[META] Distorted image text script

The following is a script for UNIX systems (and UNIX-based systems like Mac OS X) that will find the text in most of the distorted images without much noise to go along with it. It isn't perfect - some images have had text in them that fools strings. I don't know of a non-manual method for finding that yet.

strings $1 > $1.STRINGS
strings $2 > $2.STRINGS
diff -u0 $1.STRINGS $2.STRINGS
rm $1.STRINGS $2.STRINGS

To use the script, you need the same image in its distorted and non-distorted form. Run the script from the command line with the images as the arguments. For example, if you name the script dtextfind and have BUTABOUT.gif and BUTABOUT-1.gif as the two images, run:

The output will look something like this:
