[OT] Unusual USPS Mail received

I don't know if this is in game or not, but I did the following:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
submitted my mailing address to secretsSPLATdreadhouse.com as per the see.html puzzle on the 18th

I received a letter in the mail, not addressed to me but with the rest of the info correct, as follows:
Code:

From: Sandra Kolin
P.O. Box 173
Washougal, Washington 98671

To: Christina Alvarez or present resident
<my address>

Contents of the letter are as follows:

August 18, 2004

Sandra Kolin
PO BOX 173
Washougal, WA 98671

Christina Alvarez or present resident
<my address again>

Dear Ms. Nurnberger or present resident,

I am trying to locate any persons who know the following individual:

Francisco Gonzalez
AKA Francisco Gonzalez Schmeda
Has used the first name Ricardo
BD 7-2-65
From: Paraguay

Please contact me at your earliest convenience at 360-xxx-xxxx or thru email at flkolinSPLATxxxxx.com.

Sincerely,
Sanra Kolin

(there is a phone number and email address, but I'm leaving them out in case this has nothing to do with this ARG.

So -- has anyone else received anything similar?

Sounds out-of-game, but why not try calling the phone number and seeing who/what you get?

Just curious why you blanked out all the data that we can use to follow up on it..

Seems like it's a bad idea to keep clues from the rest of us. Smile

Hmm. I don't know, it seems like there ought to be some sort of in-game reference to tie this to the game, I wouldn't be too hasty to assume it's in-game without one. But, I would call the number and see what happens - at the very least if it is out of game you can let them know that they have the wrong person. Or, you could email the address, whichever you prefer.

Also, I agree with you blanking out the phone/address data until we are sure that it is in-game, wouldn't want to freak anyone out.

I posted the letter to see if anyone else had received something similar. In case it was OOG, I didn't want her private info available for people to harass her.

Did a little more research last night, and found this website:

http://www.skolin.pru-nw.com/Prudential_NW/index.asp?acc=36284

Seems she's definitely OOG. Still was strange tho.

My hubby got a snail mail letter once that was someone looking for her father. She had looked up names and addresses through various means and was sending out letters looking for him.

This sounds like this Sandra person did something similar. Perhaps this missing fellow used your snail mail address as a reference at one time in the past?
