I can only assume that other than Navidons love for Karen, his only addiction was the house . Really, it was the cause of the end of his relationship. What would have happened if it werent for that evil house can remain only a mystery.
Seems ARGish. Bit busy to respond. Anybody else want to give it a go?

There is a book called "The House of Dead Leaves" by Mark Danielewski (sp?) that I am sure several members of unfiction are familiar with.
In this book, every time the word 'house' is written in the text it is colored blue.

That's odd. I put it in. Disappeared and replaced just <samuel>. It's samuel.lane.90SPLAT gmail.com

It's being made into a movie, I believe. Probably what this is for ^^ Either that or a sheep's emailing you random book quotes!

He's replying pretty quickly, if anyone else wants to email him.
Seems he's trying to find someone named Rachel, and has no idea who Karen or Will from the book are.
His last response was:
Quote:
Who the hell is Will?
All I remember is I need to find Rachel. I remember meeting her in three weeks.
I remember watching her die in five.
But my memory is hazy.
I don't remember how.
Or where.

OK, I found something:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
When you remove the spaces and the punctuation marks in the body-text, the subject and the quote have the same length. Extract the letters that are in the same place as the Bs in the subject line and you get:
I love you Rachel Wilson .
BTW. the book's title is House Of Leaves .

I have to leave this for now. Need to head out until later tonight. Here's the whole conversation if anyone wants to continue:
Quote:
Me: What else have you heard about the house? Or was that the end?
Sam: What house?
What are you talking about?
Do you know her?
Me: I know of her and well enough. I'm glad she's grown a bit more self-reliant as a result, despite everything else that occurred.
Sam: Karen?
I don't even know her or who she is.
I mean Rachel.
Me: Rachel? No, I don't know who that is. What's been happening? Can you explain more?
Sam: No, I don't know what's been happening. But I have to find Rachel.
Me: Lets start from the beginning. When did you last hear from her? Explain all that you can up to when you last had contact.
Sam: I don't know the beginning. Now is my beginning. Constantly something new.
I can't explain the past to you. It doesn't exist.
Me: Where are you now? Are you a friend of Will? Was there anything left from Rachel? Even if it may seem unimportant, please share it.
Sam: Who the hell is Will?
All I remember is I need to find Rachel. I remember meeting her in three weeks.
I remember watching her die in five.
But my memory is hazy.
I don't remember how.
-Or where.
Me: Was anyone else supposed to meet her too? Or was it just you?
Sam: I don't remember.
I love her.
Me: You may be contacted by some others looking to help you. We want to assist you in finding Rachel, so please do what you can for them.
Sam: I remember that, yeah.
Thanks.
Sam: I remember more now.
6 weeks. I die.
I don't remember how.
Rachel.
Bullet to the forehead.
The first words she says to me are "Oh jesus"
she passes out
ugh, I need to write before I forget
Me: Write whatever you can remember, and let me know as well, if you would.
Did Rachel have any contact information that you can remember?
Sam: She slips me her number as she turns away. I feel tired, so he falls asleep. I wake up at home.
Is this a memory of my dream, or reality?
God, I hate this.
Me: What's the number she gave you?
Sam: Gives. Gives.
Tense is a priority.
I don't remember.
Sorry if the format is a bit of a mess. He doesn't really seem to have much to offer at the moment, but maybe I was just asking the wrong questions.
Edit: Added a few more messages.

Mailed Sam too & asked for more information about Rachel and his location. He seems to be a bit confused...

SPLAT? This looks interesting - I'd like to help. Tried sending an e-mail from my gmail account and it wouldn't accept the "SPLAT" address. Obviously there's something I don't know about these addresses... Please help!

Try replacing the SPLAT with a @. That should work.

Figured it out shortly after I posted. Thanks, though! I'll let you know what I get.
