If for no other reason, I'm pretty sure BB (yes, that's your nickname now, deal with it) would burn his first born child before burning the diary, unless the game absolutely called for it.

Surprisingly I am a wiccan and did perform a ritualistic sacrifice

I also don't know how to make sarcasm tags so you'll all just have to go on believing me, haha

Why does it have to be a Wiccan ritual? It was just ash Wednesday this week Smile

Back on topic, I really don't think we're supposed to smash the CDF. As BigT mentioned, it's already broken in their eyes.

Has anyone told them IN GAME that we've disassembled the CDF? Maybe that's what they are waiting for.

I sent a couple emails to people saying that I know someone whos thinking about destroying it. Or somthing along those lines to see if theyd respond, but noone ever did.

Perhaps we should alert them that it has been disasembled

Seems like it really isn't playing the game to sit back and ask the PMs to explicitly say what to do, like having them solve that last entry in the diary.

All of the diary entries have been solved. This has been documented in the diary thread. Perhaps you're thinking of the long walk graph in A Reasonable Haven. As far as most people here see it, that is the only thing left unsolved, though I think we may be horribly mistaken in this assumption. We've been notified by a PM OOG that we're missing something. To me, that sounds like we're missing something in its entirety, not like we haven't figured something out that we already knew about. If I'm correct, there is something that no one thought to consider being a clue. If memory serves me correctly, this has happened multiple times before.

I'm aware that i might be too late in saying this. But i'm starting to have doubts about smashing the CDF. The more i look at Chucks Twitters the more i get the impression that he's trying to steer us away from the CDF and towards the bad luck/broken mirrors/Treasure Hunter M idea.

eOgas:

I know it was solved, but sitting back and waiting for the PMs to say exactly what has to be done with the Fund is a bit like if everyone gave up with the last diary entry and had the PMs solve it instead.

And the Fund very well seems to be what the OOG message could have been talking about, since finding "Uh-oh" as led to twitter and facebook messages that are moving things along.

My vote: it won't change the game either way

There's probably nothing in the turkey, but I thought I'd ask does the turkey feel oddly off balance/make any kind of noise when shaken/mysteriously sticks to magnets?

From the facebook statuses/twitters/youtube comments, it seems like the dismantling of the base was bad and breaking it further can't be good/helpful, from the point of view of several characters, at least how I read it. If putting it back together would help, I would think they would mention it. If breaking it further would do serious harm, I would think a character would say such. Seems like maybe some kind of living power was contained in the thing, and by dismantling it, it was released and has to be recaptured to do any good. (Maybe shouting bonub was a way of releasing a bit of the power in the CDF without releasing the beast.)

if it is coincidence you are searching for, you might want to re-evaluate the level of participation on the part of the PMs since, oh say Jan. 16/17 or so. your time line referencing the CDF and in-game activity is more than just a bit off here.

the PMs were also non-existent for more than a month over the holiday season, only to resurface in time for the long planned Central Park meet-up. since that time, (oh, and don't forget the startling BONUS count-down revelation the day before), there have been no developments to speak of.

the excuse for silence and lack of game progression was blamed on a "power outage" in December/ January. the new excuse seems to be a run of bad luck striking Milwaukee.

Relia taking the bird apart simply gave our friends in New York something to twitter about when they had nothing else to say/ no game developments to offer.

but by all means, if you so desperately believe that smashing the bird is the answer to get the game moving, then take the lead and do something about it! go buy a replica trophy and post pics of it smashed to kingdom come. no one ever said Relia couldn't "loan" you the CDF, now did they?

c'mon. if you're so sure, play the game! we could always figure out later that the statues were somehow "switched" by a rebel sympathizer, now couldn't we?

my guess is nothing will happen as usual. sorry, but someone needs to call the coroner on this thing and get an official time of death notated for posterity sake. the game was great while it lasted, but it is what it is now. TIMM has finally become the wasteland that was foretold. surely you know what i'm referring to...
