Guys, walkabout_girl HAS to come BEFORE the interrogation, or esle it makes no sense. She was obviously seen while trying to get the keycard back, the alarms went off, then walkabout_girl is what two security guards are saying to eahc other as they watch her make a desperation attempt to get away, she's caught, and questioned by the police officer.
I mean, she explains everything she's done during the interrogation, so the only logical thing to assume is that it happened before that. Plus, after they leave, the police station catches on fire.

Upon a little bit of further pondering, I'm not so sure this is right. The dizzy -> durga section might come at the very beginning of this whole thing. The missing clips might change everything.

But this is what we've got at the moment. Enjoy.

Missing some files makes this difficult, but I agree with most people except for the placement of two files: Walkaway Girl and Emergency. Here are the two most likely possibilities:

...Nervous -> | -> Emergency -> | -> ?? -> Walkaway Girl -> ?? | -> Law Abiding -> ??

Explanation:
Nervous is the last file in the interrogation. After the interrogation, where James James goes to the waiting room, instead creates a diversion to help spring his daughter (and eliminate any evidence of those tests). Emergency is the result of his diversion. By Walking Girl (note sirens in the background -- from fire in Emergency), it's becoming apparent that Jan is not a normal troublemaker. Either some info came back on her, or until-now-silent-watchers Frank and his partner were there the whole time, but now decide to make their move. Jan makes her amazing escape, which would segue into "Law Abiding". Her sarcastic "That was fun..." leads to mean perhaps more than the interrogation -- hence, the placement of the prior clips.

*OR*

?? -> Walkaway Girl -> ?? | PQI -> Stupid Cop -> Yes or No -> Hey Dad-> Nervous -> | -> Law Abiding -> ?? -> | Emergency

Explanation:
In a missing file leading into Walkaway Girl, we find out Jan was somewhere she shouldn't be. She's trapped and although she escapes Frank and the other guy following her, she's caught by police and brought in for interrogation. In questioning Jan, not-so-smart-cop pointedly asks "What were you doing up there?" Indicating that she was somewhere high (3rd floor of a building, perhaps?) Her father shows up, and after the interrogation, James takes Jan home, then returns to destroy the evidence.

Maybe we'll know more after we fill in those blanks. Right now, it's tough to say either way.

In the interrogation, she is being interviewed for climbing a fence, not jumping off the third floor of a building and surviving. I'd expect a lot more questions and tests if they had tape of her jumping.

On a separate note, I think we're missing a file in the Jersey/Durga thread too.

I have it listed as this way:

Dizzy -> Escape -> ?? -> Jersey -> Reflected -> Durga

The problem is that the dialog doesn't run smooth between Escape and Jersey:

Code:

End of Escape:

Durga (dazed) : Waking Up ... Wake up...Stay Awake...Survive...Evade...Resist...Escape...
Jersey (aggrivated): Look, that was a very nice reconditioned avatar of mine that you just ... (trails off)

Code:

Beginning of Jersey:

Jersey (subdued):  don't what?
Durga (Emphatic): Don't try reinitializing the system with the low-ledux package...

It makes sense that there is another snipped of dialogue where Jersey is still trying to regain control over his system while Durga is disoriented, but the AI is able to recover and assert her control over the system. Thoughts?

Because, if you were an MP who'd just been outsmarted by a 17-year old girl, you'd want to make sure the local police heard about that so they could ridicule you.

You're missing part of escape. Listen here:

Yup, the last line of escape is an emphatic "Don't." from Durga which ties nicely into jersey.

My two cents on Jan James:

I agree with some others that in the clips we're missing, Jan escapes the interrogation. She's at the least allowed to do this by her father, and very possibly assisted by him.

In my mind emergency and walkaway_girl take place nearly simultaneously during this escape sequence, and after jumping Jan joins her father for the drive home in law_abiding. The fact that she makes a sarcastic comment about them being law-abiding is one clue to this in my mind. Obviously we need the rest of the clips to have any idea if this is accurate, but that's my current theory.

Here's my version, I put a lot of thought and effort into it, so I hope it's not flamed to death heh.

KEY
(begin) = tape speed at beginning of file
(end) = tape speed at end of file
[ ] = Speculation

Prologue

[1. Hey Solider]

Main Story

(begin "Jersey Meets Durga") dizzy --> escape --> jersey --> reflected --> durga (end)

NOTE: [This could be where Durga begins to show Jersey, various things about Jane, i.e. memory files, which is why we get the next two "Stories" ]

Story A

A- (begin "The Dare") ______ [2. blip] --> walkaway_girl --> ______ [3. pillow] (end)
B- (begin "The Interrogation") Pqi --> stupid_cop --> yes_or_no --> hey_dad --> nervous (end)
C- (begin "Ride Home") law_abiding --> [4. you_knew] (end)
D- (begin "Protection") emergency (end)

Story B

A- (begin "Failed Date") parasites --> eyes (end)
B- (begin "Sulking") beer --> four_goats (end
C- (begin "New Date") our_hoodlums --> much_lifting (end)
D- (begin "Aiden") meditape --> [5. you_could] --> say_something (end)
F- (begin "The Truth Revealed") message_saved (end)
F- (begin) "Spy") "guilty" (end)
G- (begin "Revenge") tuna --> hi_aiden (end)

Missing: blip, pillow, **hey_solider, you_could, you_knew,

** On the file dump site, I found hey_solider, any thoughts on this one?

Speculations:

Note: Every file name seems to be a line from each scene, so I will explain my decisions for where I put the missing scenes, by offering an idea about a possible line of dialogue in that scene

2. blip
Guard 1 : "Hey, there's something on here."
Guard 2: "What do you mean, something?"
Guard 1: "I dunno...it's like a..like a blip in the security.
Guard 2: "Well, pull it up and see if we can find something."
*alarm sounds*
Guard 2: "Shit, I think that's our blip."
Guard 1: "Who is that? Is that a girl?"
Guard 2: "I think that's Janes kid."
Guard 1: "Who's Jane?"
Guard 2: "Double J, James Janes, he's part of the Special Operations branch."
Guard 1: "Special Operations?"

3. pillow
Nurse: "Hey...everything's okay miss, you're at the hospital, you had quite a fall young lady, is it true you jumped?"
Jane: "Ugh...my head."
Nurse: "Oh here, would you like another pillow?"
*door opens*
Cop: "Hello ma'am."
Nurse: "Hi, are you her father?"
Cop: "Not quite."
*Shows badge*
Cop: "Detective ______, Miss Janes has to come with me, she's under arrest."

4. you_knew
Jane: "Look I'm sorry Dad, I didn't kno..."
JJ: "No, you knew! You knew what would happen if they caught you, that is a big compromise to our safety!"
Jane: "Look don't yell at me alright? I was trying to be a normal kid!"
JJ: "Yeah well your 'normal' behavior could've gotten us in big trouble...Did you manage to get rid of the urine samples and the rest of the tests?"
Jane: "...No..."
JJ: "Damnit. I'll drop you off at home, and then I'm going back to the station."
Jane: "What for?"
JJ: "To protect us."

5. you_could
Sophia: "You can spy on people through the chatter-net?"
Kumal: "Oh, sure it's easy. I do it all the time."
Sophia: "Don't get out much do you?"
Kumal: "...well..."
Sophia: "Relax, I'm just kidding. Besides, I thought everyone had encryption in their chatter PDAs to stop hacking?"
Kumal: "Ha. Encryption. I can hack anybody, anytime, anywhere."
Sophia: "Take a look at my PDA and see if you can hack me, Mr. Big Shot."
Kumal: "Alright, I will, let's take a look here..."

Whoo. Okay that's it I think hehe. That took so long, I'm afraid it'll be totally out of date when I finally post it! Let's hope not! *crosses fingers*

Neither does http://transmit.ilovebees.com/blah/index.html
or http://transmit.ilovebees.com/hello/index.html
or http://transmit.ilovebees.com/banana/index.html

I think the index.html response is just a default response regardless of the directory.

Emergency on planet Earth

Okay, there seems to be a lot of back and forth about the chronological order the two .wav files "Emergency" and "Walkaway_Girl". So I will add my two cents in the hope of clearing things up. This is just my opinion and in no way constitutes fact, so with that said....

My belief is that the Order of the files goes like such:

1. Walkaway_Girl
2. PQI
3. Stupid Cop
4. Yes or No
5. Hey Dad
6. Nervous
7. Law Abiding
8. Emergency

Now my reasons for this are as follows:

The transcript of Walk_Away girl gives clues that we are at a military installation of some kind. We know from hey_dad that she was brought to the police station by the MP, which is military jargon for military police. In law_abiding we find out that she was on a military base to return a pass so Dewayne's dad would not get "spiked for dereliction".

Walkaway_Girl Transcript:
Man 1: Marine slang, not just special forces, special, special forces.
Man 2: I don't care if her dad was the freakin' queen of Neptune, I want her caught.
Man 1: Taught her some moves though didn't he?
Man 2: Well she's screwed now, we got her surrounded. She's headed up to the roof.
Man 1: There's a reason why they call her the walk away girl, man.
Man 2: For God's sake she's treed Frank. I'll just send a couple cadets up to the roof to take her in.
Man 1: I think I can get ah yeah...yeah, yeah, yeah here we go. There, the lovely and talented Ms. James courtesy security cam 45.
Man 2: What the hell's she doing?
Man 1: Looks like she's getting ready to jump off the roof and over the electric fence!
Man 2: Its three stories high!
Man 1: Don't look down sweetheart, that first steps a doozy.
Man 2: Perimeter sentry one six, double time it to gate 4. We have a possible jumper coming of the per...
Man 1: Jesus! She jumped!
Man 2: Bring a medic.

Point 1.
We know her father is some kind of top soldier and we know her friends or at least one of them also has a father that is in the military (..."and then they had to return the gate pass or else Dewayne's Dad was going to get spiked for dereliction.") So it makes sense that Man 1 knows about James James and his daughter Jan James.

Point 2
Man 2 calls for sentry one six to head to gate 4, not exactly a police term. A Sentry is a soldier placed on guard, the Marines and the Navy even have something called the 11 General Orders of a Sentry. Police do not use the term sentry to describe a police officer on guard. In fact, why would you have a guard at a police station?

Point 3
After Jan jumps, Man 2 then orders sentry one six to bring a medic. Again this is a military term for a medical practitioner in the armed forces. We've all played enough Counter Strike to know what a medic is and we also know that the police do not make use of field medic only soldiers do.

Okay that's all I got.

Good spec Brian, I think you have the gist of it. We'll have to wait and see how the pieces fall exactly to go any further with that.

It also looks as though the files have been pieced together quite well, also. One thing that intrigues me, is how these separate stories fit together and relate to ilovebees.

I saw some posts that ventured close to my theory without directly hitting it on the head. So I apologize if this is fishy, I did a pretty thorough search.

Tuna. "What does it mean?", Bungie asked. It is the main connection for these story threads.

It's been noted that apparently tuna is a rare dish in the future, based on Kamal's reaction in "tuna". After listening to the messages a bit I realized how rare it in fact is. The PMs emphasize it quite a bit. On both of Kamal's dates we learn that he chooses very expensive restuarants to dine in. Yet, when he and "JL" ghost Aiden he is in awe of the tuna. He sees it as a sure sign of the eliteness of the Waterfront Hotel.

Why is this important? Because it ties those events to Jersey, through his mother, Bonita & her farmed tuna salad. Now having established tuna as an exceedingly rare foodstuff, the PM's make a point of showing us that Bonita, who is covertly seeing a man on thursdays, eats this rare dish on her "tryst". I think this is enough to assume that Selene Jefferson is an assumed name that she uses when visiting Simon Brown, aka Aiden.

I wonder if they are meeting strictly for pleasure...

From there we have a direct link to Jan's story. It's all nice and neat.

Anyhoo...if this has already been remarked upon, I apologized and have but one request.

Instead of trouting me...give me tuna!!!

P.S.
I'm hitting the 8:43 you_knew axon. Hope I can get it...I've been informed that there are MANY phonebooths in the area though. I can use all the help I can get. That includes the other axon points for you_knew.

Good luck everyone!

P.P.S. By the by, I also thought I'd drop a bit of META here: All UNSC personel receive a "neural interface" chip. Think neuromancer. It wouldn't be too hard to envision a consumer version that was so widespread that nearly everyone has it. This could be how Kamal does his "ghosting". (again...tuna me if this is seafood)

(edit: grammar)

Woo! I'm glad someone else caught that. I was doing a happy dance when I realized the possible connection.

When the forums comes back up, we might want to give this a topic of its own, as it implies some odd continuity issues . . .
