MrHankey I belive that those people was pointed out in some of the previous posts, and like everyone said few times already, please read the whole tread before posting something.

If you read what he says, I think he was actually pointing out the "Character audio missing" bit, and not the circled people (I think he just took an image from earlier in the thread which did point them out, and then used that image to highlight the text).

This really has got me intrigued. I still cannot believe that this was done on such a small budget... But hey, what do I know?!?

It's the "2 of 3" rule: Good, Cheap and Fast... Pick two. Can't have three.

I'm guessing they chose "good" and "cheap", which leads me to wonder how long it took to do the visual effects. Yeah, ILM could do them in a day with a bank of computers that fill an arena, but a couple of guys working out of their garage and a lone computer would take years to do the same.

The reason they could afford the full page advertorials is that the magazine they were in (well, on, to be more exact) is created by a student's association from Nijmegen University. Typically a run will contain somewhere between 200 and 1000 copies and the magazine can be obtained for free from the faculty building. Main source of income is ads from companies that want to recruit students who read the magazine. I can imagine if Tim Smit knew the right person he could get some free space though.

Also, he talked about how much time making the special effects took him. The taping only took three days, but the editing took ages (he didn't specify any timeframe however). He did say that for example when creating an explosion, he'd have his computer do simulations and calculations for three days, then have a look at the outcome, and if he didn't like it he'd have to wait another three days to give it another try. Taking into account the URL for his website was registered somewhere in 2006, the whole project probably took well over a year, maybe even two.

Je hebt gelijk Wink

Guys.. Something you should know:
Tim Smit is one of the students responsible for making the Leonardo Bode happen. He is one of the editors and something else he's responsible for is: Graphic Design.
So he actually designed the graphics for the magazine and because he's an editor he placed them on the backside of the magazine. For free Wink

Hey all, sorta wondered here just to talk about this. I've burned the "anti" image which is posted a few pages back. One difference is that I got it out of the cites CSS script so that it has a white background.

NOTE the 71 -73.5% was red and 87% was red. Also
"A T T A I N A B L E N E S S" was hidden.

I think you guys got that already, but thought I'd bring it up. Also something else to keep the thinking going if you didn't get it already.

This meta tag stood out to me [name="author" content="Mystery of Mysteries"] The author of a book titled "Mystery of Mysteries" is Michael Ruse. I hope that gets some of them cogs spinning.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
With the recent Sokal hoax--the publication of a prominent physicist's pseudo-article in a leading journal of cultural studies--the status of science moved sharply from debate to dispute. Is science objective, a disinterested reflection of reality, as Karl Popper and his followers believed? Or is it subjective, a social construction, as Thomas Kuhn and his students maintained? Into the fray comes Mystery of Mysteries, an enlightening inquiry into the nature of science, using evolutionary theory as a case study.

Michael Ruse begins with such colorful luminaries as Erasmus Darwin (grandfather of Charles) and Julian Huxley (brother of novelist Aldous and grandson of T. H. Huxley, "Darwin's bulldog" ) and ends with the work of the English game theorist Geoffrey Parker--a microevolutionist who made his mark studying the mating strategies of dung flies--and the American paleontologist Jack Sepkoski, whose computer-generated models reconstruct mass extinctions and other macro events in life's history. Along the way Ruse considers two great popularizers of evolution, Richard Dawkins and Stephen Jay Gould, as well as two leaders in the field of evolutionary studies, Richard Lewontin and Edward O. Wilson, paying close attention to these figures' cultural commitments: Gould's transplanted Germanic idealism, Dawkins's male-dominated Oxbridge circle, Lewontin's Jewish background, and Wilson's southern childhood. Ruse explicates the role of metaphor and metavalues in evolutionary thought and draws significant conclusions about the cultural impregnation of science. Identifying strengths and weaknesses on both sides of the "science wars," he demonstrates that a resolution of the objective and subjective debate is nonetheless possible.

Hehe, that's probably going a bit to far of a stretch.

He responded saying stay tuned which I posted earlier in this thread. So how soon are we talking about? I mean as you guys just said if it took him 3 years to do this 5 minute video I don't understand how he plans on releasing a 60 minute video or longer now all of sudden. Unless he just needs to finish editing some stuff and already made whole video within that timespan.

The IPs are different. One using verizon, the other Comcast. So who knows. Just don't feed the trolls.

Kurz nach dem ersten angriff des Heli sieht man kurz das schild "Bakkerij Bereket‎", das wäre dann diese location:

google map link

Das würde sich etwa mit dem Film decken, passt aber nicht zum industriegebiet.

Stretchy link minimized.~drizjr
