Re: too Late?

Hey Soggy,

I received my induction yesterday, so they're still around.

However, at one point towards the end you'll be told to find a phone booth, which is where I had to throw in the towel. I just couldn't find it. So, maybe it's not around any longer. I think there's an earlier posting in this thread that also says so. You might want to take the piece of information that you're supposed to find at the phone booth from that posting instead.

Interpretation

I spent my time under the shower today to think a little about what the ideas behind all this and the claim that this is not "just a game," so here's my take on it, in case anybody's interested.

I think that it's a very accessible low-threshold offer for an average "Joe the plumber" person like myself to learn about the joys of (and learn to enjoy) nonconformism and subversion in a fun and non-threatening environment. A pretty clever way of agitation, if you will. Make it fun! A bit like MP3 and file sharing seduced millions of otherwise law-abiding citizens into becoming pirates. They didn't realize that they were in the process of bringing down the music industry. They were just having fun by sharing with their friends. Just like we are just having fun by playing this game.

Currently, society is a wall of uniform bricks/people and the idea behind all this is to insert a couple of not-so-uniform bricks here and there to destabilize the whole thing a little. And with a bit of luck it'll become the MP3 and file sharing of the established order.

I like it. Invite as many friends as possible, I'd say. Smile

You are correct! That phone booth got jacked. I was by there in the last week or so to see if the note was surviving, but instead I found this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jaschu/3320774615/

Call now, and when you can, press on, press forth.

Pounding pavement
and figuring out how to discuss all of this

Hey, guess what I learned today!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
For one, that urban sasquatches can get down. Rock steady, bigfoot.

More later, for I and a few others have come into some heavy knowledge and/or light reading. Today involved being out and about in the Mission and downtown. But there's lots that needs to be done on my end, like processing it all and figuring out how to take photos of the back of a very small thing.

Hey everyone! Yes, Nonchalance was definitely on the move today. As of right now, I am not 100% sure who has or has not been contacted for the events that occurred today. I will give a brief overview, but I will also make sure that nothing is ruined. If you have been contacted by C14, but are not scheduled to meet up until later DO NOT READ

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

A few people were contacted recently by Commander 14, telling us to go to a certain payphone in the city. The phone rang and we were told to to further down the street. There, I was ordered to dance. At that moment loud music began to play from behind a wall nearby, and a guy dressed in a red jumpsuit carrying an old 80's boombox on his shoulder began to dance along side of me. At that point I was handed a map. The music stopped and I was left alone in this parking lot, with the offical radio transcript.

This transcript more or less covers everything I need to be done in order to proceed to the next act. Which include (but are not limited to) retrieving a "hobo coin" and buying a letter addressed to Eva sent by her mother, along with buying a "tooth". Completing the "hidden track" walk from the Sound of Ascension CD, and visiting "Hip hop shoe repair".

Now, I met up with Jason7au today, and we actually did all of this together. We talked with a hobo to receive the coin, where we got quite an earfull about conspiracy theories. And we visited the shops to get the items in question.

Overall, things are moving... and more information is coming. Dont worry, I think more of you will be contacted in the future, just keep digging

If you have any questions, PM or email me at brettlowersSPLATgmail.com

I think I'm going to try to get a separate forum and a blog started so you guys can follow the going-ons of EPWA and the search for Eva.

To the people who were not called, do not fret.

I do not think this means the game is "over" for you.

What I think this was designed to "test" who could be "trusted" thus far. There are many MANY people playing this game, and the PM's needed a few people who they knew understood the story so far and needed someone who they could possibly give info to.

There are many people playing who are not on this forum. So yeah, I think most of us have finished this act, but we'll let you know more when we know whats up.

People.

"There are many MANY people playing this game" -- oh man, that's seriously good news to hear. That's been on my mind lately, considering the INCREDIBLE effort put into this thing at every step. I must have walked 10 miles today, easy, and we still didn't ring every bell. Got home, smacked myself in the forehead. "Oh, THAT."

> take photos of the back of a very small thing.

Use a ~10x loupe (around $10), or binoculars?

Well, there are a lot of people just starting out, but are not as involved as others.

What I can say though is that the word of nonchalance is being spread through the people following along. So, tell everyone you can. Put up flyers and stickers. Also, get yourself a black box (&_donate) from the EPWA to help you spread the name.

Couple More Steps for us

We had to stop after receiving the transcription, so the further steps
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
(coinage, teeth, letters, and shoe repair... if I've left something out, please let me know)
will have to wait for other days, but I am so looking forward to them.

If anyone got a picture of Mr. Fur, please post (properly spoiled, of course) as I'd love to have one!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

That's it... get the tooth, the letter, and as for the shoe repair, there seems to be no shop on 16th and valencia... however there IS a newsstand... that's open between 3:00 AM and 10:00 AM

Also, as for the hobo coinage, we visited the Pianoman today. We got the coins BUT he insisted that we take all of the coins with us (there was a good 10 in there) because he just didnt want them anymore. We tried to nonchalantly put them back down next to his piano, but he yelled at us to take them, haha. So you can go see him if you want... but no coinage will be there)

Also... fun fact. We have reason to believe that the "urban Sasquatch" MAY be the Bobby Peru. Not sure, but it might just be.

Thanks for the tip on p-man... we did look for him at Montgommery, but it was 5:00pm by then, anyway. Looks like it'll be a trip to
C-town.

In order to continue spreading the word, I've decided to create a new blog

socialoutsiders.wordpress.com

It will be a in game/oog site updating what is going on. So, keep an eye on it.

"Radio is a sad salvation"
but it's been updated on the EPWA site.

More info about the radio program is now available. Do go check it out. In fact, doing so may put you in synch with the Sunday antics. (However, you perhaps may not get a chance to dance with the boom box guy and the urban sasquatch, and for that I am truly saddened.)

Haha, that's cool that we were given a sneak-peak. Yes, if you are wondering what we are blathering on about, make sure to get yourself one of those transcripts. It'll let you know what to do next.
