Another Round With Clarky-poo

Kazic: Hello again.
cmanone95: So you waited up for me.
Kazic: Don't flatter yourself.
Kazic: I was watching a movie.
cmanone95: Oh ok.
Kazic: So?
Kazic: Are we going to talk straight, or does the dance continue?
cmanone95: Turn the music up.
Kazic: Ah, of course. What would you like to hear?
cmanone95: So why have you called this meeting?
Kazic: I called the meeting?
cmanone95: IMed me.
Kazic: Wow, I didn't know I could do that.
Kazic: I wanted to know about what you said yesterday.
cmanone95: I said many things.
Kazic: You said you had a test to prove my loyalty.
cmanone95: Oh yes. The details are still being worked out but it involves the island.
Kazic: Involves it how?
cmanone95: You lets Charlie escape. You let things get too far. It is now your responsibility to press the button.
Kazic: I didn't let him escape.
cmanone95: Yes you did. I told you to convince him to stay. And you failed.
Kazic: You know, you might want to take a bit of responsibility for what's happened.
Kazic: Furthermore, it's very hard to complete an objective when you don't know the whole story.
Kazic: There was no way for me to keep him here.
Kazic: He thought he was doing what was right. He's obviously a very convicted individual.
cmanone95: *my name* You could shot the man. Killed him.
cmanone95: You knew where he was.
cmanone95: You failed every time.
Kazic: Hey, hey. First: it's Kaz. El Kaz, if you like spanish.
Kazic: Second, I had no idea where he was.
Kazic: I can't kill someone when I don't know where they are.
Kazic: And you never told me to kill him.
cmanone95: A little investigating would have gotten you that information.
cmanone95: I told you to stop him.
Kazic: No amount of investigating would have gotten me that information.
Kazic: You knew where he was I bet.
Kazic: Why didn't you just tell me?
Kazic: You don't seem to want me, or anyone for that matter to suceed.
cmanone95: Of course I do
Kazic: Then you should give all the pertinent info.;
cmanone95: I didn't want him dead, true but I also didn't know if I could trust you.
Kazic: Well, then, it's on you.
Kazic: Because if you don't make up your mind, I can't help you.
cmanone95: How can I make you trust me?
Kazic: Tell me everything, obviously. No half truths. Unless you're afraid that if I know the truth I won't think you're the good guy anymore?
cmanone95: Yes. I am afraid of that.
Kazic: Of course you are.
cmanone95: I know you don't think I am the good guy anymore.
Kazic: I think you lie a lot, and then you seem to get upset when Ii *gasp* don't swallow the lie.
cmanone95: We, CDC, the UN did not create this "super strand" of AIDS. We don't know where it came from. We can only speculate it is 2012 is now.
Kazic: Did you have a cure?
cmanone95: No. I swear if we had a cure I would have made sure it became mass produced.
cmanone95: You think we wanted to do this?
Kazic: 2012 seems quite convinced that there was one at some point. They might be terrorists, but somehow they don't strike me as liars.
cmanone95: There was no other choice. Things got out of hand.
Kazic: Why?
cmanone95: So many people died during the time we were trying to find a cure.
cmanone95: We had no choice. We were tasked with destroying the virus. The victims had become the virus. We had to destroy them.
Kazic: There's always a choice.
cmanone95: Do you understand that in one hundred years every person on earth would have the virus?
cmanone95: We could not allow that to happen.
Kazic: Do you understand that you sped that process up?
cmanone95: We didn't. 2012 is now did.
Kazic: Had you have not done what you did, there would have been more time for a cure t obe found.
Kazic: The thing is, you don't really know that they did it, do you? You just suspect.
cmanone95: More time? We didn't need more time. There was no cure to ever be found. We had to take action.
cmanone95: Well from what you found on Stewart's website. It seems to me to be a confirmed confession.
Kazic: Suppose I killed Charlie tommorrow, and nothing changed?
cmanone95: Would you even know where to find him?
Kazic: Nope. It was a hypothetical.
cmanone95: We think he is behind all of this. So yes. It might work.
Kazic: You're letting a lot ride on the assupmtion that it's them.
Kazic: That's all I'm saying.
cmanone95: I understand. But having gone through all the evidence four times in the past. I feel my assumption is correct.
Kazic: And I still say you should be focusing on stopping yourself. Then you would at the very least have had more time to figure out a method of eradicating the virus that doesn't bring 2012 into existence.
cmanone95: I do not exist in your timeline. I can only exist in place at a time.
Kazic: Right.
Kazic: Who was the director of the camp in Atlanta?
Kazic: Anyone important?
cmanone95: No. He's probably dead by now.
Kazic: Didn't you tell me you communicate with that past through crystals?
cmanone95: Yes,
Kazic: How exactly does that work?
cmanone95: I don't know the exact technology behind it. I did not create it. I only know how to use it. How is this relevant?
Kazic: Because I'm wondering how mike acquired the ability to talk to people in my timeline in the first place.
cmanone95: I put a crystal in the Director's Office. No one would ever suspect what it was. I used Mike to recruit you. He thought he was talking to people in his own time.
Kazic: Ah.
Kazic: And 2012? how do they have a blog in the past?
cmanone95: My only thought on that is that they have a crystal as well. I wouldn't be able to understand any other means they would to communicate with the past.
Kazic: are they easy to acquire?
cmanone95: No.
Kazic: Hm.
cmanone95: The government and certain Universities are the only ones who study them and make improvements on them.
Kazic: Lancaster University?
cmanone95: I'm not sure. Again it is not my department.
Kazic: Mmhm.
Kazic: So do you want to talk about the nuke?
cmanone95: I guess we have to.
cmanone95: What do you want to know?
Kazic: Atomization makes me nervous.
cmanone95: Oh it's not an atom bomb.
Kazic: Have you detonated it yet in your time?
Kazic: Right, Ii know, they don't use those anymore.
Kazic: Not since the Anola Gay dropped her payload.
cmanone95: Not in my time, but you have.
Kazic: What do you mean?
cmanone95: This is what I was talking about.
cmanone95: This is your task. You have been brave enough to do it every time i've asked you to complete the task. You have to do it this time.
cmanone95: They escaped every other time. But now I know when they are leaving. It hasn't happened yet according to Stewart's blog.
Kazic: ah ha, leaving the island you mean.
cmanone95: Yes. They haven't left yet.
Kazic: Ok. so what about their relocation to australia? Was that public knowledge?
cmanone95: No. Of course not.
Kazic: It had to be.
cmanone95: Why?
Kazic: You can't move al lthe australians and make an entire soverign nation disappear, without attracting attention.
cmanone95: They were told to not say anything. In exchange we gave them a house in their country of choice and a years pay of a senator's salary.
Kazic: Someone would have squealed.
Kazic: You could get more than that from a paper for that kind of story.
cmanone95: The papers would have thought they were crazy. A mass evacuation of a whole continent?
Kazic: Mmm.
Kazic: So, you found someting else on the website, but yo won't tell me what it is right? Even though it might ensure I get it right this time?
cmanone95: You already discovered it.
Kazic: Did I?
Kazic: What was it?
cmanone95: In the source.
Kazic: And how do you know that I know about that?
cmanone95: I am always watching.
cmanone95: Also, your friends like to talk.
Kazic: But there are some places even you can;t see.
cmanone95: I saw it in places I am allowed to see.
Kazic: Hmmm.
Kazic: Tis so hard t ofind good help these days.
cmanone95: Tell me about it.
Kazic: Don't suppose you'd tell me which of my friends likes to talk?
cmanone95: No.
Kazic: Didn't think so.
Kazic: Can't blame a gal for trying though.
cmanone95: If there is nothing else. I must make my way to the infirmary, I am not feeling too well. I've been so dizzy all day.
Kazic: Eh there are a few other things.
Kazic: If you can sit upright for a bit more.
cmanone95: Best to leave it for tomorrow.
Kazic: All of it?
cmanone95: Good night.
Kazic: You're no fun.
Kazic: One more?

...

Was going to ask him about the power outages in atl.

luckyspades, thanks for the follow up - teamwork in action!
im in the uk so it was midnight when i was attempting that puzzle - really hard to do when tired.

i think i know what the new cipher is, but i am teaching at the moment. ill try and do it over the next two hours or so.

EDIT: ive got it, the first word is "oluchi". bear with me...

EDIT:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

it was ASCII:

Oluchi had a plan. Charlie didn't agree with it. I could tell that Charlie knew her from before. Knew the way she would think. She had organized a group of the greatest minds. Scientists, doctors, computer engineers. They were planning something. Charlie knew about it but no matter how much I annoyed him, he never told me anything. He said I shouldn't listen to what they had to say. That they were crazy and dangerous. I tried to stay away. But I couldn't.

Clark e-mail and task

Quote:
I have a task for you. Kazic does not seem to trust me. We need to press the button. We only have a very small window of time.. I need you to go to any ATM in your University and press these numbers in sequence 2893413. This will detonate the bomb on the island. You have to do this for me. For your future. Remember we are always watching.

-CR

I am still in the camp of 2012 is now is possibly misunderstood and working for good, but I trust that Rogen actually wants this to work. The question is if he knows what is actually best.

I think I might do it.

Argh. No one trusts him, not just me lolz. I think you should do it. That's a game changer right there. Plus I want you to do it and not say anything to him. I want to see how they'll know you pushed it Shocked

edit: due to the below game changers, maybe you shouldn't ARGH! They planned to make this hard! If you push it you kill stewart, and very possibly the cure! We suspected for a while that the cure is on the island. That's what they meant when they said we killed it I bet. We can't nuke the island.

Kazic (19:54): oooh ooh
luckyspades (19:54): i think
SW (19:54): Finally,
Kazic (19:54): wtf
SW (19:54): It was so hard to get here.
Kazic (19:55): Where the hell is my damned Kaz signal?!
luckyspades (19:55): are you stewart?
SW (19:55): Yes.
Kazic (19:55): Lord Jesus.
luckyspades (19:55): how is everything?
SW (19:55): Listen. There IS a reason I tried to contact you guys,
luckyspades (19:56): good, i was looking for you
luckyspades (19:56): and charlie
SW (19:56): You have asked multiple times that if there is nothing to do about the future than why contact you?
Kazic (19:56): Yeah I realized you were on today, but I was in class.
SW (19:56): You can change this.
Kazic (19:56): Yes I have asked that.
Kazic (19:56): How?
luckyspades (19:56): yes how
SW (19:57): You need to find the cure. When you do. Do not mention to the one who watches us.
Kazic (19:57): How?
Kazic (19:57): Where is it?
Kazic (19:5Cool: The one who watches swears up and down there is no cure.
luckyspades (19:5Cool: yeah. and no worries about clark, he's far from my trust
SW (19:5Cool: If my calculations are correct. I would have had my mortal self send you a package. You will receive it in about two days time Kazic.
Kazic (19:59): Mortal?
Kazic (19:59): What does that make you?
luckyspades (19:59): hmm
SW (19:59): I will try to come back once you have confirmed that you received it. I am beyond physical interaction at this point.
Kazic (20:00): Should I email you when I get it?
SW (20:00): I cannot materialize much longer.
SW (20:00): Yes.
luckyspades (20:00): materialize?
luckyspades (20:00): what are you?
Kazic (20:00): Can I ask one more question?
SW (20:00): I am --
Kazic (20:00): bloody hell
luckyspades (20:00): sorry homie
luckyspades (20:01): didn't mean to kill you question
Kazic (20:01): lol
Kazic (20:01): np
luckyspades (20:01): but wtf though
luckyspades (20:01): post that stuff
Kazic (20:01): I want to know if they really made the virus

...

So I should be getting mail. Good thing I have a very nice camera that easily will load pictures onto my computer. I have a feeling I will need it. i really do need a Kaz signal. This is just getting redonkulous.

So, if there was any question before, they want us to choose sides guys. Time to make a decision it seems. Shame, cause I'm a champion fence sitter Cool

If anyone chooses the disciples, I will shoot you in the face. Not really though, just virtually. The shame however, will be real. Wink

Edit: A few things. Stewart said some weird stuff. What is he an immortal energy being? That makes no sense. I am beginning to wonder if nothing is what we thought it was. What if this is about more than finding a cure or super aids?

Another thing: no one say ANYTHING to clark about stewart directly contacting us. No, not even if you are on clark's side. I would recommend that we figure out exactly what is going on before we tell anyone too much.
So he's not sending me the cure but a clue to the cure? Huh?

Stewart Convo

Kazic: Stewart?
twentytwelveisnow: Hello.
Kazic: How are you?
twentytwelveisnow: I am doing ok. I guess.
Kazic: That was you in the pad today right?
twentytwelveisnow: Yes.
twentytwelveisnow: I think.
twentytwelveisnow: I'm so confused about everything.
Kazic: Why?
twentytwelveisnow: I don't know where I am. I don't know who I am.
Kazic: Why not?
Kazic: What's wrong?
twentytwelveisnow: It's hard to explain.
twentytwelveisnow: I don't feel myself.
twentytwelveisnow: I feel like I keep fading out.
Kazic: Fading out to where?
twentytwelveisnow: Fading in and out.
Kazic: To a different time or place?
twentytwelveisnow: No.
twentytwelveisnow: Fading in and out of existence.
Kazic: Um..that's different,
twentytwelveisnow: Yeah.
Kazic: So can you tell me now what is going on?
Kazic: What's really going on.
twentytwelveisnow: What do you mean?
Kazic: Last time you told me you were trying to spread the virus, when yo got caught in Lancaster Uni. Why would you do that?
twentytwelveisnow: I was stationed in Lancaster University because it was a cryogenics lab. We trying to freeze the virus.
Kazic: To what end?
Kazic: For what purpose?
twentytwelveisnow: To preserve it. If we all died, it would be preserved.
Kazic: Why would you want it to be preserved?
twentytwelveisnow: To finish what we started.
Kazic: Which is what?
twentytwelveisnow: Revenge.
Kazic: On who?
twentytwelveisnow: Everyone. You.
Kazic: Why?
twentytwelveisnow: You put us on the island. You wanted to kill us.
Kazic: Not me personally. I don't kill people.
Kazic: So what, because everyone was put on the island you what? Decided to kill everyone?
twentytwelveisnow: Not just me.
Kazic: Who else?
twentytwelveisnow: Oluchi, others.
Kazic: For revenge.
twentytwelveisnow: I regret what I did.
twentytwelveisnow: I'm so sorry.
twentytwelveisnow: I'm so scared.
Kazic: You'd destroy the world? Destroy people who had nothing to do with what happened to you for revenge? I think you should be sorry,
Kazic: If you didn't know, I'll tell you that the majority if the world had no idea what was done to you.
Kazic: I think if they'd had know they would have tried to stop it.
twentytwelveisnow: I'm so sorry. Please. I know.
Kazic: It's alright. You made a mistake.
Kazic: But this mistake needs to be undone stewart.
Kazic: It's th ekind that is never recovered from.
twentytwelveisnow: I know.
Kazic: How did you spread it?
Kazic: I promise not to tell, the one who watches.
twentytwelveisnow: Shhh. They are watching. They don't want you to find the cure.
Kazic: Why not?
Kazic: Aren't they dying too?
twentytwelveisnow: They don't care anymore.
Kazic: Why not?
twentytwelveisnow: Because they want their revenge.
Kazic: Revenge for what?
Kazic: For what you did??
twentytwelveisnow: No for putting us on the island and trying to exterminate us like rats.
Kazic: I don't understand.
Kazic: Who doesn't want me to find the cure? Oluchi?
twentytwelveisnow: Shhhh.
twentytwelveisnow: Yes.
twentytwelveisnow: Well.
twentytwelveisnow: Not really her.
Kazic: So you're rebelling against those who you were helping.
twentytwelveisnow: 2012 is now
twentytwelveisnow: I did somethings that were very wrong. I regret all that now. I killed people.
Kazic: Who else makes that group up?
twentytwelveisnow: Well, last I heard most of them had died off already. There is just a handful left. Tommy and Kurt are in New York. Jahid and Sheila were in London. Paul was stationed in China.
Kazic: And the leader?
Kazic: Where is she?
twentytwelveisnow: She?
Kazic: Hmmm who's the leader?
twentytwelveisnow: We don't have a leader.
Kazic: No?
twentytwelveisnow: No. We had our task. We just had to complete it.
Kazic: goddesses aren't leaders?
twentytwelveisnow: Oluchi?
Kazic: Yes.
twentytwelveisnow: A spiritual leader. But, she's probably part of the island now.
Kazic: What d oyou mean, part of it?

...

So, Oluchi's dead and they really did spread the virus. Dunno how. Now I wonder who he meant when he said the one who watches. Maybe he wasn't talking about Rogen? I think that maybe Clark isn't bad, he just doesn't know about the cure. All this time we've though Stewart was trying to escape Rogen. He's not. He's trying to avoid the notice of 2012isnow.

Stewart chat and new cipher

Quote:
twentytwelveisnow is Available
Me:Stewart?
twentytwelveisnow :Hi.
Yes?
Me:
I'm worried about you
twentytwelveisnow :
Don't be. I'm ok. I think.
Me:
you think?
twentytwelveisnow :
I don't know any more. I haven't felt myself for a while now.
I keep fading out.
Me:
are you alive?
twentytwelveisnow :
What do you mean?
Me:
well, I've never heard of a living person "fading out"
twentytwelveisnow :
I don't even know anymore. I don't know who I am. I don't know where I am.
Me:
do you think I can help you somehow?
twentytwelveisnow :
You have to find the cure. I didn't want to do this. You can change this.
Save them all.
Me:
what didn't you want to do?
twentytwelveisnow :
I guess I did want to do it. But I regret it now.
Spread the virus.
Me:
it's okay, we'll make it right
but I have no idea where to look for the cure
twentytwelveisnow :
I'm so scared.
You know where to look.
Me:
I have some ideas
I guess the real problem is
I don't know what a cure would look like
how can I test a cure without having the virus?
twentytwelveisnow :
Shhh. They might be watching. They don't want you to find it.
Me:
why wouldn't they?
who would want people to die?
twentytwelveisnow :
2012 is now
Me:
which people?
see Stewart, I really want to know
I'm like you, Charlie reminds me of my big brother
twentytwelveisnow :
What do you mean which people?
Me:
2012 is now is an organization
twentytwelveisnow :
Some what. Yes.
Me:
how would you describe it?
twentytwelveisnow :
I thought it was a place I could call home. People I could relate to, but now I'm not so sure. I did somethings that were very wrong.
Me:
that has to hurt
first you felt like your parents betrayed you
and then the people you thought would be your new family made you go against what you thought was right
Stewart, you're a smart kid
you were right to turn away from any one that makes you hurt someone else
people like you and me are trying to help people
you know, lately I've been confused about who I can turn to
I don't know who is a friend, who is watching, who I can tell what
who would turn on me, and who even wants the same things as me
but you Stewart, I believe you're penitent
sorry, but scared
twentytwelveisnow is Offline

Sigh, and then he was gone before I could drill him (kindly and compassionately)

There's another number in the source code. It's #8211. Dunno if that's significant.

Stewart is sending Kazic a package, but he's sending it from his past mortal self. This means he was able to influence his past self. Clark has claimed this is impossible. The Stewart that claims this is also talking about materializing and his mortal self. This implies that he has moved on to a different sort of existence, this may enable his interaction with his past self.

Kaz and I were bouncing ideas, and it seems that we may be dealing with different Stewarts. Note how different he is on the pad and in yahoo chat. YIM Stewart is a scared little kid who is confused. Pad Stewart knows what's what.

As for detonating Australia, I'm open to input, but I need it sooner rather than later.
ETA
The Stewart in the pad seems like the sort of person who could be creating the blog ciphers. We've wondered about it being a kid before. The Stewart in YIM seems like the Stewart the decoded messages are about.
Also, the decoded messages sound to me like they're talking about the past from a distance which supports the idea of pad Stewart being further in the future.

okay i solved the cipher.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"mama, just killed a man" is a line from bohemian rhapsody by queen.

vigenere with the key of "bohemianrhapsody":

We arrived at 2 am. Charlie managed to knockout a guard and steal his clothes. I was going to play along as a prisoner he was bringing in. A guard spit on me as we walked through the dark, quiet halls. Like if I was a stain on the cloth of humanity. Once we were in the main section of the prison we made our way into the control room. Charlie activated the indoor sprinklers and shot a couple of rounds of smoke grenades into the cell blocks to shield the guards vision. I saw a computer in the back wall. I grabbed it and threw it on the floor with a loud bang. Charlie looked at me and angrily asked what I was doing. I didn't respond. I kept beating the computer tower until the casing broke. The alarm went off in the building and a computerized female voice said, "Lockdown Commence" through the speakers. I ripped out the motherboard. Charlie grabbed me by the shirt and threw me across the room. He yelled at me for breaking the computer. Now he couldn't let out the prisoners. I realized it was the only computer in the room. I had broken it, but Charlie didn't have to throw me against the wall like that. What was his problem?

It was time to go. Charlie threw me a gun. I had never felt the cold steel of a gun in my hands before. "You know how to use that thing kid?" I remember Charlie asking me. I nodded. I was lying of course. Charlie started making his way downstairs. I grabbed the motherboard and started to follow him when suddenly a huge mass appeared through the door. It was the guard that had spit on me when we first walked in. I instinctively aimed my gun at his face. He smirked at me, "Ha, like if you'd really have the balls to shoot me. You little, sick piece of shit. Give me tha–" He fell to the floor, my gun followed his head. Charlie was standing behind his body. Charlie had knocked him out. My hands were shaking. I could have shot him. I had my chance. Charlie started walking towards me. BANG. The guards head jolted back. Blood trickled from between his eyes. The smoke still lingered from the gun's barrel. I was frozen in place. Charlie put my hands down and took the gun from me. I kept staring at the growing pool of blood coming from the guards head. The next thing I remember, we were back at the camp. Oluchi was thanking me for doing such an excellent job in acquiring a motherboard. I didn't sleep that night thinking that I had killed a man.

Thanks neil but now there's another one under the same name. Gonna try to solve it with your key. I got this email from 2012:

Mama, I just killed a man. It's been updated. I apologize for any confusion. I haven't been myself lately. You should take another look.

So here's the new one:

Mama, I just killed a man.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I needed some place I could feel safe. People I could trust. At the time. Oluchi and her friends seemed to understand me. They needed help, so I helped. Charlie was planning to go back to the prison to save those who were left behind. I convinced Charlie to bring me along. It was my chance. Oluchi needed a working motherboard.

So they must have made a mistake in putting it up because all that's different is the first paragraph. Either that, or they did want to show Stewart slipping. Anyway, the cipher shows Stew first falling in with 2012. We know from last night that he now regrets everything that was done.

Another thing about Stewart

Bu said he can influence his past self. I don't think that's true. The weird thing is that he *has* a past self! According to Clark, you can only exist in one place at a time. That's some seriously flawed time mechanics, but we'll go with it for the sake of the game. Anyway, Pad stewart seemed to be implying that there's a mortal him in the time stream (yim stew) but that he is somewhere else. That would explain how there are two of him. If he's not mortal, or somehow outside the laws of time, then there could be two of them. Of course the question becomes OMGWTFBBQ!11 quite rapidly. So I'm thinking once I get my package he'll appear again in the pad. I'm really anxious for that, because it's quite obvious that Stewart knows more than the one we've been talking to. YIM Stewart didn't seem that concerned with a cure, but pad stewart did. Makes me wonder if I've been emailing both of them, and which response I get depends on which one is there. Shocked I haz confoosion.
