I ran this thru JPH and Camouflage and wasn't able to come up with anything. It's possible it just returned a false negative - as it didn't find anything at all for me. Said the image hadn't been modified... /shrug

Well, going off a hunch from the email Wulf received from "Val Seer":
Quote:
dropped a line to "Val Seer"(wewatchSPLATymail.com) asking if they were behind PK being moved to DC - the response:
Quote:
Quote:
if King is, in fact, en route to Washington, then it has begun; our current communication channels are no longer safe; the writer can help you to understand even though he himself does not; you will find us again

I assumed that we should contact our writer friend Mr. Bricker Looking for some guidance, the reply just arrived...
Quote:
truth be told; the owner abandoned this website more than a year ago; this communication channel is no longer safe; findthewriter

A quick search for findthewriter so far has turned up nothing of any consequence, but a search on twitter turned up "thewriter" http://twitter.com/TheWriter. I dont know if she is IG yet, but
I'll be searching in some other places.[/quote]

I am not the PM of this game, I assure you. I also have never PM'd an ARG (although I'd like to *wink wink whomever's watching*.

My Twitter name IS Syntrocity. You seem to employ fail logic.

Perhaps that's because you are an agent of the PM trying to cause trouble. We identified you awhile back as being such.

HOLY @#$!#$

Ok - maybe I'm a bit overly excited - but I got a piece of mail today. Just got home from work - opening it now - taking pictures, and will include whatever else I can, as quick as I can...

But for starters - the return address is:
King
7550 N. May
OKC, OK 73116

Which means PK must've sent it shortly before he was picked up....

@Schwinn: Which is why, I think, that italicized email still has a code in it we have yet to figure out. I think he was trying to give us a different form of contact with him--have been anagraming everything with a 'DOT COM' that I can think of with it.

Also: OMG PACKAGE

Hopefully there is something in this package that might help with the decode.

I think this is the first and last time in my life that I will ever say these words:
Come on man show me your package!

I feel dirty now.

So do I, and I'm not sure I wanna share now.. Shocked

Ok - so I might have gone overboard with the pictures I guess, but I wanted to make sure I got everything covered. Port's handwriting is very distinctive and neat. All uppercase, and fairly easy to read. I snapped pics of some of the pages that had phrases highlighted, but I'm not sure those are relevant.

The package came with a stained napkin rubber-banded to an old worn out copy of "As A Man Thinketh" by James Allen.

The napkin says:
Quote:
Brother -
This is all I hold dear. Please keep it safe. I can't lose this too.
Port

As I removed the rubberband, and opened the book - the first thing that caught my eye was a man's gold wedding band! No inscriptions, inside or out - very plain.

And to avoid writing a book here myself, I got pictures of everything. Everything in the book that had a handwritten note/scribble/doodle/etc is recorded. You can find all (52!) of the pictures here
.

Please let me know if there is any clarification needed on anything. And trust me when I say I gave everything a good review. There's nothing in the spine of the book - on the cover or anything else. There was a single strand of hair (might be mine, but can't be sure), that I've already sent off to the lab to have checked for DNA Laughing

=edit=
It looks as tho all the pictures posted in order...

Whee, thank the internet and public domain; if anyone is curious, you may read the entire book here.

Was that directed at me? Are you saying I am a PM? Or is this an inside joke? I'm sorry I am new to this and I know I haven't contributed much but I guess I still don't understand. Why is your twitter name on the list of known fake names?

Should I not ask? I didn't really mean to be accusatory but I thought it was odd.

I'll go back to lurking I guess...or maybe take a break from ARGing for find a "newbie" arg to join.

Sorry to have disrupted.

Try not to take offense, KV.

This game has had a lot of twists, and a lot of meta/oog drama and conflict. Keeping that in mind, it's not easy (especially for some of us.. Syn..) to trust new players.

When I came back to uF after a pretty lengthy absence, I joined a game called "An Experiment in Law Enforcement". When I finally got around to joining the IRC to give some advice I'd come across, I received the grilling of my life courtesy of Lunsford - a person that I've become very close friends with since that first day.

(edited in, because it somehow cut off) :

ARG players are a paranoid lot. We're always trying to read events around us to figure out what's going on behind the scenes. If you stick around long enough, you'll find yourself doing the same.

In any case, your posts have been insightful and helpful. If you're enjoying the game, play it. I, for one, am happy to have another addition to our dwindling team.

Agreed.

Stick around, join in the confusion and headaches - cuz as They say "misery loves company".

Just to add a bit more to what Burrito said - if you've been lurking since the beginning you know that there were several suspicious "new" members to uF who would make a single post - and then disappear, they're profiles telling nothing. Frankly I suspected a few who have turned out to be a great contribution to the team. I had just never seen so many new people at one time.

Welcome to uF and the world where This Is Not A Game, means more every time you hear it. And if you start to suspect your mother is an alien or CIA implant - you know you've joined the rest of us. : Twisted Evil
