Okay, this is where my notes and your narrative begin to diverge a bit. I think this job is the one that had the JOBID: 4nhjytgf17zkljuw13hcfgju3rf86ws87lrfgtyh8qz1snuw13ythuj16wujfg3c and utilized the Barierascu charity article as the key … internally, we called that "the St. Anthony I-Ching Auction".


What you then describe as the "These Hands" job we referred to internally as "The Commentary" (JOBID: 5bhcfgju32oi8mju66hytgfr855cvfre32oi8mju2o28iujh855cvfre5wscdfre) and was, in fact, a dialog about the master key for "the St. Anthony I-Ching Auction".

Here we get to the meat of the solution … and this is SO CONFUSING to try to compare. It looks to me like we have ONE character difference between the solution I have recorded in our notes and the solution you sent me, which looks like a different parsing of the first 22 characters of the text (your solution starts s"e and mine starts ST"):

So I suspect that is a transcription error on OUR part … the T (now that I've solved it yet again) appears to be an error (but I don't have the physical article in front of me anymore – I'm working from the scan of you guys have in the wiki, so it might be I'm replicating an error based upon working from that … I didn't keep good notes of the grid as I constructed it then.)



So among your theories, it is either option #2 or option #3 … either the notes I have up from February starting with sT" were an error, or you guys have some kind of error with the first three characters in how you developed your grid. If in doubt, blame me. [note from Rowan: don't worry, I will.]


Now, I guess, for the fun part … the questions:

What you were actually solving was the Sculptor's key for Job #2 … what you never saw were HIS replies to that job. The game play assumption at this point was this: since you then had access to the Sculptor's key for this job and hopefully knew how to duplicate his "cipher fist" you would have picked up the conversation with the original poster and provided the next reply and, in the process, done the Sculptor's work for him.



That should give you some fun to play with as a "what if" of how that would have gone

Okay, you're right about that we should have been going to Job #2. Don't know why I remembered it wrong (maybe repressing bad memories). I'd say I hope I wasn't entering the keys on the wrong job to begin with, but based on the thread I'm sure someone was entering the codes on Job #2 if I wasn't. Plus, I can see two errors between the two keys:
s"ee vs sT"e and h$dio vs h$iio so I was doomed to begin with. I'd go back and check, but alas it's not there anymore. Very Happy

ETA: The decodes. I'm not sure if the diamond/club part makes sense, but I'm going on what we had before (Queen = comma, King = null, Page = zero, Two Ten = 20, etc)

 		Rowan thanks for the recap and digest of the safeget decodes and messages. Thanks to Brian for being so kind as to answer your queries about MLM safeget. I'd love to say I just had an "aha" moment, but sadly I can barely remember stuff from a month ago, let alone a year ago. Wink
