Futuristic Clothing Ideas

mm kay, so I'm working on an ARG right now, and I need some idea's for Futuristic looking clothes.

I mean, I already know what i want the soldiers to look like so thats no problem. but we have 'civilians' in the game that need to fit in with the time period/Culture.
(there are two cultures the Rebels and Big Brother basically.)
So does anybody have any ideas or any input on how to make the clothing?[/url]

It's my observation that fashion trends since somewhere in the era of the Renaissance can be traced to a previous fashion trend. Even the 'street urchin' and 'grunge' looks of the 80's and 90's respectively were pretty much the assemblage of the flotsam and jetsam of previous fashions. If you wanted to use a timeframe relative to our real one, I'd say look back 10, 30, and 100 years and guess which will probably seem most interesting in the time you wish to portray. (Of course if the timeframe is more than 10 years hence, it'd be pure guessing. Same for 30, etc.) If you think fashion may be more truly novel in the era you're using, it'll still likely be based on elements that exist now - and probably combined in ways not expected. You just never know how some might apply existing clothing to new uses.
