Looks like somebody needs to give them an Apple II.
I tried doing some research on the old Apple II motherboard, called the 'Revision 0' board, but that stuff is beyond me.
But yeah, that seems like a plausible course of action.

Sent an email off under the guise of a interested passer by to the site. Requested a higher res copy of the schematic too... Partially for my own inner-geekery than anything. >.> =]

Cray - this looks like my cube (before I loaded it up with junk). Nice chair. Also Nice website.
BTW Where do I order my "EI2″ girl?
This is the same entry with the image with the file name regarding keys in the cabinet.

The plot seems to be centering on this mystery-box-from-the-future: my guess is we're in the "background information" gathering stage, and things will ramp up afterwards.
For now, the priorities should probably be:
1) call the two telephone numbers to find out if they're automated messages or live people; and
2) make some form of contact with the two characters so we don't come off as overly weird once the crazy stuff starts going down.
I'll call tonight unless someone gets to it first. If I get a live person I'll just say a friend passed the info on and I'm interested in helping people who help the community.
Also I want to put together a list of IG websties and contact info for quick reference. Does anyone else think this looks IG? http://www.cray.com/Home.aspx
Its linked on the electron-innovations.com site

They could possibly be a sponsor or something - hence why they are linked?

Well AMD is linked too so you're probably right. The site looked kind of ARGish with the exception of lots of content. Anyway the site is legit. Will file under OOG.

FWIW the phone numbers listed are Southwestern Bell cell phones out of the Grand Prairie block.

Yeah.
And I thought the stack of 5.25" floppies in the one video was a nice touch.

OK I called the number for Cray Cook and got a live person. The conversation went something like this:
Quote:
Cray: Hello this is Cray Cook
Me: Hello Cray my name is Joe. A friend of mine passed along your information because he thought your company may be something I might be interested in speaking to you about.
Cray: Yes great could you send some information about yourself to me?
Me: Yes I can do that. What type of information would you like?
Cray: Just information about yourself. Your interests, credentials, areas of expertise. Are you a venture capitalist?
Me: No I'm not. I am just a bit of a techie. I build PCs and can repair laptops. My friend told me that you were a start-up company associated with the One Laptop per Child organization
Cray: Yes that is correct. Well we are branching out into something totally new and exciting. I don't want to give you to much information over the phone. We're actually documenting it on my blog website, which I'm very excited about. Did your friend happen to give you the link to the website.
Me: Yes I have seen the blog so I know a little bit about the company. I think it's great and I'd really like to help out in some way.
Cray: Do you have the PO Box?
Me: Yes I was given a PO Box. Would you like a resume.
Cray: Yes please send your information and I will contact you as soon as I look things over.
I totally forgot to mention that I lived in the Plano area. Well I'm sure the number came up on caller ID and she got the idea. I am going to start working on a resume of some sort tonight to send to the PO Box.
Game on!

Oh wow exciting!
*edit* there's a new threat in the forums. looks to be from a player.
*edit2* got an email back from Cray. i find it interesting that she was inquiring as to whether vapor was a venture capitalist, and that i passed myself off as an investor. anyways, the reply was inquiring as to the nature of my investing and if i could pass her any information. i took the stance of a private investing firm that prefers to remain anonymous.
*edit3* new blog post up, providing a higher res img of the cube. i think people were looking for a higher res pic of the schematics.

page source looked briefly over the sites page source. the only slightly odd thing I noticed was that in some places an apostrophe is represented by ’ whereas in other areas it is not. could this mean anything?
this is my first foray into args so if I'm screwing anything up please slap me on the wrists - I've already read most of the suggested documentation. I also posted on the forum of the site just to get some conversation going, see how they react, and am following on twitter.

Has anybody else noticed the number and configuration of the dots is different between the cube and schematic? Schematic has 6 dots - Cube 8. And the layout is mismatched on the top row between the two.

Good point. You may want to point that out to them on the blog in case they've "overlooked" that.
There is a new blog post regarding the emails and phone conversations. If it ever comes to live drops/character interaction I'll be down for that.

roman numerals the roman numerals translate to 2169.
Maybe there is a ninth button and maybe they should press the buttons on the cube in that order?
this is all spec
