a new twitter message from the pharmament people, with a link to an apparently different site, requiring a login password.

EDIT: i have found the password for the pharmament site. lots of stuff spinning off from this. not sure how much info i should post, (greenhorn, and all that) so i will leave it as nothing for now, and wait to see if anyone else joins in with this.

ok, i put this behind a spoiler in case people wanted to figure it out themselves.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
at the website pharmament.info, rather than pharmament.com, use the password worldofwarcraft to get a log of people who have accessed the site recently, including a link to haxhoax

i've written to contact the site owner and am awaiting a reply

Anybody noticed Ph - "armament"? Might be obvious, but thought I should mention it. Smile

By the way, can anyone decipher what those red dots say on the hacked website that @chippy pulled out?

EDIT:

Am I making this up, or does the third picture of the three blurry pictures on the website really have Bart Simpson on it? Cool

Mycroft7's impressive find now appears 100% IG.

When opened the log gives directions to a revealing read on the "HaxHoax" Site and we can follow its author on Twitter

@prut: Welcome and the "red dots" are a Braille msg which AUZ505 and a couple of others decoded on the previous page.
That same msg is repeated on the bottom left hand corner of the new "HaxHoax" Site.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

@prut - yea i noticed the 'armament' thing too, suggests maybe our company isn't as concerned with everyone's happiness as their product suggests? the comment about fixing all but one of the bugs "permanently" may also explain what happened to dan.

i have had a reply from dave o'kean

Quote:
Thank you for your support and your kind words.
Dan used to hack a lot of sites, but he always said that he did so for a reason.
He preferred to look at what he did as something good. So, if he hacked that pharma company then I can only assume he had a reason to do so.
Currently I'm going through Dan's personal stuff to see if I can find any clues or access codes. I will keep you informed and will update the site soon (I found one of his early html books and I'm starting to get the hang of it).

so i guess we hang fire until the clues start appearing. the morse code will be the e-mail account that we are trying to access, i guess. i sent post there too anyway just in case.

Dave also replied to me which does prove he'll respond even when sent flimsy info. Smile And he follows back on Twitter.

I'm not too handy with computers and websites (although, I slowly start to get the hang of it).
I knew Dan had a hotmail.co.uk account, but I never assumed he would use haxhoax as his login.
Thanks so much for that info! I'm currently going through his stuff in hopes of finding any clues regarding access to his email as well as access to his blog.

Thank you again for your support, I will keep you informed through e-mail, twitter and the site. I will also start digging about that pharma company. (It's the second time somebody points out that he hacked it, I need to know his motivation).

So, since I'm a noob.. and haven't seen any hint at all yet that would allow me to figure out this puzzle.. how did you end up finding that password ?
Thanks

olorin,

i assumed that the password would be a word or phrase that we had already been provided with somewhere within the limited information on pharmament. the latest update suggested that the site was ready for us to crack, so i figured we must already have been given whatever was needed. also, most people choose passwords based on something personal to them - a pet, hobby, favourite song etc.

looking at the twitter page there were a few followers who weren't obviously from the unfiction 'gang' as well as an update that stood out as being a deliberate poke towards the pharmament IT specialist's hobbies. as this was the only thing i knew about him, i tried a few combinations and there it was.

Sweet thanks - I noticed those followers on twitters that you're referring to, but I didn't know if they were there when you cracked the login or if they started following afterward Smile

Did anyone notice that all the photos on all the sites are actually half of a photo flipped onto the other side, so it is actually a symetrical image.

i thought there was something odd about the faces on the pharmamnet site - hadn't clicked that that was what i was seeing! faces just aren't meant to be that symetrical Smile

i'm away to sleep, and hopefully there'll be something new from dave when i wake up.

A couple of updates from Dave on Twitter today, hinting at new puzzle coming later today.

With this email Dave just reconfirmed he's into the "haxhoax" hotmail. Reckon the "FROM" is interesting.

Hi. It's Dave.
I have gained access to Dan's email.
No trails here, all older e-mails were deleted.
As far as I know Dan did not work with or for any group.
