[TRAILHEAD] a.1002119 A touchy subject. At first I thought this may have something to do with the Strange Object ARG, but after asking they agree it seems different. I got an IM on Yahoo from a 'a.1002119@ymail.com' that is attached.

<Oriza> i think it was fairly accurate
<Wiser> well we were doing it to see how good everyone's hearing was
<him> Has anybody come into contact with Adam Smith recently?
<Oriza> Adam Smith?
<Oriza> Who's he?
<him> Don't trust a word he says.
<Oriza> Um, what?
<Six> him: not here
<Six> trust me
<Oriza> no trailheads here, mate

<Oriza> unless it's for west unfictionopia
<him> Ok, Im just letting you know that. My mouth is now closed.
<Oriza> oookay
<Oriza> anyway
<Oriza> in any case, a bunch of teenagers were crowded around my friend
<Six> mosquito noise?
<Oriza> then he played it
<Wiser> lol
<Oriza> you shoulda heard the hallway
<Oriza> we were all like OWWWW JESUS
* him (MibbitSPLAT chat-solu-C0063442.renf.cable.ntl.com) Quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
Edit: I googled 'Josephine potter psychic'. Apparently Josephine Potter was a character in Dawson's Creek who appeared in an episode entitled Psychic Friends

There's no Adam Smith on the passenger manifests for any of the 9/11 flights, so he didn't die that day. Also, none of the 911 flights were leaving or going to New York, though at least one was coming from Boston.

Yea, plus he's from the 1920's so he prolly wasn't there. So for the sake of the game we tell him?

Quote:
Adam Smith (baptised 16 June 1723 – 17 July 1790 [OS: 5 June 1723 – 17 July 1790]) was a Scottish moral philosopher and a pioneer of political economy. One of the key figures of the Scottish Enlightenment, Smith is the author of The Theory of Moral Sentiments and An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. The latter, usually abbreviated as The Wealth of Nations, is considered his magnum opus and the first modern work of economics. Adam Smith is widely cited as the father of modern economics.[1][2]
per wikipedia.
although, if he were our adam smith, he would already be 200 years old in the 1920's. It might be related somehow though in terms of content.
also. the pin pricks in the back of his neck...im sure others have considered that whoever sent him in the future might be keeping tabs on him via a needle that extracts (or intracts? inserts?) information into his spinal cord.
hell, he might not even really be who he says he is, he might have had the memorys all implanted (ahhh, thats the word i was looking for) there.

Well Adam Smith is not his real name either... just what was given to him.

like i said though, it could be something thematic. such as a hint as to what this person is supposed to do in the future. adam smith, as well as being the greatest economist who ever lived...was also a brilliant moralist. it seems that our adam smith might be facing a moral dilemma soon. get on the plane and return to your own time while the WTC is destroyed....or stay off the plane, and sacrifice your only chance to return to your own time, while saving the thousands of lives in the WTC.
The more i sit and think though, the more i think his memories are implanted and the he is probably just someone contemporary to us (or at least to 2001)...and he is being used somehow as a pawn in a game (pun totally unintentional).

Sorry. Comes from years-- well, months of experience.
Does anyone mind if I initiate contact and tell Adam about the WTC?

Go for it. Any idea what he should do yet? I mean he could save lots of lives and maybe even prevent it from happening.

Oy vey. I have no idea...let's see what he thinks...
EDIT: He's not online, I don't think-- or at least he's not responding to my IMs. I'm going to try to send him an email... am I correct in thinking that his email address is a.1002119SPLAT ymail.com?

I'm pretty sure Adam Smith is a name, from a longer-running ARG which apparently started up again a few months ago?
Edit: NVM it's not Smith.
