OK, I am not the only one playing this one, right? Wink

Anyways, I was watching Robin's new video when I saw something weird. As Robin is talking keep an eye on the laptop and the door behind her. It appears that the laptop starts on, then turns off, then on again. Same with the door: closed, then open, then closed again.

Since it's quite unlikely she did not notice someone entering her room while she was filming it's more than likely that the video was not in the order it was edited. So I am trying to figure out now if that means something. I'll edit if I do find anything.

In OTHER news I also found a boo boo with the game. Other than Sparky, the only reporter on the island before Robin was someone named "PJ Tancinco". Only he is a very very real person that writes for the show. Here's his real life info: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/7/40/81

Why would a writer from a company that is certainly familiar with ARG's make such a blatant mistake?

Is this your first experience with Eqal? Be prepared for endless little oops on their part lol...

In all seriousness, for those of you interested in the show, you should check out the LG15 blog. Lots and lots of info posted there.

"A Note to International Visitors

Welcome to Harper's Globe, a social show integrated with CBS's new mystery event, Harper's Island. If you are seeing this page, then you are visiting the website from a country outside of the U.S. and Canada.

If you'd like, you can continue to the website and watch the story of Harper's Globe as it unfolds and leads into the launch of Harper's Island in the U.S. and Canada on April 9th. However, after April 8th the site will be geo-locked in your region and you won't be able to access it. We need to do this because Harper's Globe is integrated directly with Harper's Island and must be watched in tandem with the television show. If you join, we'll hold your account information, and CBS will work to bring Harper's Globe/Island to your region so that you can join this exciting mystery event."

I heard an ad on the radio today for this. It's a girl talking about murders and asking for help. She mentions the harpers globe website. Drew my interest...

I saw previews for Harper's Island early this morning/late last night on SciFi while watching The Lost Room but was too sleepy to look into it. Just from how it sounded I presumed that someone on this forum would've been on top of it but I would like to play along.

Okay, checking back I found the main CBS site via the link above. I did register too, is anyone here registered in the groups and if so how could I join? I thought for sure there would be an official UF group. I'm just a little lost, wanting to play but would like to start from the beginning and catch up to when the first one begins. Thanks!

I am registered with the site but I haven't joined any groups or anything like that. Are you registered at harpersglobe.com or at the CBS site (www.cbs.com/harper)? One is the ARG, the other is the meta site for the TV series.

Saw episode one today.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
During the commercial break we hear someone yell help me. If you have been following the ARG the voice sounded a lot like Robin's. And according to everyone on Harper's Globe she has not made a post and her twitter has been quiet as well. Seems like she got herself into some kind of trouble.

It's pretty fun

@ndemeter

Are you playing the pick the victim game? I signed up for that but my first pick was just a wild stab because I still wasn't sure what was what. This week my pick is Jimmy the fisherman.

There is the Harper's Globe group if you've signed up for the HG forums, those guys on that board started that one. I started "Clueless in HG" on a whim and actually had people join which surprised me.

After the first episode, my suspicions went to the groom, Henry, but others like his character and think he's really sweet. I did manage to figure out, thanks to someone's screen caps that the killer is a diver, and we figured out that the guy that took the dive bag from the bellhop cart was Joel the Nerd, based on the same clothing. Joel was a background player in the first show. The original victim to begin the story was Trish, the bride's cousin Ben. He was tied up to the ferry's propeller and hooked up to air tanks and regulator, and when the ferry left the dock, the blades chopped his head off but no one on the boat noticed.

The next victim was Henry the groom's Uncle Marty (Harry Hamlin) who made a veiled threat to the bride's father about doing whatever he had to to protect his nephew Henry. Wellington, bride's father, didn't want them getting married or had been revealed to be plotting to sabotage the wedding at some point by hiring one of Trish's ex lovers to show up on the island and try to cause trouble or lead her astray. Shortly after that cool confrontation, Uncle Marty curiously falls through the planks of a wooden bridge, getting trapped half way and some unknown killer hacks him in two.

Meanwhile, back in Harper's Globe, the web story, the character Robin started a social network like myspace, for the "community" of Harper's Island, done for the local paper she's managing. She's snubbed by locals and ends up meeting a cute guy who pays attention to her, they begin to see each other and he, Brent, takes her to Seattle, where they end up in a bar. Brent runs into an old friend named Ben, who says he's in town for his cousin's wedding. The guys get to talking and sort of forget Robin is there, she gets upset and leaves, wanting to get a ferry back to the island. She sees a notice about a wedding party's arrival on the island.

Robin has some issues, secrets, and an interest in a series of murders that happened on the island 7 years before. Her boss tries to discourage her from looking into it on grounds the townspeople have moved on and won't want to revisit it. Meanwhile, she's upset about the sour date with Brent, who later posts on her twitter or something an apology and wants to see her. We leave her as she's debating whether or not to reply.

Also some strange person in this "community" (the fictional one) named Dangerous Wreck is posting warped videos of well dressed guys wearing creepy masks, who are abducting other guys at some university and putting them in the trunk of a car on separate occasions. Another mystery person named Cheshire Cat posted a peeping tom sort of video that appeared to be Brent and Robin making out in the pool during one of their dates and Robin later decides it's disgusting and doesn't want to talk about it (she doesn't want to talk about a lot of things).

From both HG and HI we know that Ben from the bar was abducted somewhere after that point, and after he'd at least changed clothes to the formal suitwear, but before he'd had a chance to put on his shoes. He is tied to the underside of the ferry that will take the wedding party to the island, so he dies as the ferry pulls away.

Now you're all caught up for anyone who finds it interesting and would like to play. The Pick The Victim game is CBS - and involves just checking off one of the characters and watching to see if you're right or not, but the mystery game itself and the webstory is what has peoples' attention in trying to figure out who the killer is and why, and tying the pieces together which seems to have overshadowed anyone's interest in who gets it next. It's been well presented so far. I hope some of you here will look into it!

Video Stills

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgNUh8jc_6A is the video to the Harper's Globe story, I think this was the first video released, titled This Is Just The Beginning.

Some of us have been trying to get screen shots of a couple of flash images but can't seem to get a clear enough one. We're not fast enough. Is there anyone around who knows a better way to extract frames from a video?
If so, there are a few that would be very helpful for us to pinpoint their identities.

At .26ish there is a dark figure in front of someone, brief glimpse of face and eyes, a clear shot of the whole face would help so much. It flashes between the masked guys, and Robin and Brent about to kiss.

At 29 - 30ish, there is a rapid shot of an unknown female very close to dark haired male in a white shirt. This is between the old guy on the ground, a black screen and the masked guy pushing on some other guy's face in the car. A clearer shot of the female and dark haired guy would be helpful. We're trying to figure out who she is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Harper's Globe "brb" image
Wondering what it means.

at some point, @aethre tweeted that DangerousWreck posted a new video. @Harpers_Globe retweeted, but in going to harpersglobe.com, I found a picture with two bees on either side of a pirate kitten. (If I could remember how to post the screen shot here, I would, but that info leaked out in my sleep.) Anyone know why bees would attack pirate kittens? I thought Harper's Globe would stay up for a while.
