Blankity blank blank...

You have to enable the layers. If you're using Photoshop, you should look in the lower right hand corner of the application and you'll see the layers dock. Click on the "Visible" box for each layer.

photoshop layer minitutorial :)

mrpotatoe's image is only blank until you set the layers to "visible". to do this, look at your "layers palette" and for each layer, click the left box to show an eye. this will make that layer visible. repeat for each layer. you can make them hidden by clicking again to remove the eye.

for simplicity i've attached a jpg of the image with just the dots

i used layers in photoshop...you'll have to activate the layers in order to view them...i did that so it would be easier to tell which dots go where in relation to the grid. ill post jpegs of each of the layers for the people who dont have photoshop.

Possible meaning for bottom right corner?

There is such thing as a blank rune. Below is the meaning and attached is a picture (blank- ha ha Very Happy ) Maybe the bottom right corner was meant to be left blank.

http://www.ipcc.com/market/newage/runes2.html#perth

THE UNKNOWABLE - Rune of No Meaning
Some dispute the existence of this as a true rune. The meaning is that of the non-knowable nature. It is the black hole of knowledge. Zero by anythng is still zero and it sometimes represents the darkest fears of us because it represents the nothingness we may come from and may return to. Use meditation on this concept to confront your darkest fears of our reality.

Meanings of three other runes I could find

Here are meanings of three other runes. The pictures are attached below and can also be seen at www.ipcc.com/market/newage.runes.html and www.ipcc.com/market/newage.runes2.html.

FEHU - Cattle
This is what the community considers wealth. The commodity of the norse peoples before a currency was established, and you better believe that they sacrificed one of the herd now and then to keep the gods happy. The important reminder is to always be thankful and humble when things are well in the economy. Meditation focuses on a type of thanksgiving for what has been acquired and not to squander when things are plentiful. Appreciate that there will be a rainy day by the rules of cycles

THURISAZ - The Seeing of Things to Pass
There is a controversy of the meaning of this rune. Some note the negative forces of the dark side ourselves. Some say that it represents the ugly things like demons, trolls and giants. Overall these may be in the same area of meaning. There is a dark side that we must take control of in ourselves to break free of them and not become them. Be careful on the meditation. Focus mainly on the identification and overcoming of the darker sides of things inside and outside ourselves.

URUZ - Brut Strength
The strength of the wild animal is desired by the best warriors. The notion of living to survive and to know the possibility of death and to accept it as the simple answer to what life is. Meditation is knowing that life is to be lived at full speed and to live life for life. When your life is over, a new life will begin in your place on earth and you will go on. A person who lives like this has no regrets of a premature death, for each day was fully lived.

As if the 'eye' remark I made last night isn't enough to show my true ignorance - I submit...

The picture I see at

http://mopi.org/ctw/mythosphere.org/tab1full-mod1s-over-frequen.jpg

appears to be a barrel or maybe a can of beer. Here in Texas we use barrels for BBQ pits and what goes better together than beer and BBQ. I could be on to something or maybe I'm just drunk and hungry,

z23 is just a mathematical way of saying we're dealing with the set of numbers that are mod 23, namely 0 through 22. So, basically, it's something we already knew.

i assume that everyone already noticed that the numbers in Mopi's post are the same in the source code from the left half of the table? I tried the ones from heraclitus and didn't get anything.

As far as I can tell there is only 1 unique character in the grid. The urn in the far left column, nine spaces down.

This urn falls in a #9 square. If you take only the 9's and highlight them you get a unique pattern that looks like a double letter O with 12 squares making up the inner circle and 10 squares forming the outer circle. So far it is the only one I've found that looks like it forms a recognizable pattern.

Questions: Mod 23 grid

No insight, but I want to summarize
some issues here about the grid
structure.

The grid has the 22x22 shape of a mod 23 multiplication table, and it says on a mythosphere page, more or less, that that is what it should be.

This is impossible, because it has many adjacent entries which are equal, both horizontally and vertically, and no symmetry, while multiplication is commutative. (And since 23 is prime, all entries in each row and column should be distinct.)

The table appears to be aligned in pairs of vertical columns. However even if you break it down to individual pairs, there are plenty of equal entries in one column paired with unequal entries in the other (in both directions).

There is a huge amount of repetition of subblocks, mostly vertical strips and some pentominoes. There's a triple repetition of the strip type in the first three columns, and circles like to have x's below them.
The equal pairings are also more vertical than horizontal.

There is a pairing of symbol types, as discussed earlier - two locks, keys, trees, men, hands, snakes, eyes, etc.
(Not sure what the skull goes with though.)
You get a somewhat different chart
if you decide these symbols are to be considered identical. Unfortunately this does not bring the number of symbols down to 22. And it aggravates the issue of too many equalities.

Anyway, we've been hit over the
head with the mod 23 clue, which
leads one to suspect we have the info necessary to decode.

Are there any viable theories left
as to what this grid is?
