.. dunno, if it's gaelic.. online dictionaries don't find translations all words..
Quote:
báth = a person who has been drowned and cast ashore within its functional area or who has otherwise perished and whose body has not been claimed for burial
if Lú stands for itself, it is translated to Louth.. a a county on the east coast of Ireland
..
it could also be: No bath with IU.... ~.~

Well if you look closely at this picture you can see it says. "Nu Bath Githlu." I agree with the celtic symbol thing but for some reason I think other symbols look tribal or alchemical don't you?
Just had this email back from Roahoe.

3 symbols, 3 words. Nu and Gi don't appear on the periodic table, so there's no number string. There's no U and no G by themselves, either.
I don't see any pictographic element symbols that match, either.
Why is this picture approaching 2 megs? Opening in photoshop.
*edit* oh yay for macs, don't have any desteggers or anything.

Think the size of the image might just be to do with the... uh... size of the image.
2048x1536 at 180dpi according to the file properties.

Yes, but sometimes a big file pic like that could mean it's stegged...

Just looking at those symbols and the only one that even looks slightly relevant to Alchemic symbols is the one in the top right; looks a little bit like this Alchemic symbol turned slightly.

Oh good call, I wasn't taking into account rotating it.
I can't find that here -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_elements_by_symbol
Is it Mars? This reminds me of a puzzle I did in Zork Nemesis a lifetime ago.

@LS: Sweet find on the Alchemy synbol. What does it represent?
Maybe relevant: while searching for the ??Gaelic?? I noticed that Roehoe doesn't really exist as a boy's name. However, the best sources inc. this Dictionary for Dolts explain that the word Rojo (red) is pronounced as Roe Hoe. So....
our contact"s full name is possibly Red Herring

>.< I said to Lairosiel last night I was expecting their name to turn out to be Red Herring. Damnit.
Lairosiel also found this last night too:
(manure)
which is pretty close.
Annoyingly - searching for tribal art just brings back tattoos mainly. =/
[---edit---]
What's the betting the other symbol means "bull"?
[---edit2---]
Not sure how to reply to his email now either - call him on it, ask him if he or Molly had any tribal/Celtic/Gaelic ties...
Hrm.

As soon as I saw Herring I was wondering where Roahoe meant Red...
The sign I posted is the one for Magnesium. Lair's pic is also quite similar.

Dude why are you worried about my name. Molly is still missing and all we have is some scribble on a dry erase board to help. I think I'm going to look at it closer. Run it through google or something.

What do you think Nu Bath Githlu means?? And what kind of symbols do you think they might be around it??
I tried searching them and one could be the Celtic Cross although I'm not sure, the top right hand symbol does remind me however of the Alchemic symbol for magnesium turned sideways though.
