He certainly seems like he's close to snapping, doesn't he?

And I had the thought... what if we're not supposed to decode those numbers?

What if we're supposed to listen to them? Yosemite Sam WAS a broadcast, right?

It sounds like he is trying to give us clues on how to use the 2 sets of numbers. The only thing I can think of is to try reversing (role reversal?) the numbers before using them. OTP cryptography is a combination of subtraction and alpha substitution. I've also seen numbers station codes split into pairs before the subtraction occurs (ie 6289 become 62 and 89)

This one could be a tough solve. Very Happy

I'll work more on it tonght if it hasn't been solved by the time I get home from work.

I'm not able to login to the IG forum.

Could somebody who has access to "Handwriting" try "evolution", "The Sentinel" and "monolith"?

I'm pretty sure I tried monolith before. Unfortunately, after the Grid Reset, I no longer have access to "Handwriting." Hopefully someone else does.

If you want to try your hand at any of the other open puzzles (e.g., Obelisks Confederacy, Antelopes, Stamps etc.) be my guest! Smile

I was playing around with the grid today. It seems there is an extended grid we can't see. try typing in Page T1 or Page Z2 and see what you get. I have a feeling these are like "reserve" grid areas and when you get a solve it moves it over. I'm pretty sure we have access to all the puzzles at any time despite what the visible grids says we do.

eta: It seems like pages in the T1 - V3 grid area is the reserve

eta2: I just realized that with that in mind we can probably go ahead and unlock all the puzzles if there are any left to find.

I tried playing with this -- for me I can access puzzles starting at g1 h1 etc etc. but they all seem to be puzzles that have already been solved, so I'm not sure that this is helpful. I haven't explored this real systematically, though.

Unlocked Morse Code puzzle on U1. Does anyone else get the same puzzle from this grid? Maybe the extended grid pages are constant while the visible are random?

U1 is locked for me. I tried solving V1 which is the escher page, but if I type solve v1 it says it's locked, even though I can view the code.

I reset my grid also and no longer have access to that puzzle, but I did try "The Sentinel".

chatted with cray a bit tonight. It seems the gatekeeper for the game is breaking the code of Bertram.

Quote:
12:51 AM
me: nice cameo.
12:52 AM
craycook: what are you talking about?

me: that's not your hand and camera in Bs recent vid

?

craycook: yes, it would be... didn't know he posted
12:53 AM
me: hahahah!

yeah. what are you gonna do with the footage?
12:54 AM
craycook: I'm just so worried... trying to get help from everyone

I need him to help with the second cube, but worried about it all

me: what are you thinking?

(at least you know he's not dead...)
12:55 AM
craycook: well, the first cube is connected to the only hardware we have

me: oh. right.

do you think the 1st cube will reset if you unplug it to add the 2nd

craycook: I could ask the company if anyone has an old mac, but I don't to tell them either right now
12:56 AM
don't want to take any chances

me: yeah...that's an issue

any leads from the craigslist add you posted a few weeks back

craycook: Ah, some but most are crazy spam
12:57 AM
me: yeah... is it possible to hook it up to a different computer... maybe one more modern, or the laptop you are designing?

craycook: We already tried that... no luck
12:58 AM
me: can you just talk to it... see if it whispers back? Wink

craycook: hahaha... Tried that.

me: so.. you didn't even talk to bertram?
12:59 AM
craycook: I couldn't. The place was a wreck and smelled awful

something burned

me: burned? like sulfur?
1:00 AM
craycook: have NO idea

me: gross

Well, as a videographer... nice work sneaking up on him, but I don't think he's tuned into the outside world right now
1:01 AM
craycook: no, he didn't even know I was there

me: Do you read his blog? Has he always been so paranoid? or is it worse right now?
1:02 AM
craycook: I read occasionally but refuse to follow. Sometimes I just don't want to know

me: Because I want to take what he says seriously, but I can't tell if he is crazy of not

or not.... rather
1:03 AM
craycook: well, I've known him a long time and he's not a real social person

huge heart under the surface tho
1:04 AM
me: sure. it's clear he is passionate
1:05 AM
craycook: it makes him good at what he does

me: which is?
1:06 AM
a programmer?

craycook: yes

me: you both are. right?

or... are you more of the hardware expert?
1:07 AM
craycook: I'm the hardware person
1:08 AM
me: I get it. Well, in your own opinion, what do you want to do with the cube? From a hardware perspective. (I'm no expert btw)

craycook: Oh, I definitely want to hook it up.

but it's scary to be honest

I want B to be in on it

rather than the company
1:09 AM
me: Hasn't B kind of bailed on you... for the time being

maybe knowing that you are able to move forward without him... maybe that will draw him back out of his hole
1:10 AM
craycook: well... true

but I've emailed, called etc. he doesn't respond

me: exactly
1:11 AM
you can't really force him. right?

and he's bigger than you... Wink
1:12 AM
craycook: yup, but I think I hurt him by not listening to him
1:13 AM
me: about what?

about the corporation and going in with them?

craycook: the decision to go with the company

they're leaving me alone too

me: nice!
1:14 AM
craycook: let's hope I made the right decision

me: How about this is an idea (and I'm only brainstorming here), take the console offline...plug the new cube in

so you can keep it private from the corporation

see what it does yourself
1:15 AM
and then pug the old cube back in... put it allback online

did that make sense

craycook: with everyone trying to solve the puzzles it will shut down for awhile?

I don't even know if B's interface will work tho
1:16 AM
me: it might not.... but then you just plug the old cube back in

craycook: hmmm
1:17 AM
I hate to admit that I'm nervous about it

me: it's not like we have made a lot of headway today on the puzzles....

well. I'm just bouncing ideas off you. Just brainstorming

what makes you nervous about it
1:18 AM
craycook: Well for starters I thought the first cube was a paperweight.

and now it's like it's alive

me: right... reasonable conclusion!

yes it is
1:20 AM
well... maybe the new cube will have network capabilities and wireless connect to the old cube

what are you calling it? Cube Prime?
1:21 AM
craycook: haha... it needs a name.

me: I feel silly saying this, since we are dealing with what appears to be future technology, plugging your Dad's cube in may actually plug both of them in

but I'm just speculating
1:24 AM
sorry for the crazy talk....
1:25 AM
craycook: not at all... there are so many theories on the forum

my head spins sometimes

me: mine too

I'm so puzzled out right now, that I'm seriously mentally fatigued
1:26 AM
craycook: how many have been solved so far? I've lost track
1:27 AM
me: I want to connect with poor Bertram, but he's insists that he won't speak to anyone who breaks his code....

1 million

with 2 million to go

Maybe that' why B isn't responding to your calls... you haven't cracked his code! A ha

craycook: squid said the same thing!
1:28 AM
or suggested I try to crack it

me: great minds

craycook: I'm chatting with him too... and jabroni

me: he's mildly making fun of me over the IM!

oh nice. I've met both of them through your company.

The cube brings people together!

I should write a theme song
1:30 AM
craycook: LOL!! please do

me: I just might...
1:32 AM
It seems like we are all in a holding pattern right now

craycook: I could use that right now. things are so tense

I mean the song

me: yep...

tomorrow... things will be better
1:33 AM
what are you gonna do with your fottage. Blackmail B?
1:34 AM
craycook: Nah... but that's a thought.
1:35 AM
When I went there I wanted to talk to him, but he was so engrossed

I just thought maybe I could appeal to you all for help

me: his place is engrossed. Emphasis on gross

What can we help you with.

craycook: Didn't think he was going to post a vid

me: did you think he was just talking to himself?
1:37 AM
what is it we can help you with

craycook: It was all a blur

me: specifically

craycook: get him to talk to me again

me: ok

I will try

and I'll try to get others to help
1:38 AM
craycook: thank you. most sincerely!!!

me: absolutely.

I'll be up for a bit longer if you need anything else

later cray!
1:39 AM
craycook: Later and thank you!

me: you are welcome

and then a bit later.

I think map sums it up good

1:54 AM
if you have time to type that text for us...it would really help a bunch
1:57 AM
craycook: I haven't seen that yet... still on IM with jabroni and squid

me: ok.... ask them about it... it seems to be stressing everyone out
2:01 AM
craycook: oh. you're right.

I am so not a puzzle person.
2:03 AM
OOOH... now I realize which puzzle this is. Yes all that text. omg. No I will not type this out! lol

me: well.. it's your call. however, if you could type out the text with your laserbeam circuit board eyes...it will give us more time bring bertram back round
2:06 AM
craycook: okay. I'll have it asap.
2:07 AM
not.

me: hilarious....
2:08 AM
craycook: is this the one B is working on? maybe that explains it.
2:09 AM
me: Cray...
2:10 AM
nvm..

I'll sleep on it

craycook: okay what?
2:11 AM
me: nah... tomorrow... really.

I'm too tired, and I don't have perspective
2:12 AM
nite

craycook: g'nite and thanks again!!

me: nice....

In Game and Out .... it's frustrating to not be thrown a bone on this one.

it seems that after e it starts back at a and just repeats your available grid...

for some reason it wont even let you send an a8 request....

anyone else got that?

p.s. b's gonna blow.

pps.
b's new youtube post is ridiculous, it seems that he might be on to something with the major events deal....
maybe this can help us figure out string and obelisk.....
thatll be the day.

So... are we spamming B's blog with demands that he speaks to Cray?
