Wulf, why do you think you were chosen as the person to "send" the message to PK?

I wish I had an answer for this one. I have no clue, it was probably as much as a surprise to me, as it was for Port. Maybe it's simply because I was constantly trading emails with him. No idea.

Good thought- but it doesn't respond to a ping (possibly not live yet?).

Maybe if you were chosen as the sole correspondent you have had the package delivered in some way? Is there any way to have a message embedded in an email secretly?

Also, as per classical, perhaps the digit order is wrong or the dot placement is incorrect.

*edit* i just tried a whole bunch of combinations using classical's string order. no dice.

There are a lot of blogs on Port King, going all the way back to January. Besides giving some history, maybe there are clues in them.

Ever seen National Treasure? Converting number code to locations by Line Word and Letter to a bunch of Letters?

Interesting idea. I checked the source the email that I supposedly sent to Port with the literary references, but didn't see anything. I suppose it's possible something is embedded in it - but frankly I wouldnt' know how to check, aside from viewing the source. And I *barely* read that.

I took the numbers you guys listed out earlier, and tried converting them to numbers/words etc. But didn't come up with anything relevant. I tried running the results of the conversion through a Ceasar cipher, rotated all 26times - no love. Also tried to see if there was an anagram for the results -again nothing. If you're interested, the results when converting the letters to numbers = A I A D A O A P.

Maybe the package is an entire email itself; one that hasn't been shared and contains important info? I'm pretty sure I've shared all mine, but I'll go through and post everything I have from PK:

Quote:
I saw the e-mails and they were definitely odd...and nothing that I
know about. The only thing I can think is that the link to my blog
was misspelled. It makes no sense to me.

As for the article link that I sent, I personally think that he was
set up. It stuck in my mind because to write that on a suicide note
would make no sense. That's like writing "I'm at 1407 Oakhurst
Avenue, come help me!" and then getting in your car and driving away,
you know? I would only write that on a note if I was under duress and
wanted to let someone without alerting the person who has me in that
position.

I was just giving your colleague an example of how the symbols and
codes of Masonry tie so many things together in odd ways. That's all.
I didn't know he would share the link.

Okay...I'm a moron, you got me. For the last time I DON'T TALK TO GODDAMNED REPORTERS.

I should have caught on sooner. Have your laugh and then screw off.

Quote:
Okay. Listen...it's a password. Saying it's the password is like saying that you know the combination to every vault in the world because you once worked at a bank.

Sorry about the tinfoil hat comment, but you're e-mail struck me like that guy asking, "What's the frequency, Kenneth?" You know? Like I was supposed to have some canned response to you because you write the name.

I don't know why my blog was linked, but I can tell you that there are a lot of guys who at one time or another explored Masonry...so it's not that big of a coincidence.

I'm thinking that someone is playing a game with me.

Quote:
And here's your tinfoil hat. Thanks.

Quote:
Detectives, huh? Ever heard the term "following your own tire tracks?"
I've never heard of Kelvin or a Curran and my experience with the name DeMolay started and ended with a men's group that I was in a lifetime ago.

And I apparently don't know who all reads my blog but I'm sure the link to your thing is accidental.

Sorry Brother. I'm just a fellow traveller who can't shed much light on your current "case."

Have a good one.

I don't know anything about a Curran or a Maury Kelvin. I've heard of DeMolay before. Why? What does this have to do with?

I emailed DeMolay asking who had the package, who isn't sharing. This is the reply:

Quote:
Aha! The game is officially afoot afoot, my friend.

Alas...poor Mr. Kelvin is no longer necessary now is he? Necessary. Too bad for the little stinking pig. Stinking pig in the end.

Oh yes, the package. Most interesting. Interesting that package.

Some of the Ancients of your own little brood have it but they are so above you. Above you.

Too bad too bad.

Now we'll have to do this the hard way...

Ok, so one of the admins here have a package in their email or PM that they're not sharing with us (maybe because they don't realize it). I know Rogi came in here asking the PM to click a link in his signature. Wtf was that about, anyway?

What does everyone make of this? Sounds like Mr Kelvin is going to be killed. "no longer necessary". Was he too deliver us the package?

I just asked him what's involved in doing this the hard way.

I suppose it could be an Admin, but I'd think it likely that one of the Admins would've posted something about it - and would've associated it by now. Frankly the likelihood of someone getting an actual package in the mail and not telling anyone else about it is nil.
"Ancient" could refer to and admin - but maybe it relates to someone who either has a lot of posts OR has been a registered member for a long time.

If you go back and check out Rogni's link - it takes you to the search feature for the forums. I've actually seen him do this before - and I've never understood why - so I doubt it means anything significant.

Mr. Green *waves* @ PM's. If you wanna send me the package, I'll be sure and post it! Just PM me, and I'll give you my address Laughing

I've been having my own little conversation with JDM:

Quote:
Message delivered, Mr. DeMolay.

Whose lives? What do you have on Maury Kelvin? And Portnoy King?

And we may be dirty birds, but remember that Kehaar saw far enough to tell the rabbits what was about to go wrong.

A little Watership in-joke. Kehaar was the gull allied with the rabbits who helped them find the new place to move to.

His response:

Quote:
Such a smart bunny are we! Try this one. One. Sometimes the elil are just what they appear to be.

Oh and wonderful inquiry inquiry on Kelvin...what do we have on him? Currently? A thumb! Thumb. Soon to be a foot or six. Pasty faced sweaty sweaty cow. Then the score will be be zero for you and one for me. Me.

And poor Mr. King. What a sad sack! Sack. That one is destined for greatness.

You just watch.

Isn't the excitement palpable?

Analysis:

(A)Elil are the enemies of the rabbits. So JDM is what he appears to be...a Templar? The Templar? A stuttering jerk?
(B)Maury Kelvin's about to get curbstomped? Also-- note use of we. JDM has allies, but he's evidently in charge (see "zero for you and one for me. Me.")
(C) Sad sack was a cartoon character, a la Beetle Bailey. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sad_sack

I think Pam Portnoy is OOG...

And, here's a bit of META thought re: Maury Kelvin

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
He was supposed to be a more active role, but his existence is illegal. Characters aren't supposed to post on the boards, they're supposed to be completely OOG. That's why the mods came in. I've tried to contact MK outside of these forums, but he hasn't responded yet--it looks like the PM has decided to kill him off in response to the mods saying he shouldn't have posted. That's my thought, anyway.

And non meta thought:
We know he's alive and he's at least somewhat indpendent of JDM--that's why JDM had him make the innocuous post. I sent him an email via the uF emailer as well as the PM, have heard nothing.

"one of the ancients of our brood" has to mean someone who's been around here for a long, long time. someone with a lot of posts. not necessarily an admin, but could be. regardless, it looks like demolay said "we'll have to do it the hard way now". i'm assuming that means we'll get our next clueset/info someway other than the package that was delivered to an ancient.

how and when that might happen, who knows.

Sorry for the confusion.
I've had that as a signature for so long I forgot that it went to the search function and not to this:

Interesting, I'll pass this along to Mr. King as well. It's almost in direct contrast to what he's been claiming.

I'm also leaving work for the day. I'll try and keep up as best I can.

Project, why would the Templars be enemies of the Rabbits? I don't know too much detailed history, only generics, but aren't Freemasons the remnants of the Templars, making the Templars the rabbits?

Touchy subject that. There's a lot of speculation that the Freemason's WERE the Templars - but no direct evidence of it.

Plus, DeMolay is a Templar name--the last Templar grand master, who was burned at the stake. And he, apparently, is the elil, since he called me a bunny and he's talking about killing people. I mean, we can all agree that if JDM isn't a bad guy, he's at least seriously misguided, right?

And Rogi's link is exactly what I was talking about meta-wise.

Edit--Maybe we just need to let things simmer a little bit? I mean, unless it's "save Maury Kelvin," we don't have much of a goal here, and MK's not answering any questions (BTW, six feet "on" MK could be six feet of dirt, or three pairs of feet--JDM as a member of a trio). JDM keeps saying "wait," and "watch." Maybe we're still in the prologue?
