A lot of escape sounds like recent lines from Melissa.

The plot does too. She invades a foreign computer. A female (in that case an avatar) tries to kill her. She eliminates the threat, takes over the computer and continues her mission.

 		Help!
Hey gus, I've been reading/lurking for a while now, but I finally had to register and come to post. I had registered much earlier but didn't get the confimration E-Mail until just now. *curses at slowness*

Anyway I am having some trouble, whenever I try to download some of the files, they come up as HTML documents, and clicking the link leads to the 404 page. This was happening for a while until I tried and then suddenly the files that didn't work were working so I got them downloaded. But now the newest won't download, and the old ones that wouldn't are back to not downloading. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can fix it?

Oh, and also when I load up the links page, dizzy doesn't show that it's been activated. What's going on here?

 		After I heard escape, I had 2 words.

Holy. Crap.

escape fills in the gap between dizzy and jersey, making the jersey discussion go as follows:

dizzy
escape
jersey
reflected
durga

However, the AI talking says "survive, evade, resist, escape" several times. Shocked


I'm going to quit trying to link durga and pqi for now. I still think they link up, but I'm not sure on details right now.

EDIT: reconsidering something I said.

This is listed elsewhere, but I'm just as lazy as you to find it Wink

Try changing the domain and recap some of the letters. People can also try adding ? and anything after that to the filename (query string will just be ignored here.

Essentially Bungie used akami to handle the file load for this one. Wise, but akami must of put in some IP limiters to bottlekneck the traffic. Flipping some of this stuff around just gets around their rules.

Dizzy was downloaded while someone was trying this on "locked" files. Rumors abound that others exist, but Dizzy is the only one we got. Technical wizardy has abounded today.

I'm glad that we did manage to get Dizzy though, helps provide some context. I hope the PMs somehow let us get the rest. They would be... most useful in filling in some of our current holes.

 		Another thought: Date Girl mentioned that Adrien deals in blackmarket stuff, right? What if one of the blackmarket things he dealt in was the AI (Durga) or something containing that AI, that got onto Jersey's PDA? While Jersey was spying on/digging into Adrien's personal things/files, the AI transferred onto his PDA? That would place The Durga conversation after the second blind date, and connect the two.

Now then, I wanted to bring something up that nobody else has, at leats not to my knowledge.

In pqi, Jane seems to mock the cop with a sarcastic voice impersonation of a "valley girl." At first I thought this might be an accomplice of Jane's, but then I realized it was just her being a smart ass. But, is it just me or does Jane's impression sound just like the "sleeping princess"? Any ideas about a possible connection there?

I think the cop is playing back a recording from a previous arrest.

Interesting to think that a hundred years from now we see a valley girl revival though.

 		Assuming the tape speeding noises are segment bookends we now have two complete segments: parasites-eyes from the dinner date and dizzy-durga from jersey at home (links lead to stitched sound files)

edit:and of course the self-complete segment of "Message_Saved" and if you think yes or no links to hey dad then that is complete too. but I don't know about that yet.

Has anybody noticed any direct clues to what universe we're in? All I've seen is that there's a navy which has an Office of Naval Intelligence and some AIs, and the Navy may have a program that seems to be the one Melissa mentions the Castaway is in... And we have colonies on planets other than Earth. That's about all I can see -- a few tenuous connections to the ilb.com saga. And, interestingly, absolutely nothing to link today's stuff to Halo. SPEC Perhaps the ARG has forked off from the universes that inspired it?

Here's another theory to chew on, though it's more brainstorming than anything...

They brought aboard an object, that may or maynot have infected Melissa, right? Could this be memories from the object? IE Durga==the infection AI..

another theory is of course Durga == SP.


perhaps it's time to email Margrat asking if she knows a Durga?
