I not sure but i think the device look like this , because if you read the description of malako ,you will notice that it's more like and ebook reader than a digital SLR , someone drop it while running the guy was wearing a hat and running very fast .

imo malako is part of the game .
I'll send him and email in french pretending that i'm the owner , we'll see.

An odd Dharma Initiative sticker in Berlin. I haven't seen the design in the middle before... I wonder if this is involved somehow, though I seriously hope not...

Please don't tell me I have to know about other JJ games to get this! XD

I tried looking up Karnis, Janus and Candir... Janus is the god with two heads, after whom January is named... also it's used to refer to double agents (the Janus list being a list of double agents, etc).

Candir is a place in Turkey... not much for Karnis. I don't even know if it's relevant. *shrug*

New Star Trek ARG Clue: Possible Twitter persona In Game

Has anyone been following the Twitter discussions about the Star Trek ARG? I been tweeting with someone by the username of AliceForrest700 for about a week now. This morning (5:25 am EST) she posted a couple of tweets that now have me thinking she is In Game.

She started with:
"I have just passed through the looking glass to other side. I will report from there. I can still use my hash tag."

Then sent:
"something has happened to me. Something very strange. it was a single tweet that did it. I'm..I'm not home anymore."

And finally:
"I don't understand. I thought it was just a game. Now..."

For those of you who aren't already on Twitter, you can follow AliceForrest700's postings at: http://twitter.com/aliceforrest700

I sent her a message asking what's up, but have received no reply yet.

I'm thinking of going back to the binary sites (http://www.0101001101101001.jp/ etc etc) to see if there's anything in the audio on those sites.
Only problem is I'm none too savy on pulling audio from flash. Any tips?

Back and catching up. First of all i can't believe that

A: kosmopol actually drew a sheep
B: It was effective

Sometimes one side or another of these things take things way to serious, definitely not the case here. Games can also be fun. This one is.

Next contact at 6 pm GMT on 19th?

OK some speculation:

At least some of "The Gang" were slave labor in salt mines? Something like Kessel (Star Wars) and the spice mined there would explain "no one's reading our minds (here)"
Now they're out, and formed a group. Don't seem very well trained, sort of winging it. Their purpose is:

A: Save the Federation (of course)
B: Exact hideous revenge

In which case we should:

A: Help guide O. Malak to return their device to them.
B: Keep it from them at all cost.

Simple decision. Not as tho a lot is riding on it.

Well, I'd say, even if I actually wrote a sheep, Malak0 replied to everybody, who wrote to him, so I fear, my drawing wasn't such effective, as I'd wish Smile

He replied to just all my messages...

Anyway, Malak0 is also for me IG. If he were OOG, he would either ignore all our creepy messages, or he would make great blog post for this device (with pics, videos and discriptions) and perhaps digg it more times for better popularity Smile

About http://twitter.com/aliceforrest700, she is pehaps IG, or perhaps in so far IG as Dan Bronsen was (Dharma Wants You) [d.h. kinda player, who writes many meta, but seems to be more involved as usual player could be].

P.S. Perhaps it's completely irrelevant, but Malak0 reminds me about Russian word Молоко (moloko = milk).

hey guys
just got a reply from malako

Quote:
J'aurai, peut-etre, besoin de l'aide. Merci de ton offre.

which means : I will , maybe , need your help . thank you for the offer .

apparently he is not planning to get it back to the owner (maybe the device doesn't exist , it's just part of the game) all we can do is helping him switch it on , retrieve the data and send it to us .

so do you guys have any idea how to guide him to switch the device on ?

Umm... is there an 'On' button? Maybe one of the people in contact with him can get him to describe the interface a bit more, so we know a bit more about what we're dealing with...

red herring
new comment on Google Map

From the other side of the looking glass, I can see a red herring. There is a new comment on the Google Map http://bit.ly/2387-42 from Malak0.

His Google profile links to http://www.dezibelmusik.de/ which repeats the opening of http://2387-42.com and adds some new Japanese script.

This domain turns out to be registered by Marcel Anke in Germany who is also Marcel0815 on the TrekMovie Forum and the owner of http://www.spin.de/hp/%3Emaxpower23%3C/

Nice try Marcel!

Hehehe! Cool they are commenting my map! Very Happy

Anyway, the Japanese writing is

お客様のフィードバック (customer feedback)
And... well, look at the Slusho webpage http://www.slusho.jp

Compare:
and

This is copy of the text.

Slusho, a weird drink, was one of the main themes in the ARG to JJ Abrams' Cloverfield. Actually, Slusho will also appear in Star Trek, it is kind of easter egg trademarking.

But I suppose, dezibelmusik.de is not really red herring (because red herring is usually used by the unique authors of the game). Perhaps it's a gamejack or something. Well, but really nice try Smile
Weiter so Smile

UPDATE. Dezibelmusik.de is fully OOG.
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.dezibelmusik.de
It was used already 2004

UPDATE2. He updated his page:

if you scroll down, you'll see on the down right site VI, linked to this page:
http://97.74.158.187/ (note, it is just one cipher different as the IG site http://97.74.158.186/). [/end of the analysis of a nice game jack]

Hi, all.

I'm new to posting here, although I've been lurking around unfiction since the Cloverfield days. Didn't really have anything new/interesting worth posting until this game got going - and now I've been pulled in. Fun stuff.

Anyway, in addition to the AliceForrest700 thing on Twitter this morning, there is one other thing I saw recently which I suspect might part of the Star Trek ARG (and which I haven't seen mentioned anywhere yet). The current issue of Wired magazine (which came out on Thursday) is "guest edited" by J.J. Abrams and includes a 6-page comic tied to the new Star Trek movie. One of the subplots in the comic is Spock pondering a purple puzzle called "Sarek's Dilemma." I can't see anything in the comic itself that could be connected to an ARG, but it just "feels" like it should be tied in somehow.

Finally, regarding the rumor about Slusho making an appearance in Star Trek, I thought that turned out to be a red herring/inside joke from the Bad Robot people ... in one of the early interviews I read, it said that Abrams' use of the name "Kelvin" for a starship was the Easter egg appearing in Star Trek that connected it to his other works, and that the writers couldn't make Slusho fit into the 24th century universe of the film.

Thank you for this information, it was new for me! I suppose, JJ Abrams wanted to hide some easter eggs in Star Trek, but he also fear of all the Star Trek fans, who could be upset from somebody mixing his own universe (JJ Abrams with Slusho etc.) into their familiar Star Trek universe.

Btw, I've written to Malak0 again, and it seems, we'll have some updates soon.

This appareil is not mine, but to identify, whose it is, I need perhaps a picture or a little bit more description.
You know, perhaps I'll just help you with free will to find the owner. And you'll get of course the whole reward. I'm just very curious about the nature of the appareil.

Greetings!
P.S. How did you like my sheep drawing? Smile

and he answered:
Quote:

Thank you for the aide- I try to share pictures.

Sheep too big for my planete.

I just hope, with pictures he means device, not sheeps Laughing

And... does he playing a role of Le Petit Prince now with his small planet? Smile

Could be. A TV add for Cloverfield just before it came out ran with all the "i"s missing from the MPAA rating. It seemed to be a wink to Tom Tooman's "look for what you are mssng" a totally unrelated (as far as I know) ARG that was running at the same time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgaigXFVobY

And of course there's Slusho Smile
