invisible, but there are some artifacts. The same is true with the consecutive Ss at a different shift. There's still something left over. Red layer is, in general, smeared to the right. Green, to the left. Blue, in both directions. Is there any relationship among the layers?

A lot of the pixels fall on clearly defined lines. Removing pixels that fall along those lines would leave you only with those pixels that don't follow the rules; i.e. if you're talking about the distortion usually associated with 3d images, these would be clustered in the areas where there's supposed to be depth. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there's any coherent information stored in the smearing. However, these artifacts are probably tell-tale. It's certainly not plain old motion blur.

Grammatically, there are some interesting oddities. "Counter-intuitive" is not usually hyphenated. "Bear" is incorrect, as is "oranization." They can't decide whether they want "feeble-minded" or "feeble minded." "The more feeble-minded one is" has a singular subject, but "the more structure they crave" is plural. "Therefore," in one place, but in another the comma is lacking. I'd have preferred a comma before "if you will."

Again, apologies. I probably won't post more about this unless I find something interesting in an analysis of the file itself, since the image seems to be unhelpful. I just thought those artifacts were a little interesting.
