I'm going to assume it should be broken and that this will trigger the next event that may lead to us being able to decode more of the diary.

Honestly, when I first read that tweet I thought for sure he was telling us to break it. Now lets all argue about whether he meant to tell us to break it or not, haha

We already decoded the entire diary

i am so depressed right now that this is STILL being discussed... what is the issue with taking a risk and actually playing the game?

inaction on the part of the players is not a form of decision-making. i don't want to speculate about tangents and read new posts that just retread what we've already done. the only potential risk of smashing it is that milwaukee collapses in on itself and the game moves forward from there - which is better than nothing. we did nothing for two months and in hindsight it's very obvious how well that worked out.

the PMs obviously have no plans for what happens if we simply do nothing and wait for the story to progress.

forgive me if i sound like a dick. this could always be chalked up to bad game design on the part of the PMs but from my point of view i just don't understand why this community is being so indecisive.

Break it,its a win win situation

ok lets think of the parts of smashing this thing that could be win/win

milwaukee remains intact
*story gets a boost, and we can continue
*fun of chasing worker with onions(aka family trees)
*we get to end the debate, and break open a trophy, maybe it has a powerstone in it(better prize!)

milwaukee gets blow-ed up
*NO MORE BLACKSTAR
*We get to more godseed videos(They be evil and spinny but ya gotta love em)(maybe)
*we get to end the debate, aned level a whole city all at once.(kneel before Relia and her awesome chisel Twisted Evil

srsly
nothing new except for random "bad stuff" has happened since taking it a part a little. And since you've put it back together again nothing has happened but some random "bad stuff keeps happening"

To steal from Dan Savage a little: BTMFA (break the mother f------ already)
What is the worst that could happen? More/different game path?

Man, such an indecisive community.

agreed, lot of pressure, having the power to decide the fate of milwaukee, possibly even the world (where Hamburger is pronounced ham-BUR-ger)

god
even his twitter about the band with the TIMM song on Myspace said "This is what the Champion Dynasty Fund Gets You" ... which was the only thing for weeks... then taking it apart a little gets a bunch more.

I would have broken the crap out of it a long time ago, but that's just me. I can't handle all this "precious"

Pretty much. Unless there's an influx of votes the majority says it's time Little Red Riding Hood has to step off the path. I voted to wait, but I'll switch to smash it.

I'm not liking being me, either. At any rate, I'd like us to decide the fate of the Fund before Saturday morning -- this is when I'll be smashing it, if we decide that. (I work during the day, and am not about to be outside with a sledgehammer after dark. Also, I need to charge the battery for my camera.)

My concern here is that a lot of you are taking Chuck's message as reverse psychology/sarcasm -- but then, how would he have possibly communicated it if he really HADN'T wanted us to smash the turkey? So I'm still trying to revisit his history of tweets for true enlightenment.

I have no problem (other than incredible, enduring sadness) with smashing the Fund so long as it advances the game, because I do love the shit out of TIMM, but I do feel it is important to record this earthshattering event for your enjoyment (also I already picked out a song to play on the video).

I think that smashing the bird is a mistake. I get this from the tweet that says '... I hope nothing else breaks.' I think that assuming this tweet is sarcasm is unwarranted. That, plus the obvious references to all the bad luck items makes me think that breaking this isn't the way to go.

I think if it was to be broken the message would be clear.

I also don't agree that"majority rules" has been decided as a way to proceed. Even if that were the case, I suspect there are a lot of players that haven't even read this thread or voted.

Relia breaks something she cares about for no purpose, change or effect on the game. Or, perhaps even worse, it might negatively effect something else that was planned. It could all be just a big waste.

Just don't break the base. We can buy a new turkey.

Bad stuff happening = stuff happening. Otherwise it's nothing happening at all.

My opinion is that breaking the thing may not cause anything to happen. Hence it would be a waste. Also, as mentioned above, Chuck said he hoped nothing else would break.

I think it is completely up to Relia to decide what to do. As she is clearly and understandably attached to her piece of swag, I support her completely if she doesn't want to break it. There is no direct indication at all that is what she should do. And I don't think replacing it is the same as the original.

On a META note, there has to be a hundred other ways to move this game forward, should that be the PMs intent, so I don't think it is on Relia's shoulders to make the game move forward. That is the PMs job. If they aren't moving the game forward in a way the players find satisfactory, that is a different issue; but it isn't Relia's problem.

And, to be unforgivably repetitive, my take is that we were asked not to break the damn thing. But even if it were absolutely clear that the PMs wanted Relia to break it, I would still support her choice to say "no, i don't want to break this."

Haha, i'm getting more and more entertained by the idea of breaking this thing even if we're not supposed to do it. We're bound to get some sort of great reaction from Chuck either way.
