Yeah, that's part of my prob. I know zilch about stargate. I'm not even sure we should take that into account. Plus the numbers are patterns from what I can tell, but I don't know what to do with them. What's the next number?

2121654 ???
34545612 (3?)
54321234 (5?)
16561232 (1545? I really don't know but...)
1 (???)
654543432 (321?)

165454343 (2? 2321?)
2161612 (mirror)
323456 (???)
543432121 (??? this seems wrong)
6565123 (???)
45454561612 (???)

My Observations

Just a list of some of things I'M thinking about in relation to this one...i haven't had a huge amount of spare time, so these are just my own "notes", i haven't really been able to delve further into any of them

I'm not 100% sure it DOES have anything specifically to do with Stargate, apart from the filename leading us to the letter/symbols on the ring, which in turn gave us the letters on the grid. I just think Stargate was part of one of the earlier steps in a series required to solve this.

if each digit equals a letter, and the numbers have something to do with rotating the inner "grid", then all the "6"s would mean double letters. If you rotate a hexagon 6 times, you end up back where you started.

If each digit equals a letter, then there are no words like "and" or "the", in fact the smallest word(not counting the lone "1") would be 6 characters long.

The fact that the largest digit in any of the sequences is 6 could relate to a step involved decoding the numbers before we can use them on the letter grid. First thing that pops into my head whenever i see codes with a limited "character set" is base conversion.

What I see, personally, is a series of instructions for rotations. IE: rotate two steps, then one, then two...
Also, if it is base six, then it could translate each line into a different set of instructions (such that 2121654 in base six is 48159).
The way I see it is that each row of numbers corresponds to a single letter, or possibly two. Maybe we have to rotate 2 on the outside, then rotate 1, then draw a line between those two glyphs on the center DHD thingy, and continue on, which could make the shape of a letter.
Just my observation/theories/brain dump.

OK, this isn't helpful at all, but here's what I've been working on.

I added all the numbers in each line together (just cause I couldn't think of anything else) and here's what I got:
The Left column:
21, 30, 24, 26, 1, 36

Right Column:
35, 19, 23, 25, 23, 43

Also converted them straight to letters just to see what I'd get.
First, the columns as they are originally:
Left:
BABAFED
CDEDEFAB
EDCBABCD
AFEFABCB
A
FEDEDCDCB

Right Column:
AFEDEDCDC
BAFAFAB
CBCDEF
EDCDCBABA
FEFABC
DEDEDEFAFAB

Music notes, maybe? (Kept running through my mind as I was writing it out)

Ran the raw numbers through hex, nothing. Ran the sums through hex (with and without adding the lone 1 to the sum before it), still nothing. Not sure if I've got anything at all here, or if I'm just tugging at thin air, but there it is for now.

EDIT: OK, scrapping all of the above ideas. They're getting me nowhere, and I was hoping they'd translate to something related to the pic, but I can't see it.

ETAOIN is the order of the first six most common letters in the English language. The next six are SHRDLU (this lead me to www.tinyurl.com/shrdlu but that seems unlikely).

The image most likely relates to Stargate (the inside is a DHD, correct me if I'm wrong). This leads me to believe that this could be the username/password for Abydos. I'm looking at some stuff now, shall edit if I find anything.

Hey, double post, I know, but has anyone noticed how, on the translated picture that pancito made, the outside letters follow that order of most used letters? EATOIN SHRDLU Those are the two FractalP pointed out. Could that be important somehow?

I'm not sure if the letter frequencies actually matter, or if it's just a convenience... Very Happy For most of my testing, I started at E.

I think there's something between the fact that the numbers are 1-6 and that we have a hexagon. Haven't figured out how to use the spinner yet, but I think that's what needs to be done. What if you started the spinner at the highlighted letter instead of E or whatever. That would give us two start points for two columns. Hmmm... Can't do it right now so if someone can jump in, go for it.

@vawood>> Yeah, I noticed. It's in the long rambling post above the decoder ring.

@pancito: Oh...... Embarassed *hides* Forgot you'd written that part.

I get what you're saying about starting at those letters, but I still haven't quite understood how to translate the numbers into what we're supposed to do with the chart. Like "2121654" Are we turning the outside by two letters then looking at the first letter below it? Cause that doesn't work for lines with odds amounts of numbers.

That's the problem which initially led me to believe that one line = one letter.

I think I might be on to something.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
OK, so the C is green, the S is red. I took a chance and assumed that that meant that when we turn it, we should start on C and end on S. Taking my sums, I turned it and used the points of the hexagon (per the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfkgUxPdjcg that shows how to dial a stargate) to find the letters at those points. Starting at C for each column, I ended at S for each!

Here are the letters I got from the process:
Left column: B T R C W I
Right Column: J R D W P I

(Someone check these for me? Cause my brain is so full of numbers and letters now, I want to be sure I'm right.)

Now I know this might not be right, so I'm looking into what these letters may translate into.

Also, I'm not sure if the letters on the inside are worth anything, or maybe just there to throw us off?

Really wish I could be useful! I'm still around, just have nothing to contribute... I'm kinda lost with this, so I'm pretty much just watching and trying to learn.

Don't feel alone in your befuddlement. I think we're all going wtf at this point, but I do think we're making some sort of progress. At least I had a dream that we were... Very Happy I tried starting at C and just stepped around the outer circle the number of steps, starting at C each time. That gave me something like humfmq or something which I couldn't find anything to do with... (Really should have written it down. Drat.)

So is everyone convinced we're trying to find http://abydos.deceptech.com here?

Alternate reality dreaming? Lucky. Wink

I'm working on a series of variations of the gate with each symbol/letter at the top. Should have it done tomorrow (err... later today), and I'll try to upload it if I can.
Not sure how (or if) it'll help, but...

just a thought..

dont have enough time to get into this myself....getting ready to go away for easter...but...

if you look at the way the hexagon is made up, there are smaller hexagons inside the larger one, i think the rotation concept could possibly be applied to the "inner" hexagons...maybe...
