Interesting that we've received no pieces from column 5...

I'll stick to the obvious: all shapes we can make out for now are in black-n-white.
Perhaps that's an important aspect.

Ooookay. In a way, the shape on the right is a synthesis of the circle on the left and the black-and-white pattern in the middle.

I sent Eve a question about the distribution. Here's her reply:

Hi Bruce,
I have randomly divided the pieces as I saw fit.
There's no solution in the order in which they are sent out (after all, what if somebody does not send its piece? - In which case I will send that piece to somebody else).

I just want to double check, because I am noticing some discrepancies begining to appear the more we alter the compiled image...

1-4 and 3-4 both have a "black smudge" vertically along the bottom-right and upper-right corners respectively. This was seen on the origional uploaded files, and in the file Bruce uploaded labled "So Far 032509.png"

We then got 2-4, which shows the second half of the smudge in the top, and bottom right corners, and, if you look closely the begining of a white-circle on the far right.

Snorkles edit of the compilation "sofar.png" actually helped me realize that the smudges were there, but I noticed because the edges of 1-4 and 3-4 extend beyond where they had originally making it seem like they had 2 lines and a blank white section in 2-4...

I'm not entirely sure how that happened but I am convinced after looking at the original pieces that the extra-bits extending into row 5 are not supposed to be there.

So we have: A target with 9 black rings, 4 white rings... 4 black tiles and 3 white tiles... and (so far) what appears to be 3 black dots, and 4 white dots... with a very strange black smudgy-thing above and below the unfinished white piece which 2-5 will reveal.

The smudges are just where the column 4 images didn't line up exactly. I was putting them in without a grid, so they were off a little. Once we got the missing pieces, I moved them in to the correct position. WHen any of the column 5 pieces arrive, the smudges should disappear. Embarassed

[wiki page updated] ~ this is just a post so that next time I know where to start updating from.

Assuming the image is 6x3, we're getting closer Smile

The third piece might actually be a full 9 dots. I can't quite tell. Maybe it's a combination? 8 7 9?

yeah, 'cause this is going to keep me awake all night now..
...so I was trying to use http://tineye.com/ to see if the composite we have so far or each tile would lead to anything...

And it seems to spit an error every time I try tile 26. Whether I give it the url of the image on the TSO wiki, or if I give it the image from my machine via the 'browse' functionality...
I always get:

Could not read the image. Maybe it's corrupt?

so, anyone with more .png knowledge feels like double checking that tile to make sure it's not hiding something ?

Hello Rika Leigh,
Here is a gift.
I hope you like puzzles.
Others have the pieces you are missing, as you now have a piece they are missing.
