For the next major event we should get pretty much everyone involved to go together, anyone agree?

I think that would be an awesome idea! When the next act comes along (not sure when that is however, lol) we should all get in touch.

I don't understand this.
...

How does sharing your slow walk through a secret passage increase true nonchalance? Seems like this methodology is pure false nonchalance. Explaining "what it means" & giving "spoilers" seems like an enormous pile of bufoonish picadillos. The masters remain hidden. The initiates do not give up their trail.

Gettin'

Dang, I was just thinking the other day we should all get together for a greet-n-meet-n-eat or something similar ... count me in for groop activities, yes ... but the experiences that are JI/EPWA, I'm going to do those by myself or with my partner-in-crime depending on circumstance ... seems like with a lot of people you'd wouldn't get the full immersion. If it becomes something that requires a larger number of people (something flashmobby or operating a large industrial press machine, for example), then of course, sign me up.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I can see why Sunday was a Be Alone day.

Guest makes me Sad

It saddens me to see a post like Guest's above. Cannot guest see that part of what is important is to share? Would it have been true nonchalance if we had been asked to dance alone? No! We were given Bigfoot to share the experience with. And how can you not wish to share such experience?

Eva was not alone in her nonchalance. She had the Savants by her side. She had the Savants to dance with.

How can Guest be so blind as not to understand that true nonchalance is always full of buffoonish picadillos (and baboonish armadillos, for that matter). To be buffoonish is to be closer to The Fool, the very soul of Nonchalance.

Guest stop wasting your time criticising us and talk. Tell your story. Tell us how it felt to dance with sasquatch! Otherwise I may hust have to bite you with this tooth!

Out.

anyone know if someone posted radio broadcasts online?

I've been following this, but unfortunately don't live in SF, or even Ca. Anyone know where I can take a listen or download the radio broadcasts???
Thanks!!!

We understand that there is much secrecy behind all of this. The point of us talking about the "experience" is to allow other potential initiates to follow in our path.

We are told to spread the name of Nonchalance, and I think we are attempting to do so in a matter that does not give away too much of what is going on.

At times, things can get quite confusing, and we are just trying to clear up some of that confusion so people can continue their journey.

One Armed

Just had surgery yesterday, but lanning on getting inducted tomorrow, but man feels like i'm very far behind coming in this late in the game.

I have avoided the walk throughs and spoilers as much as possible, but i do have a question.

Is this rabbithole one one could go down with one arm?
I'm in a sling for the next couple of weeks.

Also, Is it normal to have this much IG interaction on the boards?

Seems a little off, that.

Ok, well few things. You can do this with one arm no problem. And no you are not that far off. You're right on track.

Aso for the interaction, it IS against UF policy, and I'm afraid we might get in trouble... not sure what to do about that one. I still think we should move this talk to another forum.

What you should do right now is two things:

Visit the JI, get initiated and read some of the backstory, to get the history of Nonchalance down.

Next, log into EPWA's site and find out where to find a radio transcript. That transcript will tell you what to do next.

All you have "missed" is just some back story and deeper diving into Nonchalance. Dont worry, it's not imperative to the story, more of a bonus to us who have been here since the beginning. Dont worry you are doing just fine Wink

Folks, I am deleting some nonsense posted here. So if you see any weirdness with this thread that's why. Thanks!

Hey TMGE. There is no official download out there, but I think a casette tape exists somewhere. Either we can get it digitized and send it to only you or we can figure out something. Unfortunatley I do not think the PM's will publish it... due to the fact they want people to go see it for themselves.

I'll see what I can do.

EDIT: And thanks ndemeter! Yeah, I think some people are not liking us discussing everything that is happening. Again, thanks for keeping an eye on it.

Inducted Today

Pardon my typing, i'm one armed right now.

Had my induction today!
Myself and a friend went, then later we went back with another friend so he could do the same.

We had a very nice time.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I went with my friend "lucille" and she loved it.
The little discoveries, the secret parks, those were the parts she really enjoyed, and she insisted on returning to the one above the garage when we were done.

For me, most of the appeal lay in the aesthetics and ideas. I dug the clastrophobic but bizarrely active alleyways,
hunting a private eye in china town, and secret general sneaking about, quite nonchalant, in office buildings where we most clearly did not belong.

Up to starting I had genrally avoided reading any of the spoilers before hand, but coming in this late in the game made that very difficult, as so many people had already done the run, and issues had arisen.

I was pleased to see though that they had used 2 clear separate fixes for the recently ripped out phone booth. One on the ground and one in the envelope. There was no way to get too stuck there.

We went back to the Ca. Building with another Friend to have him inducted, while we went to see the Lady. While there we had a couple of nice chats with "yams moongood" and it sounds like they are still getting new players on a regular basis, which is encouraging. She says she will get one or two every day or two. We were the only ones today.

We were also very naughty, and quietly took turns dressing up in the lab coat and posing for photos in the induction room after our induction ended.

Our only hiccup, and my only complaint, is that the infrastructure seemed to be straining under the weight of it's bloating popularity.
It took us about 8 calls to get through to eddies voicemail, it kept being unavailable to each of our phones.
Philosophically, they narrative seems a bit confused right now, but that might be my not knowing all the things yall know. It seems to me that EPWA is really just a front/offshoot of the Jejune Institute, which exists as a valve through which their rowdier members can vent frustration and feel rebellious without actually turning squirrel and leaving the organization.

Which i would love to find out was the case.
It would be great to find out that Eva was a stooge created to keep people like Mr. Jamuel (SP?) and other Savant like burnouts jumping through hoops.
Just one more tol to control their prey.

To then be tasked with either helping the institute or bringing it down would be great game play.

I doubt that is how the game will go, but I am sure they will give something equally as fun. But it does make me wonder what the real world financial point of this is. Who is dropping the resources on this game and why?

It seems to be glorifying the kind of socially acceptable homogenized rebellion you use to sell skateboards and tennis shoes. It seems a very odd choice of black hats vs white hats, the cheezy pretentious beat paint huffing street poets, and the brilliant satire of the evil coporate cult.

It's like cats versus robots, just a very weird mix. But that can make for great adventure I am sure.

Can't wait to get my Transcript and CD (tomorrow most likely)

Soggy Biscuits

Well that post was ginormous.
After scouring the sites, and chatting IG on the irc, I have a very different perspective on it all now.
Can't wait to get caught up with yall.
Has an off sie blog for this been set up yet? You mentioned it once or twice Cap'n.
We could just use the discussion page on the wiki, but i am curious as to what the general consensus is on who's ig and who is not.

S.
