 		Unfiction is like a mini society. Because we are a part of it we must agree to abide by the rules of the society so that we can get along and respect each other as best we can. If someone has a problem with the rules, then they should discuss it civilly.

However you choose to knowingly break the rules and then got upset when people felt you did something wrong. Then you complained that the rules shouldn't have existed in the first place as if that justified them being broken.

That is like having a problem with stealing being illegal and knowingly stealing anyway. Then when you wind up in jail, you self righteously campaign that you should be released because you believe you should have the right to take other people's property.

If you choose to live in our society you must abide by the rules YOU and everyone here has agreed to regardless of whether you believe the rule is right or wrong. Breaking the rules will just get people upset, but it won't change them.

 		To be fair, they've apologized numerous times for breaking the rules, and recognize them now, meaning they will be abiding by them.

They simply don't understand them, and wish to discuss them.
Again.
Even though they've been discussed to death already :P
But that's the discussion for the meta thread linked a few posts back. ;)

I *do* find you to be a pompous ass and view you as coming across as arrogant with nothing to back it up. The sheer ignorance it takes to argue that no one will discuss things with you, when you haven't bothered to read prior discussions on the same topic, is absurd to me. The way this should have gone is something like this:

You guys do things your way, breaking tou. This is brought to everyone's attention and the rule breakers say, "I'm sorry. I will now go research why this was a problem." If, after the research, you have points to discuss you hit up the meta section and do so. It was not the breaking of tou that caused me to view anyone as pompous, an ass, or arrogant. It was instead the responses given when faults were pointed out that caused me to feel this way. Quit trolling and go read.

Actually it is you that are the one who needs to read...

For the last time, I did read, I have read, I will read, I am reading, I can read (well mostly) - and the discussion is continuing in in the meta thread, and I've actually already commented on all of this, but I guess you haven't read it.

And thebruce already JUST said this prior to your post! Perhaps it is you that should be doing some reading? I doubt that this is the end of your 'rant' but how about reading the rules and continuing your 'ranting' elsewhere if you must - this place is for Star to post about here game.

Hope you read this...

Well, I officially think everyone on here needs a cookie!

Calm....deep breath...zen...

So just to clarify I understand your TOS:

1) I will not post as a character
2) I will not post pretending that I am not a character that I am (confused yet?) Wink
3) I will learn to live with the shame that I cannot be trusted
4) I will apologize immediately and go back and read EVERY POST EVER when I make a mistake, before I bring up ANYTHING
5) I will play nicely in the sandbox or go into to the sandbox made for rule breaking, hijacking, fun loving renegades in the future

I think that covers it!

In the meantime... the game has continued! I got a package at my parents house from William! (NO I AM NOT HIM). It invited me to a super exciting orientation in April for a game! I could will win $500! Hoot!
As most people in here seem to be 'meh' or 'whatever' or 'yawn' I will save my typing skills for the meta forums defending my (and my friends') honor and link you to the blog where I have posted images and delicious text (although not as tasty as the cookie you all need). http://arexistence.blogspot.com/2009/03/game-is-not-over.html

And if there is anyone out there who actually still is ok with my existence, I hope you find all of this exciting too!

Location moved!
The game is over. I will still be sharing updates, but I will not longer be doing it here.

Playing William O Wright's wonderful Alternate Reality Game has taught me so many things. On top of it all it has shown me that the kind of games I imagined are possible. This is the reason I love the idea of ARG's:

We live in a complex universe, everyday stories are being woven into the fabric of the world, told through the lives that unfold. The idea of ARG's always appealed to my love of the mystery that underlies everything. That feeling of a story we can just barely see lingering in the crevices of the everyday world. A secret being told that only we are allowed access to, a secret that has the power to unite people from across the world to work together for a common goal. The idea that we could save a life, or the world and no one would ever even know. The idea of a game that interacts with our reality and alters it indelibly. The mystery is what draws us in and the adventure is what keeps us playing.

It is finally crystal clear to me, after years of trying that I will not get that from here. I care about weaving games into the fabric of reality and that idea has no boundaries. As Shadow said, I could be playing at any moment. I wanted to share all of this with all of you. But you are right. I am clearly not welcome with my hijacking, rule-breaking, questioning-everything frame of mind. So I will take my leave.

I have learned a lot here and I thank everyone who made a positive contribution to my desire to learn, grow and engage in the community.
