Hi [Olorin],
Thank you for the heads up.
So, the rumors are true.
They have sent the Rumanian to

If your info is true, I do not

Adam survived by sheer luck and
it seems he is only save cause
S.T.V. are no longer aiming for

As for May 1st. I have no idea

none of us know what the future

I tried with all my might to clarify that 'dots' image, but my mighty mojo was just not enough. There's certainly something there, and it's almost clear enough to make out, but... dammit.

So I just read through this thread, thinking "hey, this one looks really active and not too much catching up to do ... "

Can I just say, holy crap! This is a fascinating game, and I'd love to join up, but I am so far out of my league with most of the puzzles so far it's not even funny. Sad Guess I'll have to be content with a good, hard lurking.

Hats off to the masters in here, tho. 'Tis inspiring for wee newbies such as I.

NO! Do not lurk! If you want to play, you must play! This is my first one, by the way. I'll freely admit that most of this is over my head. But I'm still finding stuff, and still doing my best to solve.

Forget the kiddie pool or the shallow end. Jump in here, the water's choppy and we have no idea which way to shore, but we'll get this boat into harbor if we have to push the damn thing. And we can always use another able hand.

That is not correct. There is one who knows what the future brings: "YourFutureIsMyPast". Smile

No this was related to the issue with the cypher being wrong.
Qs and Rs were messed up
lemme find you a link, brb

http://tso.wikidot.com/going-places-puzzle
In the 'Going Places puzzle' we first got an encoded message in the image with the Knight as background.
Then TSO posted a corrected version, adding spaces between words, and turning some Rs into Qs.

Sure, TSO asked us to think of how this might have happened, since EYE was not supposed to be able and 'corrupt' the encoding process, but for now I haven't seen any clue as to where this might lead.

We've also seen the PMs make small mistakes before (Adam blog was set to Dutch at the beginning, and a reply to a comment on Adam's blog mentioned TSO's avatar image when the comment that prompted that reply did not mention it, at a time when no-body had mentioned TSO to ADam yet...) so maybe itwas just that.. perhaps a mistake due to jet-lag (since *someone* was on one side of the pond and later, apparently, came 'back home' to the American continent...

I looked at that message myself back ythen, and considered:
Quote:
It seems E.Y.E decided to ReQuest some trouble.

But thta leads to IRQ: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interrupt_request
Not IRC (which might tie better with the concept of a chat session we now know about) Sad

 What if?
Noob's view

Hi guys,
I have been lurking this game and topic for a while.
Now I feel I should register and reply.

As a noob on this forum (and to cf in general) it is not my intention to piss off you guys.

That being said, I have to wonder how you come up with certain conclusions:

- Adam's Blog's dutch settings. Was it an error, or was it an ingame device that pointed out his location? All of it seems to fit in the story so far (Amsterdam and Europe in general playing a small role).

- Adam mentioning TSO. Eve was a member before Adam, Dante has a connection to them some way. Adam was in Europe to investigate something, why could he not be familiar with TSO and their avatar, especially if Dante made it and they're best friends?

- EYE sabotaging the encryption. PM mistake? Or (partial) answer to the question TSO has been asking from the beginning "Can E.Y.E. be trusted?"

- The connect the dots poster.
EYE mentions on his flickr page:
"PS. E.Y.E. have received this poster from our friend from the future, so possibly you will need it soon... "
It doesn't say we need it "now", so maybe that explains why people have not found anything inside it. On the other hand, EYE states something about the poster being put up by people around the world, but that part seems to get neglected. (Didn't T.S.O. come forward with info after X people befriended them on myspace?)

- The random activity update on the 209. site. I have seen people wave that away as a way for newbies to enter the game. But Adam states in his blog something about expanding territory in the following days.
Are we waving this aside too easily? Will there be more and possibly, new, links soon?

Please do not take this as negative commentary, as I admire all your puzzle solving so far. Maybe I'm looking too deep into this (noob mistake?). But maybe we are overlooking some pretty obvious hints here.

Dice_, it has been my experience at unfiction that all viewpoints are encouraged here, so welcome! I've been pondering E.Y.E.'s message on his blog as well. 'Can you find my matching location?' sounds like a clue to solving the Connect the Dots puzzle. So far, no luck for me.

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for the welcome!

I hope that this time I will not be the one to wave away theories too fast Laughing

But, wasn't the "matching location" the actual EYE flckr page where the different formats of the ctd image could be downloaded, as well as where the description was added to the image?

On the other hand, bits and pieces from the 209. website are added or unlocked every now and then and I saw that somebody noticed that on google the actual name of the site is eyeamhere.com

I'm currently waiting for a couple of things:
The tso chat.
Another hint for the ctd image (if applicable)
More or new links on the 209/eah website

Hi Dice_, and welcome on board.

[META] Since actually not much is happening I will give an answer (personal opinion!):

Dice_ wrote:

What you call "conclusions" are often "speculations" or just open for discussion. Most people (including me) do not always tag personal opinions as [SPEC] or OOG discussion with [META].

Dice_ wrote:

Regarding "PM mistake" vs. "Storyline": A good PM (and we have excellents PMs in this game) will always try to adapt the story in case they made an mistake or error. Since most ARGs are not totally scripted the story often unfold during the play time. From an IG point of view there are no "errors"just a good explaination or story twist. So it it is pure OOG speculation if people discuss if the new story is just "made" due to an error.
Even though such a disussion could be interesting and funny it does not influence the IG play.

Dice_ wrote:

not sure which post you refer to.

I think everybody knows that we do not need to solve it now. Nevertheless why should people not try to.
And now you are posting a "conclusion" which is not correct. Why do you think people ignore the task to post the posters. Such "tasks" are often found within args (mainly with the purpose to use players to advertise the game). But normally if no one will do so this should not influence the game progress.

Nobody is weavin this away. Again just a misunderstanding. My META comment on this should have been read as "No new information for us NOW". Of course there could be new information on this page, soon. Most people will check regularly.

And finally...
I do not think that people will be pissed of just because of questions. You can always discuss things people post (but better immediately and not several posts later Wink
[/META]

[EDIT] Have a look at the wiki . There should be mainly the "facts" and "speculations" should be clearly recognized. If not than it is open for discussion.

Re: What if?

First: Welcome ! As Bruce said, all points of views and theories are welcome, so don't take my reply here as an attempt to shot down anything; just trying to pass on the info I've seen around.

Dice_ wrote:

From what Adam posted on this topic ( http://adamfhperry.blogspot.com/2009/02/bug-fix.html ), I think it was a mistake. It let us know that Adam was traveling, and his location (presumed) at the time. However, we haven't had an opportunity to do anything with that information -yet.
Adam has returned to the US (presumed) fairly quickly. Perhaps his original location will be useful at some later point.

Dice_ wrote:

Yes, definitely. I agree Adam might have known of TSO at the time he mentioned them. But why would he bring it up since nobody had mentioned it to him ?
The relevant exchange is in the comments here: http://adamfhperry.blogspot.com/2009/02/my-future-is-your-past.html

FOR: Adam, I wonder if you could share details about the image in the top-left of your blog (named Face002_Adam.jpg ). Thanks.

Adam: [...] The avatar I used? Well, if my blog ever gets controversial, then I don't want to be punched in the mouth by a random stranger who recognizes me Smile I expect T.S.O. to have similar motives.

Admittedly, a previous comment by FOR included TSO, where he was reporting the decoded message from the stranger from the future:
FOR: Adam, I obtained a ciphered message from that email address. Once decoded, it reads:
"I have never been able to find out why Dante and E.Y.E. had a fallout with T.S.O.
Somehow Dante and E.Y.E. lost their trust in T.S.O.
Unfortunately, the answer can not be found in the future, so maybe we can find it
in the past.
Your Future Is My Past? "

But none of us had asked Adam to compare his avatar to TSO's, or even indicated we knew anything about TSO... I still feel like Adam connected the two on his own. Whether that was done to prompt us to look in that direction or simply as an oversight I can't say.

Dice_ wrote:

- EYE sabotaging the encryption. PM mistake? Or (partial) answer to the question TSO has been asking from the beginning "Can E.Y.E. be trusted?"

I think we'll need more data on this topic. If EYE messes up again that will be an indication. Certainly, I would expect that, if EYE was not to be trusted, his 'sabotage' would lead to some consequence that would be negative for TSO. For instance, EYE could mess up the encryption so that it would lead to nonsensical or erroneous messages.
For now, I'm filing it under a simple mistake, but flagging it as noteworthy and definitely a possible example of EYE's progressively 'breaking away' from TSO.

More interesting to me is that EYE has seemed a bit... un-human since the start... neutral... almost like a computer program/AI (or A.EYE ?). The problem with the encryption could indicate the AI is 'awakening'.. and might now have its own agenda. But that's speculation on my side.

Possibly. Definitely, if people can print the poster, post it somewhere (legally), take a picture and upload it, I think it can't hurt. I'm tempted to post it at our work billboard, but I haven't had time to do that yet.

Yes, I imagine so. My theory is that we should keep an eye to all the words that appear and where they lead.
Here you can see the list of words that appear on the page, and which ones are linked to other places: http://tso.wikidot.com/e-y-e-s-diary#first-page

Thanks for adding your thoughts here; I know for sure I don't have a clear picture of the whole story... and I'm a total newbie at this; also, thanks for reading all the way ! Smile
