Now that this has been moved to the CF with Potential forum, we can spread out and make new threads for different puzzles, characters, websites, etc. Just make sure to tag them with [CHARLOTTE] so that we know what's what. Smile

postcards

I got a postcard today and it written with the same hand with the same text as the one posted. The card that I have under UV light back side I see nothing, but on the picture side is a bar code made with fluorescent ink,

| | | | | | || | | ||||||| || | || || ||| ||| ||||||

I looked up German postal and this in not a postal code.

I thought this was a postal bar code...

(higher res pics here)

There's something like it described here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CPC_Binary_Barcode

But holy cow, that's a lot of decoding!

A little digging shows that the USPS uses the spray on fluorescent code when they can't automatically decode the address. I'm wondering if the hand-addressed cards threw their readers for a loop.

Thinking this is probably a non-issue. But I could be wrong!

Hi everybody!

I'm from the German ARG also. I just wanted to say, that the barcode on the postcard is not important. It's, like addlepated said, just from the German Post for their identification. So don't spent any other time on that.

Welcome to all our new German friends! We appreciate all your help. Smile Your ARG looks like it was a lot of fun... I'm excited to see what happens with this one.

Did your member submit their name and address on ivankrotzler.com ? We believe that the people who signed up there are the ones who received the postcards.

"My Dear Ear" is Anna's way of greeting the person who has been listening to her (Dr. Larenz?). So "ear" in this case is a poetic way of using part of the person to describe the whole. Basically, 'ear' = 'listener' (= Larenz?)

Buca di beppo does an email invite thingy, so you can get them to send people invites to meet you at a selected restaurant. Anyhow, here's one I made earlier. Possibly all we may need to do is find the ID number.
For the copy of the invite:
