This is the first ARG I've managed to get in on the ground floor of, and I'm pretty jazzed about it. Have been a lurker forever, but have always missed the games by a few weeks or so. Hopefully not so this time! Smile

I know what you mean, this is probably the second or third time I've been able to get in on while it was still starting and I've been doing this for a few years now

Module

I applied for a module to give my paper-grading bot the ability to grade essays, not just multiple-choice tests...lame, but all I could come up with on such short notice. Nothing since then, naturally, but...

I applied for one to help out the robot that i invented to maintain my vehicle...

I am a very enthusiastic inventor that likes to tinker with robotics... and I would really like to test out the new Enhancement Module on the robot that I developed to maintain my vehicle. Every time I pull into my garage it checks the tire pressures, liquid levels, and many other things in hopes that I may be able to prevent a mishap with my car!

I think the enhancement module will do wonders in pushing my robot to the next level!

Thank you so much for you time.

i thought it would be enticing since it is about an invention that helps keep me safe... and an invention that interacts with other machines... but we shall see what happens next...

Received their newsletter.
It includes the following contact info (don't think I saw a phone number on their site):

I don't see if anyone else gave that number a ring, but I just did, it is a simple message machine. Simple message, I left my name and cell number... we shall see what happens...

Did anyone notice the link the robotics contest on the 28th. I suspect if this is like past games that may be when something goes down. So if anyone is in the area and has time to kill I don't think it would hurt to check it out. Might actually learn something.

yeah, they sure are interesting. neat that they would include a more sophisticated (and less noisy) version of that weird dog-like robot (which is real, and oddly enough, was featured briefly in the ARG/viral for the sarah connor chronicles tv series)

Looks like an OOG event to me - though would be cool if someone went down in case Skynet did show up!

Every single page gives me an error concerning something in the code of the page. However, here at unfiction I read that every page has some sound, so that must be the error since I never hear sound when I click on something. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Well, the pages at skynet research do trigger an error for me:

Code:

thisthing is not defined:

onload(load )
   thisthing();

I don't think this has anything to do with any sound they have because I saw the same error from two different computers (home and office)... at home I hear their sound when the pages load (things like 'Welcome to Skynet Research'), while at work I didn't.

Why? No clue; I'm using the same browser in both places.

Sorry, the sound is fine. I thought there was some sound hidden, but even that I can play. However, the thing with the password box if you drag your mouse of the P of products does not work for me Sad
I think it has something to do with that errors. Damn it! Does someone how to fix this?

What browser (and version) are you using ?
If you are using Firefox I recommend updating it to v.2.x.x or later, and installing the Firebug add-on. That way you should be able to get more info on the error (and possibly resolve the issue, or report it to the people behind skynet)
