I decided to try another approach and pretended to be a distant cousin of Michael Carter and told Charlie that I've been trying to track him down. I was thinking maybe we could use him to convince Charlie to stay, but... Well, here is what I got:
Quote:
Hi Prut,

Michael is doing great. We head out tomorrow on tour together. I would give you his information but it would be useless. We don't have cell phones and our mail gets forwarded to the recruiting office till we get back (and that won't be for another two years). If you want let me get your contact information and I'll pass it down to him once we get settled down.

He'll be happy to hear from you. He's been kinda bummed lately.

So Michael is with Charlie. And if they won't have cell phones, then it might be unreasonable to expect calls from them. How are we going to keep in contact? By email I suppose?

Well I apparently missed some things while I was sleeping. I got the email about charlie and the don't let him leave thing all at once.

Then I got the myspace thing so I gave him my contact info. I also decided to ask him if he wanted a physical address, so I could leave open to the PMs whether they want him to be able to send stuff out. We'll see how "he" replies. I told him I wanted souviners, heh.

Also got the myspace end of this. It's funny. I'm sure I'm still playing, but I haven't had any contact with the ATW group. Charlie has my number now, and I asked him to tell Sgt Yeager (my wife's buddy. Who's a SpecOps interpreter. In Africa. right now.) to get rid of that inflatable sheep.

The funniest thing I can possibly say is that I haven't had to lie or even bend the truth once. Everything I've told him is verifiable pretty easily, and totally true.

Another cipher I don't have a clue how to decipher.

I see 14 sets of 6 letters each. I see no identifiable pattern. These are not individual words, I think, as there's no variation in size. It's not an anagram. Christ, I hate being inexperienced. I know I've seen this kind of encryption before, I just can't remember where, or what it's called.

Your friend has an inflatable sheep?

I'm thinking this is a transposition. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transposition_(cryptography)

But there's not enough vowels to make real words...

Changed my mind. It's a substitution. I think since it's in 14 blocks maybe you rotate 14 letters.

edit: nope it's not on a 14 rotater. I still think it's sub though.

It is not a simple rot of any variety from 1 to 25

Correct. It's not a Caesar cipher.

I hate to think they piled two different encryptions on one another. Like a Caesar and an anagram? But I'm just not seeing something here.

I'm here, I've checked, but I haven't dug deep into it. if it's caesar, it'll be much harder to solve with no clue (the last one had "2012ishere" as an obvious plaintext to start). If it's anything else, who knows, if we need to find a key. If there's no key, then it's likely an encryption known for using 6-letter blocks, unless that's just to throw us off.
Keep hunting. I'll need to sit down with it later at best

The only possible clue I can see is the name of the entry (which has no title) used in the url - "6", but I don't know if that's just a given ID by the blog, or a chosen slug for the blog entry.

This is insane with no clue. The only thing I can come close to figuring out is that j might equal e.

There is something interesting in there though: JJXX. Assuming a substitution cipher, there are few words that repeat letters like that. Spaces are not included though, so that could be something like bacK KEEp. It's something to look for anyway. J, I think is a vowel, either e or a. It is too frequent.
