The name list on Babel's about page has been bugging me too...

T. Borgny, head of Acoustics.
L. Cole, head of Astrochemistry.
E. S. Williams, head of Biochemistry.
F. Bern, head of Computational Neuroscience.
L. Giles, head of Geomagnetism.
A. K. Deene, head of Quantum Mechanics.
H. Egberts, head of Second Harmonic Generation.

The first letters are TLEFLAH. Coming to mind:
THE FALL
HALF LET
HAT FELL
AFT HELL

dunno. just seems to conspicuous =P

I'm starting to think we're too quick for the webmaster Wink maybe the next step isn't online yet Razz

My best bet is we need to focus on the U.E.C. Also I think there might be a lot more to enter in the Remote Access box.

I haven't checked all the js files yet, but the script that shows the army_evac image is located in scriptaculous/sound.js as the function amen()
maybe more hidden features can be found there. One of the scripts is slider.js so that makes me think if theres some part of the page that can slide? and maybe unlocks something Smile

As I wrote earlier, I think that we've gotten most out of witb.nl; for babel I agree that there probably is more hidden behind the login box.

What we didn't use until now is the "unmask the url" from witb, saga / noevilsagasliveon from both sides and the waves / images...

I'm sure this is not a related fact, but I remember UEC abbreviation from Doom2.

Yeah, the unmask the url hint... I was thinking about that one aswell. The babelsite uses /?about=contact etc.. maybe we can do something with that.

But maybe we did unmask the url already, because we FOUND Babel-research.eu from the witb site. The ring was embedded from babel in a frame. And the url showed witb.nl so by unmasking the url, and finding out the ring is actually hosted at babel-research.eu/witb we might have solved that one already.

Still I think it holds potential.

As we discussed in IRC earlier i think unmasking has been done by finding the way from whatsinthebox.nl to babel-research.eu/witb

the three people, Higgs, Brout, and Englert, each had significant contributions to atomic theory, etcetc.
the references made?
The Higgs: possibly refering to the Higgs Boson, a part of matter that's responsible for the effects of mass, etcetc. it's basically what holds the current sub-atomic theories together.

from wiki (too lazy to remember famous physicists Very Happy): (Englert) made significant contributions in statistical physics, quantum field theory, cosmology, string theory and supergravity.
The Englert: either another part of the puzzle for the higgs boson, or just a mash of other stuff. i'm assuming something to do with supergravity; possibly related to the gravity gun (IF this really does relate to Half Life)

from wiki (again, read above): In 1964, Robert Brout, in collaboration with Francois Englert, discovered how mass can be generated for gauge particles in the presence of a local abelian and non-abelian gauge symmetry. This was demonstrated by them, both classically and quantum mechanically, successfully avoiding theorems initiated by J. Goldstone while indicating that the theory would be renormalizable. Similar ideas have been developed in condensed matter physics.
The Brout: again, a continuation of the Higgs, or the generation of mass.

they could also refer to nicknames of other scientists at the lab that the main character came from.

as for the bar codes, i'm just a tad lost with what to do with them. they'd need to be "flattened" and some other crap applied... can't think much further out of the box that this... D:

EDIT: just realized barcodes prolly won't have important information. try if you will, though Very Happy

@Tigerbee & Whacko: sorry, hadn't seen that in IRC... but I agree with both of you that the unmasking is probably done. One less thing to do Smile

P.S.: it's euIRC in channel #whatsinthebox

Do you see birds? Or is it my imagination?

And this is a tool/weapon which was used by protagonist of that "test film".

About the three names: There are three towers, every single one got its own name (the higgs, brout and englers towers) and the namings conclude that the whole building has something to do with highly advanced physical experiments and (see the site) with the goal to provide energy. One tower has been saved by usage of "the box" in the video. Don't think that there are more clues about the namings.
