Transcript of blip for the workers.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1: Hold on. Hold on, wait a sec, what the hell just happened?
Frank: A massive power interupt just automatically flipped us to threat condition Bravo.
1: Hey, there's a blip on the security board.
Frank: Hoooly crap!
1: We've got an intruder. C Wing, Personnel Building, right next to the motor pool.
Frank: Look. Security cam 34
1: It's a woman...
Frank: I'll say.
1: She's a bogey, Frank.
Frank: Hot though.
1: Jesus.
Frank: I have no idea how she got outta the base.
1: We'll ask her when we catch her.
Frank: Look at her run! God, she's fast.
1: Not for long. *beep* Sentry one two niner, you have a bogey in the corridor on the other side of that door, proceed with caution.
Frank: Whoa, whoa, whoa. She's dissappeared.
1: What do you mean, dissappeared?
Frank: I mean she's gone! No trace!
1: *beep* One two niner, what do you see?
*pause*
1: What do you mean the corridor's empty?!
Frank: She must have doubled back...
1: Run her down, damnit!
Frank: I can see the sentry fine, see? It's just...oh wait a sec...
1: There she is again...how the hell?
Frank: *sounds as if he's chuckling* Oh, oh, oh my God!
1: What?
Frank: She hid on the ceiling!
1: What the hell!!!

Coming around...

While breaking in to Personnel to return the key card, Jan triggers a power disruption felt all the way back to Jeremy's aparement. Or, the arrival of Durga causes the power disruption which might be why Jan is seen at all (guards who would otherwise have been unobservant were on alert because of the power disruption).

While I can believe Jan is Kumal's first disaterous date, it leads me to think that her quick departure had nothing to do with Durga. If it is Jan, I think she's lying to her "Dad" about why she was there, too. Could Jan have been wanting access to personnel to find out more about herself?

And, although I've only seen one person espouse this opinion so far, I agree that Jan is most likely a Spartan herself, not a descendant, and her "dad" is her ONI assigned keeper.

Blip

I couldn't listen, but thanks for the posting of the transcript.

I'm thinking that the "hot" bogey is not Jan.

They talk about her getting "out" of the base, not on to the base. This speculation is supported by the phrase "you have a bogey in the corridor on the other side of that door, proceed with caution"

This is the "Walk-away-girl" -- not Jan.

The guards know she has special abilities and are cautious of her.

Jan is different than this character.

i haven't heard four_goats yet (anyone know where i can get it?) but based on the transcript:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hiroyuki: did her parents have to pay to get her set up with a handsome medical resident?
Kamal: Yes. Four goats, or maybe three.
Hiroyuki: You're Joking
Kamal: Of course I'm joking, you moron.
Hiroyuki: What's her name?
Kamal: Sophia, Sophia Bosseneau
Hiroyuki: Someone who needs her dates arranged from 42 light years away, I'm sure she has a Great Personality.
Kamal: Look at the picture.
Hiroyuki: Oh man. Aww Man, you are so out of your league.

I would guess that Sophia's name (specifially her last name?) implies something about her being from 42 light-years away... why else would Hiroyuki get that impression.

klatuu: yes, it's obviously a program that is killed by Durga, "a very nice reconditioned avatar" to be specific.

No, Walkaway Girl is Jan, there is a line is walkaway.wav "The lovely and talented Miss James"

Also, in Blip, the "bogey" is said to be going towards the motorcade, which is what Jan is supposedly doing according to herself from Law abiding.

Umm, the walkaway girl is Jan. They mention her father as SPECIAL special ops. James James basically doesn't exist according to Durga. The PQI series clearly states that Jan was trying to escape from a military base. We don't need more evidence than that.

damn, people, PAY ATTENTION...

the walkaway girl IS Jan. if you LISTENED to walkaway_girl.wav you'd know that.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Frank: That's the reason they call her the "walkaway girl" man.
Officer: For god's sake she's treed Frank, I'll just send a couple of cadets to the roof to take her in.
Frank: I think I can get a... yeah, yeah yeah. Here we go. There. The lovely and talented Miss James, courtesy security cam 45.

sorry to be so harsh, but we have a hard enough time following all these replies, we don't have time for obvious crap...

On Ghosting

SPEC: With regards to Ghosting, Jersey mentioned monitoring through the ChatterNet. It looks like every one has an implant of sorts for making calls. It's usually off, but apparently he can break into it and activate it and listen to the environment. He says his date's has weak encryption, so it looks like the amount of encryption depends on how much the user wants to spend on it. Sometimes the user's ChatterNet is off, so he has to use other sensors around the person, probably built into the building, to keep track of him.

And it seems to be the end of the scene.

The walkaway girl is Jan. The missing clip is pillow, I believe. I read a description of the "pillow" phone call and one of the security guards recognizes Jan and says something (the caller couldn't remember what) about her dad[/quote]
