Durga

Didn't Dana post a link on ilovebees to a site from India that helped with coordinate conversion or something like that (distances between coords)?

Coincidence? Durga is the name of a Hindi (Indian) goddess with 10 arms. She killed a demon Mahish (sp?).

Am I chasing a rabbit?

It looks like we've lost "pillow."

Can someone explain to me why people are going to go to the locations tomorrow? Is there any clues to point to this besides the 777 number?

So I lied. I couldn't resist posting from work until the end of the Axons.

Because we're desparately hoping that the times will replay and we can catch the missing .wav files. So do you want to drive down to Waite Park???? You could help us with you_could Smile

Yeah... I was IN WAITE PARK today... the GPS point is on a road, next to a construction pit. I searched all around and the closest phone booth was at a Diner... couple hundred feet across from the point. Of course, no ring.

Well, pillows gone for the day but we've got law abiding up now and its looking good. Although it looks likely to be another cop one and i'd much rather have a tying in piece to be honest.

What about James, who was a spartan, and I think one of John's closest freinds. He was reported MIA, and could still be alive. (in disguise as Jan's dad) Just a thought.

The reason the SPARTANS were always listed as MIA was for morale. Nobody involved with the project wanted to let on that the SPARTANS could die. So everyone was marked MIA, whether clearly dead or not.

Yes I know, but James actually WAS MIA, nut just marked as that. They never confirmed his death, so they put him as MIA. I know that most of the spartans should be KIA, but they do that because of publicity. (they dont want people seeing their supersoldiers die, its not good for morale)

Hey I dunno if this is trout, but someone mentioned that Jan James's father might be a SPARTAN. I think they have the right idea, but what if he's actually an ODST? In the books there aren't any "slang" terms for the Spartans. ODST's, however, are called "Helljumpers." Also, if daddy taught her some moves to survive a 3 story drop, who better to teach her but an ODST? Lastly, the Spartan's were apparently horrible at flirting with Civ's and they were trained from birth so, I don't see when they'd have the oppertunity. Even with eachother.

I like this theory. I also like the idea it is a different spartan other than John. With all of the advancements in technology this far into the future, and with the intensive, closely monitored training the Spartans endured it seems to me someone would know if the chief had a daughter. I doubt she would belong to him. If that slipped past the unsc it's no wonder the covenant made it to earth.

If you have .wav files that pull up the 404 error, when you get that 404 error screen delete the "transmit." from the Address in your browser.

For example, when I click on Durga I get a 404 at the URL:
http://transmit.ilovebees.com/outbound/durga.wav

But if I change it to:
http://ilovebees.com/outbound/durga.wav

It works great.

Yeah but since when have ODSTs been reffered to as SPECIAL special ops, that implies super secret, super effective, super army types. ODSTs are just hardcore marines turned dropship landers.

They come out of the orbital ships, in personall pods, and land on a planet. For everyday military grunts, I doubt they would be shooting them from space to capture criminals (the original military purpose). They don't ride dropships. XD

Hey you know how we've been missing quite a few axons? What if the PM's wanted us to not get certain ones, Like only one of the axons was real while the others we're fake? also what if we were supposed to get dizzy, just we did actually screw that up? So they planted someone, to give it to us? Or am I being paranoid?

law_abiding has gone hot! I can't listen at work so please transcript asap Laughing

The hi_aiden one sounds interesting, that chick talks to him and makes his date blow up in his face. I have to admit, I always do enjoy when that happens on tv or movies.

One other thing - I dunno if its just being sensitive, but I don't think its proper to make people feel guilty if an axon didn't go hot, as lines like "Come on guys, be there" feel to me. Maybe there's nobody there, maybe some random bystander walked by and got it, or maybe its at whatever time a lot of people are at home eating.

Oh man, not my intention at all. I just meant that I hoped somebody was able to get the call. Not faulting anyone. I'm within 30 miles of at least 3 locations and just couldn't get off work today. I don't fault anyone in the same situation.

Maybe I should have said *crosses fingers* That's what I meant.

I have to point out, Jan James' father is SPECIAL special forces, ODST are run of the mill special forces, nothing outstanding about them except maybe their landing skills. I would say that spartans could be classified as SPECIAL special but odsts, never.

Two things for which I am hopeful:

One, is that the axons which are currently hot remain hot tomorrow. It seems foolish to cancel a connection because its sister connections went invalidated. That means that in most cases only one axon is required.

The second is that in at a few of the missed files, there are two axons in rediculously close proximity, so hopefully if one person goes to one, they can drop off a friend at phone 2 so that the file is guaranteed.

My hope is that tomorrow all of the sounds will be unlocked so we can work on the rest of the phase (if indeed there is more to come).

Sorry if I'm one of the ones making you feel bad Scumbag. My comments have been a little vague. I'm only angry at the people who wouldn't go to a coordinate point because they were absolutely positive nothing would happen and all of us people going to them were idiots. I'm sure a lot of them could have helped us out.
(And as a side note, all our friends in different countries can know that I do not include them in this rant either.) Wink
